Who bought their new elmos this morning?
It's not ok to hoard video games, but it's ok to hoard children's toys?

Awesome. Double standards on CAG for the win.
Thats exactly what I was thinking. Replace the word "Elmo" with "PS3" or "Wii" and you would be considered evil. That said, I couldn't care less what people hoard. If someone is stupid enough to pay 2, 3, or more times retail for something that is going to become easily available in a short time then more power to the ones that sell them!

For any interested in obtaining one of these cheap I have one on my TL. If you check my TL you can see what I'm asking. I'm trying to help any CAG who really wants one and not for profit.
I hope that Mattel floods the market with these things around Christmas so all of those FatWalleters who bought them and are saving them until Christmas time get the old screwgie.
Yeah. Then everyone will bitch because Mattel didn't mark the "reprints" as such, thus driving down the price of the originals.

I don't like hording in general, but I'm with 6669. This seems worse since it's a toy for babies/toddlers.

Haven't heard it yet, but you will if there are shortages and people start seeing them on ebay. Every console launch with shortages leads to speculative buying and corresponding complaints.

That's pretty funny.

Alright well I listed 2 of these on Ebay tonight. I did a little math and figured that 10,000 Elmos will sell from now til tomorrow same time 24 hrs. Crazy Shit. I hope I can get a decent buck for mine. I have a couple bills to pay :/

When I put my elmos up this morning there where 600 something of them up for auction. when I checked on my lunch break that number jumped to 6,000 something. It is mad crazy.

There are like 6 other auctions ending the exact same minute mine is. Hell if I only sell it for $60 I made a $20 profit so I can't lose. And if the market does get flooded, which it is looking like. I still have the recipt and can get my $40 back for them.

A couple went for $300+ today.

These things are in stock on a buncha retailer websites. Im not gonna bother due to the amount of these things flooding ebay. Its already up to 14,000+

Not much of a limited edition if it was supposed to be one.

What.... the... fuck.......

Between this and the 10,000 calls I had today for the Pokemon game it feels like I dropped in a timewarp that took me back 10 years.

I was looking for clearance games at K-mart and saw the Elmos TMX (wish it was T-Elos ;)) on an endcap. It's only $34.99, so I picked one up.

I also picked up the Time Crisis: Crisis Zone for $6.

the current auctions are getting high, but that due to it being the only one ending within an hour. But once it gets to where there are multiple auctions ending in the same minutes some people are going to get low balled.

damn the soonest ending one is at $350 right now!

Again it is the timing. He is the only one ending for the next few hours.

I knew I should have put up a listing last night.

What's the likliehood that auction ends up with a non-paying bidder? Considering that eBay is flooded with them...T.M.X. Elmo looks like a product from the hype machine!

Wait.... so the new elmo's are a high-demand item? My TRU only sold maybe 10 of them yesterday, out of 20 some cases.

Anyone who pays more than retail, IMHO, is a fucking idiot

well i bought one but it was for me....... it is so nifty though, very cute, and I do have the excuse that we will have a baby soon to help make it better...

it litterally falls on its but laughing, rolls over on to it's chest, beats the floor w/ it's hand rolls back over and stands up..... i am easily amused though.

Are you kidding me? People are paying $80 regularly for this thing. I might go down to wal-mart, put it up for $80 BIN and see what happens. This is crazy.

This is just insane, you have toi be that crazy to buy Elmo this time around. I mean if they could make him roll on the floor and laugh why not make him run around the house and remove the toilet paper from the roll or better yet "Strangle me Elmo"

i work at walmart and been seeing the instore tv ad for tooooo long, but i was off so i didnt feel like going in to get any
Oh good goddamn christ.

That's scarier than the R.O.B.

I'd terrify the living shit out of kids with that sort of thing.
Cut the sound off and it looks like Elmo is going through various sexual positions. First, doggy, then . . .

Seeing the thread title and wondering if by elmo, y'all actually meant the Sesame Street Elmo, I checked the YouTube link, and it seems that yes, we're talking Elmo. So I did a quick search in eBay and I get 437 pages of Elmo TMX auctions. Looking at those ending within the next few minutes, a few have bids, others have no takers.

Do you guys think these will actually be worth anything? It seems like more hype (even though I hadn't heard any thing about a new tickle me elmo until seeing this thread) than actual demand. ?

Well seeing they are going for about 100.00 on ebay. I would say there is a slight demand. Search Elmo TMX. I didnt here anything about it either. It had a strict 9am 9/19/0 release day though.

A) I did a search on Elmo TMX
B) Only some auctions have any bids
C) Some auctions with a BIN for under $40 and reasonable shipping have ended without a single bid.
D) Looking at a few random auctions that do have high bids, the high bidders have feedback of ZERO. So it looks like people are bidding on their own item with a fakie account in an attempt to drum up interest.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are some legit auctions getting eBayers some profit. But I also did a search on Elmos TMX... there are lots of two Elmos still going for around $40 or $50 total. That's not making anyone any money.

EDIT: Okay, I did another search, and the 100s that are ending in the next few minutes do have legit bids on them. I must have searched at a bad end-time. XD

So, anyone going to "snipe" a ROFLing Elmo? I'd imagine getting a headshot on the critter may be difficult since it keeps twitching...j/k

I wonder how much these things actually cost to make. I can't imagine something like this maintaining much value.

I went to my wal-mart and couldn't find them; no shelf space or anything. I wonder if they had any to begin with.

Bought one for my little girl and one for my nephew, and took 3 to spare. I know come Christmas, my aunts will start wanting one, so I'll have extra ones.
If you guys have some spare cash that you've saved over retail from the recent clearances...you might want to check these auctions out!

Only on eBay! \\:D/

$1,500 BIN!

$3,000,000 BIN! :hot:

:imwithst:
wow some people are fucktards...
The new Tickle me Elmo ( whichever way ) was recently at $40 and is selling on ebay for $300
only 1 or 2 went fro that high. Most are in the $80 range right now

haha for some reason the laugh sounds so demonic. It's kind of entertaining.. someone want to test it out on a cat :D?

Anyways no way I would buy an elmo unless I had my own kid or valued a niece or nephew. The hype is still as crazy as it's been in the past.. makes me wonder who the hell are these people who buy these toys for $300 or $100.
