White Noise movie
yeah, when i first saw the trailer, i thought it was a documentary, now that woulda been scary.
Apparently part of the trailer has clips from "real" situations littered in it.

This movie sounds like it will be similar to the Mothman Prophecies, which is a good thing considering I loved it.

Only down side is that this will be a january release, which is widely known as a month where film studios dump their crap movies. However, Mothman came out in January too, so there is hope.

I have never heard of the Mothman Prophecies, when did that come out? Last year?

I'm actually happy that the trailer doesn't show off the whole movie. I think some of these film companies release too much footage in the trailer at times (especially for horror films and comedies).

2002. Its completely bad ass. Richard Gere is the star, but don't let that fool you. You need to see it if you like a good thrill.

Richard Gere?? He sucks so bad ... I will put it on my netflix list anyways :)

Usually if Richard Gere is your headline actor, you've already started off on the wrong foot as far as making a movie :)

I absolutely agree, especially with comedies. The problem with trailers is that they show the best gags completely out of context to what is happening in the film that lead to the event ("oh look, he's fucking a pie!"). My girlfriend and I try to avoid all trailers for movies that we know we will watch and only see glimpses who films we are being convinced on. This doesn't just apply to comedies. I remember how her and I refused to see a single trailer or tv ad about Lord of the Rings: TT and we were one of the few people who were actually shocked at seeing that Gandolf lived through the first film. The moral of the story: Don't watch trailers unless you don't know if you want to watch it, in which case you'd just watch a little after you've decided to go see it.

I had quite a few scenes in About Came Polly and other comedies that was ruined for me because of the stupid trailers. They should just keep the trailers simple.

Richard Gere, I'm outta here!

Just kidding, he's not that bad, and Debra Messing and that other blonde chick make it alot better. It's actually a pretty neat little movie, although

SPOILER ALERT

if fate calls, you pick up the damn phone!

I wholeheartedly agree. I have no rule against seeing teasers because they are good at doing what trailers should be doing: TEASING you with enough information/footage about the film to make you interested about watching it. Anyone remember the teaser/trailer for Unbreakable? It was incredible! Also, the teaser for Spiderman 2 was great. Other movies need to just stick with teasers and abolish the trailer.

If anyone hasn't heard the preview, it's fucking weird. I saw the previews when I saw Saw.

"Get out of my House"

That line especially.

Well its gotta be better than The Grudge. Don't get me wrong the grudge had scary parts but the plot was very tired and absolutely worthless.

This movie looks pretty scary. Also, Mothman Prophecies was also scary as shit. I remember the scene where he comes into his hotel room, and right as he opens the door, his phone rings. A split second after the phone on the screen starting ringing, mine did as well. It took a little courage for me to get up and pick up the phone which turned out to be my Dad.

White Noise uses cheap scares and they are very predictable. I don’t know if you have to see it more than once (which I wont) but some things were not very clear, especially during the last 5 mins. I found it funnier then scary as well did everyone else in the theater, who were yelling stuff throughout the film. The director also made some very poor shot choices early in the film. I love Michael Keaton but he should have finished reading the script.

the trailer seemed interesting enough. at first i couldn't figure out if it was a documentary on supernatural incidences or an actual movie...and then i saw Batman.

Well, rotten tomatoes sometimes likes to be a dick IMO, so I'm going to see it today and make my own decision. It can't be worse then darkness...
