Why Don't People Ship Properly

Is it lack of the extra dollar or something? This was shipped in a envolope, with packing peanuts just thrown in. Like a box would hurt?

I won South Park Season 10 on Ebay (the Target edition) and received it today.

The corners are all dinged up,the sides are starting to bow (I've manged to get them back a lil bit)

and I don't know if it comes this way, but the hologram never really changes, you can still see Kyle

and there's some sort of sticker residue over the UPC on the back

Oh, and this was advertised as being "new, just unwrapped"

The insides are perfect, with the exception of some corners that were bent as a result of the outside, but not too bad

Anyway, what should I do? I contacted the seller, and let them know. Maybe I'm just being over anal about this; but I like my movies to be in decent condition.

Killing yourself would be a good start. It would be the easiest way to guarantee you won't produce offspring that will butcher the english language the way you have.

wow cag's must be cranky in the morning. op how much feedback did the seller have? if you got your item for a rock bottom price then you should expect these things anyways.
You can cry about it, and ask others to make decisions for you...
Yes, I'm crying about it. I simply asked for advice on a problem I'm having, why is that such a big deal for you?

I'm sorry english teacher, did I miss a word? I didn't realize I was being graded on how I posted on a message board.

It was 34 ish, since I expected that I was getting a basically new copy.. and the seller had 1400+ FB

I don't think you are being anal but unfortunately many sellers will ship anything in a bubble mailer (even GBA games). You probably just have to suck it up and take a hit this time, and the next time you purchase something with a cardboard case, ask the seller if they can ship it in a box (though you really shouldn't have to ask in my opinion).

Well, beyond just missing words (which you apparently went back and edited to add back in), your sentence structure and general grammar are a complete mess. I guess you're doing better than most message board posters given the fact that you seem to actually be able to spell.

Overall, I'd have to give you a solid "C" for your effort. I know you can do better, and I will be speaking with your parents about this during parent-teacher conferences.
$9.95 :(

but the base price was low, so I thought nothing of it
for that price the least he could have done was put it in a box...i would complain and maybe he will give something back

I hear this new fangled thing called "sending an e-mail" is really good for these odd, unusual, and confusing situations.

Yeah,

I mean, I've ordered twice from 8-bit-ghost (I think that's his name), the guy who sells the empty boxes on here. Each time he's shipped in a box, he could have just easily said fuck it, since it's just the box.

I wish people would just be more considerate of others, I emailed them though, and explained the box. So I'll see what happens
I hear this new fangled thing called "sending an e-mail" is really good for these odd, unusual, and confusing situations.
yeah, I did that, like I mentioned in the first post. When I asked "what should I do," I was looking for an answer like "accept partial refund, or send the whole thing back". Sorry for not being clear about that (and no that's not sarcasm)

How was the box? Was is at least in awesome mint condition?
How was the box? Was is at least in awesome mint condition?
The one from 8 bit? Yeah, this thing is in minty fresh condition

I just looked at the packaging he sent it in, and the fucker sent it Media Mail for 2.88. When it says in the listing

Shipping costs:US $9.95
US Postal Service Priority Mail®
leave a neutral and get the sand out of your vag
That pretty much sums it up.

We've all had shitty Ebay shipping experiences happen to us and the only thing you can do is take your licks and move on.
Someone shipped a Raptor I bought off Ebay in a manila envelope........................................
If you mean a WD Raptor, that has got to be the most asinine packaging job in eBay history.

Should I ask him about why he sent Media Mail, and charged me for Priority?

Wow, what a complete ass

" i said in the auction that it wasnt sealed, so you cant expect it to be perfect condition. if thier was a problem with the discs that would be a problem."

was his reply

in the auction did he say it would be shipped Priority?
damn, i would be pissed too...did it come with the plastic still on it as pictured?
no, you know i didn't realize the plastic was on it, in the picture.. Since
it says in the description that he removed it..

what makes this more ironic is that he sent this note attached to it saying

" Please let me know if there is anything wrong or something your not happy with about your item, before leaving a negative feedback or filling a dispute with paypal (and you guys thought my english was bad)

then I let him know, and he says fuck you basically

Yes you did.

Leave a neutral and then in the wake of this tragedy try to pick up the broken pieces of your life as best you can.
If you mean a WD Raptor, that has got to be the most asinine packaging job in eBay history.
Yup, from Florida to California Parcel Post..in a manila envelope.

They charged me $7.99 for standard shipping and said if I wanted more packaging, I should have contacted them for more.

How much did you pay for shipping?
I read this:
Seller's payment instructions

SHIPPING WILL BE $8.65 FOR THIS ITEM. THIS IS A PAYPAL ONLY AUCTION AND THERE IS NO COMBINED SHIPPING.

Something is not right here.

If he had sent it Prioirty like he was supposed to, it wouldn't have been an issue because he could have gotten a free box for Priority shipments from the post office. I'd do a chargeback. It also appears he didn't insure it based on the $2.88 postage cost (since insurance is $1.65, that means postage alone was under $1.50 which is not possible)

I sent him another email earlier, talking about the shipping, etc and he responds with

"shipping was factored into the price of the item. i lost money on this set and never even watched it.. the dvds.. which is all that is important should have been fine. if there was a problem with the dvds i would have no problem giving you a refund... but as far a ding in the box? does that even matter? you dont watch the box? what do you want me to do?"

That doesn't make sense. If he wanted to "factor in" shipping to the price of his item, he would've had, for example, $30 BIN w/ free shipping. At least that's how I would do it.

I'd leave a neutral. You got your item, even though it's not in perfect condition. Write something like: "Paid for Priority, he sent by Media Mail $2.88, flimsy packaging yielded slight damage to box". You want to convey he ripped you on shipping and that the product was not as good as you expected (and probably would've been fine if he had shipped it in a box).

I read some of his feedback, and there were similar complaints. You figure he does this with most of his items, but most people don't really care about the quality of their items, or how it's shipped, so they just leave positives. I just find it hard to believe that sellers like this guy don't do the same with all their auctions.

I emailed him one last time,

"I'm sorry that you lost money on the sale, but that isn't my fault, nor my problem. You set the price of the BIN with the shipping for 9.95(making me purchase Insurance, that never even got purchased)and then sent it for less then 3 bucks. Yes it's true that you don't "watch" the boxes, however there are people who collect things, as do I. That's the reason that I searched for and purchased the Target LE. The box was advertised as being brand new minus the shrink wrap, not with bumps, bends, and sticker residue. Had you just shipped priority, you'd have gotten a free BOX to ship it in, and we wouldn't be having this discussion. As far as what you do, it'ss your call; I did my part and contacted you before leaving a negative, as your paper told me to. I was ready to just leave a negative. I don't want this to get complicated, I just want whats fair. "

I'm not sure how I want to proceed with this. Because i have 130 positive FB, and not 1 neg. I don't want to ruin it over some jackass. I know as a buyer it doesn't mean much, but in case I choose to start to sell

This is why I opened a second eBay account that I use just for buying. I had a crappy experience with a seller and realized that leaving a negative would result in a revenge negative on my main account, which I also use for selling. The seller in question gets a lot of negatives and leaves revenge feedback for every single neg (plus some neutrals). With a second account, I can leave honest feedback and not have to worry about hurting my selling account. Your feedback as a buyer doesn't really matter as long as it's above 0 and doesn't include excessive non-paying bidder marks.

if you wanted a mint cond set then go buy it new. is it the lack of a dollar. ummm if they jacked up their shipping then you would been bitching they charge too much for shipping.

if you want the seller to eat the extra buck if that person sells 100 items a month or even 20 that is extra 20 to 100 bucks they are just tossing in the trash.

ummmm isnt boxes free if you ship that way. so no clue why the person didnt put it in a box

too lazy to look but how much is south park season 10 new must be more then 35 bucks cause you paid 35 for it used

Wow it's fucking official that slidecage NEVER actually reads the threads in question, just posts whatever he feels.

Dude he already said that he paid $9.95 for insured Priority Mail.

He knows he ripped you off so return the favor. Do a chargeback or file a paypal dispute.

Dude, he charged me 9.95 to ship insured priority as Davo said, he paid 2.88 shipped it media in a envolope.

As far as the whole used vs new thing. The Target LE is a collectors item, it isn't the normal cover. Amazon sells the reg new for 34, I believe Comedy Central has it on sale for 30. so I paid roughly the "new" price for something that claimed to be new just unwrapped

i dont think there is a thing you can do about it. you wont see any of the cash back. I had some people do the same thing to me over xmas last year

Paypal said they can ship anyway they want

Just leave a negative on the sellers account already and realize they'll probably do the same and move on with your life.

And, who the fuck collects dvd sets for the sake OF collecting? Coins, yeah, comic books, yeah, dvd sets???? wtf!!

I collect LE, SE, etc of my favorite shows. There's nothing wrong with that.

I have all the Simpsons heads, as well as the regular boxes

I have the Office Space CE

I have the The Office Season 3 Severence Package

I don't buy every single set as a collection,

@Cheatestgamer
i don't see what's wrong with collecting DVDs, especially LE and CE.
its the same as coins and comics (except less nerdy).
I collect DVD, CDs, Posters, Books, etc.
Hell anything can be collected, it doesn't even have to be rare or a LE.
it's whatever that person enjoys and wants to have saved and displayed.

Thats why i fully understand you OP.
Thats sucks i hate it when i get something i plan to have as a collectable in no less then mint condition.
But you win some and you lose some, especially with Ebay.
in cases like your's that are not too serious such as if he shipped you a box full of newspaper, all you can do is email him calmly like you did and see if he is willing to make it up.
If he's a douche like in your case just let it go.
count your loses and walk away.
i wouldn't even leave any feedback if i were you.

He left a neutral feedback to someone that left him a freaking positive one ... WTF!?!?

Buyer's positive
"Great All the Way Except..Seller did take along time to eventually ship the item"

Seller (311) Neutral
"Payment send on july 19th... product recieved the 25th? how is that slow?"

What a douchebag.

some people will leave neg feedback no matter what. back in 2005 my pc broke and i forgot a had a few games listed. Went to campus and saw that i sold a item a week ago. I emailed the person on APRIL 4 that my pc was broke and just notice they won the item . I would upgrade the shipping to 2/3 day mail for free

they got hte item on april 6 left neg feedback on april 9 saying it took 10 days to get item

Yeah this guy just seems an all-around douche. I'm inclined to agree with supraazn. Don't bother with feedback. Who knows, if you leave a neutral he might leave a neg or something simply because you questioned him. And if you leave a negative, there's no doubt he'll retaliate. Maybe better to not even risk it.

bought two $60 model cars (auto art) on ebay... one seller TAPPED stuff directly on to the model to hold stuff down but there were delicate decals on it. Another one the guy loosely though the car in there and it rolled around and broke off stuff like the spoiler.

Real smart...

It's too bad ebay's feedback system sucks.

Write down the guy's username and the item number and neg him on the last day to leave feedback.
