Why do some poeple buy multiple copies of games?

For vintage games especially, I sometimes get a sealed copy for collecting purposes and an extra copy that I can actually play and have fun without having to open the sealed copy. I have quite a few games with at least 2 copies.

For in some cases, sealed copies are worth exponentially higher than opened ones.
To sell (on ebay or amazon or where ever)
To flip (to GS, BBV/GR, FYE, HV)
To keep (collectors who keep one sealed and open one to play)
To give (I'll often buy more than one copy because it's a title me and my brothers all want. I know there are parents and grandparents who'll buy for each kid.)
That about covers it for me too.

Sell/trade - I don't sell too much anymore, but I normally pickup an extra copy to put on the trade list
Flip - once in a while normally to Goozex now
Keep - one to play & one to set aside
Give - gamer buddies, 2 nephews, 1 niece + lots of cousins (especially in the Philippines)
Forgot - with all the games I've picked up thanks to CAG I do find myself picking up repeat titles that I forgot I owned
