where to find these systems

Mechanix

CAGiversary!
My dad is a jackass long story short he sold my sega cd and nintendo 64. Normally I'd go to funcoland but it seems they have been replaced by gamestop and every auction on ebay for a sega cd is way over priced and comes with like 50+ games that I don't want cuz I managed to save my game collection. Soooooo help me plzplzplz? I really want to play eternal champions and mario 64:cry:

N64s can be bought cheap at any EB/GS, but you'll probably have to scout eBay or local game shops for a Sega CD.

Gotta love people who complain.. instead of acting cheap how about getting a job and buying something you think is 'to much' off eBay. It's not your dad's fault for selling it.. its yours for not keeping it in your room, which is most likely where it wasnt.

By the way there are many Sega CD systems being sold on eBay with no bundles.

I never knew $30-40 was ALOT.

Gotta love snotty forum know it alls.. and I am acting cheap, thats why I posted this on cheapassgamers.com

To be fair, even at the best places I could recommend, you would be paying around $20 to $25 for the Sega CD with all of the necessary cables, that's about it. Honestly, eBay is probably your best bet at the moment and for a reasonable price.

The only ways you could probably get it for under those eBay prices...hmmm...I'd say a generous CAG, a month or three of lawn sales/flea markets, or a deal from a friend. That's about it.

Sometimes you do just have to bite the bullet for something you want, though. If it helps offset that money out of pocket by what you saved elsewhere. I saved around $8K on the things I bought last year so $50 for one game here and $60 for a gem there worked out pretty well. Offset the "bad" with the "oh god yes" good.
Yeah, a real CAG wouldn't tell you to spend $30/$40 on a Sega CD, I bought mine for $2.00 at a yard sale.
Believe it or not 30-40 is cheap on eBay especially for a Sega CD and the chances of even finding one at a yard sale anymore are slim to none. Mow 3 or 4 lines for $40. A real person doesnt call there father names just because he sold there stuff. WTF is up with that. Lets see be snotty or be immature like OP..... which would I rather be.. Snotty.

Haha, well considering he already called his father a jackass and a douche, I didn't think calling him an asshole would offend him. I absolutely apologize if it did, but I honestly think you're just grasping for straws.

Anyway, lets stop thread hijacking, yes? This bickering of ours isn't going to help the OP in his quest for oldschool gaming awesomeness.

I miss the old days when game stop had a ton of 64s and snes and what not. Check craigs list though. You can find a 64 probably easy and for cheap. I did. I havent seen any Sega cds on the dallas craigs list though. dammit.

Yeah, man. They don't even have Dreamcast stuff anymore, I need a second controller and a VMU!

You know, give GameCrazy a shot. As far as I know, they still carry oldschool stuff, and I think they are running that classic gaming deal right now.

Theres a local game store by me selling a dreamcast for 14.99, Im gonna go pick it up tonight. No cords, but it has a controller.
As for Craigslist, I cant say it enough. Its awesome. Online garage sale. About a month ago I got (all with multiple controllers and all cords) a 64, NES, Genesis in the box, and a Dreamcast w a VMU. About 60 Genesis games, 10 NES and like 5 64 games all for the low low price of 120.

Nice. It's pretty YMMV though. My craiglist has nothing good, just old furniture and other boring things.

I think acepuppy is stalking me he seems to know everything about me and my family. And for the record I've purchased a sega genesis for $5 many years ago so I think I can find the same deal for a sega cd somewhere out there.

Notice how you say 'many years ago' many years ago it wasn't worth as much as they are now, and how am I stalking you? Get a grip on reality. I never knew $40 was so much money to buy an old system.

How about buying a Cheetahmen II for $400 http://cgi.ebay.com/Nintendo-NES-Cheetahmen-2-Boxed-SEALED_W0QQitemZ130023180845QQihZ003QQcategoryZ112734QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

would you like me to say thats expensive? Because it isn't.

Seriously you said there were no Sega CD's on eBay without bundles and i'm looking at 10 right now with no bundles to bundles with 3 or 4 games that wont go for more than $40.

Which leads to the question, why would you make a thread asking for resources to help find these systems?

Craigslist or eBay is gonna be your best bet. If they're too much, well, then just wait. You'll eventually be able to score on a Sega CD bundle on eBay. It just may take half a year or so. If you have the patience, you can score on the cheap. If you don't have the patience, then you've got nothing to complain about if you have to pony up $40 for a system you must have *now* versus one you can wait six more months for.
