Why do folks obsess about other people's post counts

Because post count = E-Peen. It's not about quality, its all about quantity!
The larger your post count, the more right you have to call somebody a noob and look cool doing it.

I personally judge people by past posting quality and senority, not post count.

I'm guessing that you are talking about deleting this thread and banning people who post the "+1" stuff?

I dunno, it really doesn't bother me. I think a lot of people post stupid topics and replies, but oh well. That's life. It's a fine line between contributing and just up-ing your own post count. Like if someone replies "I agree" to a certain topic and that's all, it's that contributing or just getting another post in?

As for flaming for n00bs...I don't think that's right, but if someone thinks I said something stupid and flames me, oh well, maybe I did say something stupid and maybe I did not. Everyone has to start off somewhere. if Shigeru Miyamoto himself logged on, some of you would probably start flaming him for being a n00b, lol. :wink:

Most logical people don't obsess about something that someone posts here. It's simple logic that if you see a post you don't like, simply ignore it. To announce your disapproval to the whole CAG community is trolling and won't change how people post.

Most people I find are quite cool here though. There are a few that simply can't handle posts that they don't like and must comment no matter what instead of being intelligent enough to side-step (I am not going to drop names, yet).

It is ironic that I start a post about people who bitch about other peoples post counts and now I'm on the edge of doing just that. Anyways guys recycling the same joke over and over again is getting kind of lame at least be original
 
It doesn't matter how much or how little one posts. Original humor is original humor, informative posts are informative posts and Unfunny Douche Bags will continue to pop in now and again to remind everyone that they suck no matter the number under your name.
