Who is getting Street Fighter Anniversery Collection tomorrow?

the nude scene is most likely cut out, seeing as how this is the american release, and i believe the rating for it is T. does japan have the same rating system? i'm pretty sure that if there was an included nude scene, it would get a rating higher than a T.

Does the SF2 compilation have the endings from their respective games - like if I play ryu from SF2 do I get his ending, etc?

Also does it have the flaming barrells and the car?

Oh, the car! I loved smashing that thing!

Curse you, GameStop! Send this game to me already!

I cannot even get to the endings to tell you. I hated SSFII and this game reenforces the point. I cannot wait for my friend to come over and play it.

CAPCOM, please fix Hyper so that when someone chooses a Champion Edition character they only play aganist a Champion Edition character.

and BTW Third Strike is still as awesome as ever, even better than the DC version which had washed out colors.

EDIT: So far I have probably put in like 10 hours, so do not let the negative things I say sway you. IF you like Street Fighter you will like the game, but it is not the end all and be all Street Fighter game (means that it may be time to start hunting for a version 2 street fighter collection)
my copy wont load? I went back already twice and it still would not load.
It does work, enable mode 2, works great! I didn't know 3rd strike had the beat up the car part , until last night! :D

Well, I keep hearing negative things about this game. It seems that the good ratings it recieves are because of 3rd strike and the nostalgia factor - they even say that the colors in 3rd strike are blurry to hide the lack of pixels.

Anyway, I just want to know what the single player experience is like for the SF2 game and if they have their respective endings, barrels and the car.

You can turn off the burry effect, in options on third strike, under video..

traded in 3 crappy fighting games for it...somehow it was worth it. realized how spoiled I was by the alpha series and I get my ass consistantly handed to me by the computer...for shame.

bought it a few days ago, and spent the last few nights on a street fighter marathon trip with my cousins... so here's a few thoughts:

- third strike alone for 30 bucks is very much worth it. in my opinion, this is the deepest, funnest, and best street fighter game... and maybe one of the best fighting games period. from what i've seen, it's a closer port of the arcade game than the dc version. downsides? well... maybe it isn't that deep in terms of storyline, so it's like mvc2 in that it's strictly all about the gameplay. i'm a fan of the storyline, so it kind of sucked not to have much connection to the previous games, but i got over it real quick. in fact, some of the funnest time i've had with the game was in training mode, just trying to perfect combos.

- the hyper street fighter version is sort of what you remember it to be. it's closer to super turbo though. and yes, the AI is one of the hardest AI's in any fighting game. the graphics are pretty true to the latest incarnations. that is to say, they're not the greatest, but the game IS pretty old. gameplay wise, what can i say? except that it's everything that built this damn house of fighting games. it kind of sucks that in arcade mode, all of the opponents are strictly super turbo. i would've liked to have played an all world warrior version, or (my personal favorite) just regular turbo. also, they got rid of bonus stages... no more beating the car, the pyramid of bricks, and not even the falling barrels. actually, they took out a LOT of things in this... especially in the game mode department, because all you've got is arcade and versus, pretty much. a few more glaring omissions: stage select, handicap settings, and match records!

- you get street fighter the animated movie... which is cool if you've never seen it before, and sucks if you were hoping for the non-dubbed, non-censored version. it would have been cool to have a big art gallery... but i guess you can't have everything. on a sort of related note... you guys should check out the official bradygames guide for this game. authored by some awesome players in the sf community. basic tactics, in-depth advanced strategy, frame data... none of that "here's the special moves and the super moves" bullshat, just real useful stuff. plus you get a third strike soundtrack.

- all in all, very very worthwhile to buy, even if you have to settle for full price. i spend most of my time playing third strike, and most people will. that's not to say hyper sf anniversary isn't good... it's just a little bit outdated. i still have fun with it, but honestly, the people i play with prefer newer games. single player wise, you'd have fun with both... i probably prefer the older sf2's over the vs. series, guilty gear, and almost every 3d fighter. just remember that sf is about skill, so if you lose a bunch, don't take it as the game sucking... it's just you that sucks. button mashing is punished, not rewarded. this isn't soul calibur 2 (HAHA to you soul calibur 2 "pros").

I agree with most of you on here that SF3 is way underrated and worth the price of admission alone. Hyper is cool but one of the hardest games I've played all year. I'm planning on buying the SF controllers when they come out as I think that'll be a little more comfortable. DualShock is awesome but the damn analog sticks are getting in my way with some of the moves. Not to mention but (sadly) my fingers are no longer callused from playing games with the digital pad. I played SF2 for a few hours and my thumbs were burning. Having to fight SF2T challengers does suck though and takes some of the fun out of the one player version. Hopefully some of these things will come out to be unlockable or something later.
Still the game is great and has to be in everyone's library. At least until January when the XBOX version comes out with Live support. But honestly if you don't refreshen your skills withi this version you know you'll get your ass handed to you come Janruary

.............IT'S NOT A BUTTON MASHER!!!!!!!!!!!

But 3rd Strike is a very good game. I'm trying to learn Ken, Yun, and Ibuki. I can't seem to parry anything except for hadoukens and obvious jump attacks. Any other time I manage to parry is on accident. I also can't juggle much with Yun's 3rd special. I get like 3 hits and miss.

Oh, question. What's Ibuki's best special? I use the 3rd special for Ken and Yun, but I don't know what to use for Ibuki.

Hyper is amazing with two people. I owned my friend with Champion Edition Ryu, and all he kept picking were SSFII Turbo characters.

for ibuki, definitely go with SA1. the problem with her is that all 3 aren't even that great. i say SA1 because it's not horrible like SA2, and it has 2 stocks. if SA3 had more than one stock, there would be no doubt that it should be THE ibuki super art. i'd rather have more stock and have a mediocre super, than ONE stock and a better mediocre super.

and yes... soul calibur 2 is a button masher.

it's kind of interesting that someone finds the xbox control better... i always thought most people preferred ps2 controllers. i'm not as precise on a controller than i am on a joystick, especially when using EX moves... anyone else have the same problem?

I'm totally not impressed w/this game.

The graphics in 3rd Strike look terrible when compared to the ones in the "inferior" DC version. Also, I never did like SF2 (I actually couldn't get into fighting games b/c stupid assholes would always whoop me when I tried to learn how to play as a kid), and after playing games like MVC2 and GGX2, I just can't play something that slow anymore. Plus the fact that the Chun Li shower scene is out of the movie is another slap in the face.

IMO I'd say skip this and get the vastly superior GG Isuka, KOF 02/03 double pack, or Capcom Fighting Jam out in a couple months.

Thanks for not-too-much Capcom, see ya in like 38 years when "Street Fighter 3.5: Super Pie Boxing" comes out.

how can you dismiss third strike on account of "terrible graphics" and in the same post recommend KOF 02/03 and capcom fighting jam? those sprites were used and re-used like hell.

i'd agree that sf2 is slower than most current fighting games, but that doesn't mean it sucks. it just means certain moves matter more. it's like chess... i like faster paced games too like guilty gear and mvc2, i just appreciate sf2 in a different kind of way.

anyhow, i guess you had to have been there to really appreciate it. regardless of age, anyone who quit because they got whooped on probably should stay away from the fighting game genre. i see some kids rockin' mvc2 like pros... probably because they didn't quit when they get stomped on by the college students and what not.
