Who has the biggest video game collection?

It seems like a lot of people will have well over $10,000 in games all over their room, but a small little crappy 10 year old tv to play them on... It confuses me.
I've noticed this as well. Baffling.
yea i noticed too, i laugh sometimes
yeah, I've also seen that. And they usually have all their consoles even the new ones like xbox & Cube hooked up using an RF adapter.

I've got 297 games at the moment, which is small potatoes compared to some of you, but I'm happy.

For the hell of it, here's a breakdown:

103 SNES (most recent purchase: Blackthorne)
46 PS2 (most recent purchase: Strike Force Bowling)
38 Gamecube (most recent purchase: TimeSplitters 2)
32 PSX (most recent purchase: Tomb Raider II)
30 Genesis (most recent purchase: Mutant League Football)
27 N64 (most recent purchase: Doom 64)
9 GBA (most recent purchase: Konami Krazy Racers)
7 GBC (most recent purchase: Pokemon Pinball)
5 GB (most recent purchase: TMNT: Fall Of The Foot Clan)

Complete list is in my sig.

indeed, what is the point of owning 1000+ games when 900 of them are shitty rehashes? I have just about completed my casltevania mega collection(every castelvania game ever made for every home console and portable console), i may even go for the arcade jamma board to finish off the collection.

For one thing, my biggest concern is space, i dont have space for 3000 shitty games, might as well just keep the very best. That is just my 2 cents, if you want to figure out who has more games, whether its defender or someone else. go ahead.

there are a couple of crazy traders on gametz: one is sportbettor, he has a complete NES collection, and over 8000 nes games if you include the dupes. smart guy, good trader too.

There are some others on digitpress.com There was a thread on digitpress.com where guys talk about how much theft insurance they have, with $20,000 worth of games in the basement and so on.

I have 73 games. Thats it. But I do also have around 80 DVDs. As soon as I finish on Guzzlefish, I'll put that list up. Its pretty impressive- I have INdianja Jones, all the Star Wars movies, all the LOTR EE's, and other good stuff. I just recently started buying games again.

What's the point of owning baseball cards of shitty players? It's a collection. It's what we do. The percentage of bad games is surely higher then the good ones, but I certainly pop in a bad one once a while just to do it. It's kind of like an entertaining bad movie. At least with games (as opposed to cards) you can actually do something with them.

I know cmosfm has a large collection of nes games.

mines only around 225 not sure about other syatems dont keep track beside nes.

i have one of the smallest collections :(
so do I
well..you have more than me :p
Mines pretty low too, I'm kind of a nomad gamer, if I'm not currently playing something it hits ebay. Plus with wife and kids games fall real low on the fund distribution list
I'm gonna join this group. I got like 100 - 150 games. Something like that. At my high point I had 254 games.

16 + systems. All current gen. consoles using componet, last gen. consoles using s-video. SNES, Master system, etc, using RCA and RF. Just breaking the 2000 mark with number of games.

There are 2 kinds of collectors:

Collector #1. Those who try and collect everything in 2 differing ways:

1a. Try to collect every game for a certain system or every system and don't give a rip about it being complete.

1b. Those who are like a, but must have it complete, mint, or brand spanking new and factory sealed.

Collector #2. Those who collect for quality AAA games.

I think I'll put myself under the #2 type of collector. I might, if I am lucky have 100 games. Been collecting and playing since Atari. Any single game would make me cry if I sold it. They are all games I could play over and over and over... Also, every single one is 100% complete, some still sealed.

Although I don't have a trust fund like some of you apparently do , I have managed a decent collection on my current salary of rocks and twigs.

Currently 478.

I try to buy quality and niche titles over quantity on most occasions.

I have Fatal Frame, Fatal Frame II, Parasite Eve II, Front Mission 4 and Fighter Maker on order from EB.com. I am just waiting for them to come in. I really need a better camera to take pics with.

I only buy Xbox, PS2 and GCN games complete. I prefer complete on everything but I do make allowances for EB and their PS One games or cartridge games. For example, I got tired of trying to find a decent priced Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance so I bought it cart only from EB. When I do buy Saturn games, I only get them complete now.

I am considering weeding out some of the common titles I have (especially non-complete ones) but I am not sure yet.

I have 142 games across 9 systems... I'm 19 and I work and go to school. I have no idea how people can afford so many games. While there are a few games I really want and don't have, I could never handle having so many games that will remain unplayed.

I could never part with any of my games, except for the small storage of pre-played titles in my closet.

Just stuff. No comments.

Hmm.

These are a bit older, as I don't live there anymore, but whatever.

Here's the actual roomish pictures:

And this is where I am now - minimalistic, everything else is basically in storage.

I have some other pictures of stuff laying around if anyone cares.

Sartori - What are those Xenogears and Xenosaga boxes of? The big ones on top of he shelf.

EDIT - and that Vincent Valentine standee-looking thing.

Well, the Xenosaga boxes are the Limited Editions of the first and second episodes (well, maybe the second episode isn't in that picture? too lazy to check, but it should be).

The Xenogears is the Fei Square Millennium Collection. Square released a Millennium Collection of various titles a few years back (FFT, LoM (I think?), Xenogears (Fei/Elly), etc).

Vincent Valentine is just part of the Kotobukiya FF VII line.
I got to show this to my sister. She thought I was an idiot for having 20 GCN, 18 PS2, and 15 Xbox games.
She'll still think you're an idiot, but she will think we're even bigger ones.

As for my collection... I feel so inadequit after this thread.
I've been meaning to make a pyramid or something else cool out of the Chrono Cross clocks..

Laziness ensues..
I'm sorry, but cool and Chrono Cross are mutually exclusive.

*squints* ... Hey, that's the same TV my boyfriend has! I think his might be a bigger size, tho'... I'll have to ask. (Leave it to the girl to bring up size :p )

Anyway-

My collection is dinky, I haven't broke 200 yet. Which is fine, cuz my goal is to have the greatest 'working' collection I can- I want to be able to have someone who's never played games before come by, and be able to go from Pong to PS2, and play some of the best games that game out. And turn into an RPG player becuase that's my fav and what I have the most of.

I'm middle of the road as far as game collections go. I have about 150 games, but they are all ones that are good. My money goes towards my Star Wars collection, rather than my games. If these load to slow, let me know and I will make them links rather than the smaller images. And also, this is not where I play my games. I play on a 32 inch TV in the living rome. I expect the parent's basement comments, and they are true, but I am still in High School so it's ok.

Nice Star Wars collection!

I used to be a hardcore collector myself, but I gave up a few years back when I couldn't find a SINGLE NEW FIGURE for months at any local stores and the prices started getting above $6 a figure.

I have every figure from the 97 POTF2 line up through the AOTC line (at least up to the summer 02 releases) except Jorg Sacul. I might have some old pics lying around on my PC......I'll see what I can find.
