wii $199 at marshalls ..can you believe it ?
Can you name five exclusive games though? And ones that are currently available, at that?
Really, the Wii controls make them exclusive. Godfather Wii is very nearly a completely different game.

Metroid Prime 3
Super Paper Mario
Strikers
WarioWare
RE4

Easy. Plus, BC. Sell your Gamecube, 'cause you won't need it anymore.

Sucks we don't have a Marshalls near here because $200 would be very tempting! Several games either approaching or already out that i'd like to play... I have never been so tempted to buy one until today when I FINALLY saw my first Wii in the wild, Best Buy had 4 of them on the shelf. I resisted the urge since Halo is monday night and I just bought Tiger 08. :D

I've never understood that argument. Does 1080p support make Marvel: Ultimate Alliance exclusive to the PS3? Does online play make Virtua Fighter 5 exclusive to the Xbox 360? I really don't see how having a single feature in a game makes it count as an entirely new game. I can't say I've ever played any game that has a new feature, whether it be graphic, content, or controls, and felt it was worthwhile to buy at full price again just to enjoy that feature. I doubt anyone that's played The Godfather on PS2 or Xbox 360 is going to care to pay $50 just to play it with new controls (especially since it's a downgrade from the Xbox 360 version in some ways).

Especially since I prefered using the Gamecube controller for TP anyway. The only "exclusive" feature from the Wii version that I missed much was the widescreen support.

Anyway, this is getting off topic.

I'd say all the hand-to-hand kills are different, and you get precise aiming. That, to me, is significant.

If the controls in the Wii version of RE4 are 'revolutionary,' I'd say the same thing applies to the Godfather.

And, it's $30 now.

RE4 is a must buy game and kinda an exclusive since the new control style will change the whole feel of the game. I put easily 20+ hours into it on the Gamecube and the day I buy a Wii i'll also buy RE4 again. Plus it's got all the PS2 exclusives that people who only played the Cube version missed out on. If they can revamp one of the best games ever to make it even better why would you not want to play it? :D

Not if you use the Game Boy Player a lot like I do :)
The Wii sells for 25,000 Yen in Japan, the same price as the previous 3 Nintendo consoles did. In America, the Wii is $250, compared to the $200 the previous 3 Nintendo consoles were in that territory. So yes, there was essentially a $50 price hike on the system from including Wii Sports (which currently sells for $10 used at Gamestop).
The value of the dollar has decreased a lot since the GC and previous consoles came out. So while they may be getting more money for it, their profit is probably similar. That's really not relevant though, just thought I would point it out.

So you were the guy that bought the GBP. Congrats!

The reason that Marshalls has them for $200 is that they usually discount products that aren't doing too well, so the Wii's must have been there for a good long time (though, not as long as some stores). If you wait another month or so, I'm sure if they are still there it will be cheaper. Like really, who would ever think to go to Marshalls to pick up a Wii (or even look for a Wii for that matter)? It really isn't on my list of electronic stores to check.
hey guys , i saw this thread at SD ...i couldn`t believe it

Marshalls is a sister store to TJ Maxx, so these Wiis are either returns or refurbished in some fashion because they certainly arent overstock.

I dont know who could be feeding them these Wiis, but Caveat Emptor.

Heres how my conversation went over on the phone.

Me: Hi I had heard you may have Nintendo Wiis in stock.
Old raspy man voice: A Nintendo what?
Me: A Nintendo Wii, it's a gaming system.
Old raspy man voice: No we don't sell video games.

This was a store in Clovis, CA.

If they are being sold in their original sealed boxes with no mention of them being refurbished, then they're not. That would be fraud unless they were specifically labeled as refurbs.

Mon. 09/24/07 - 5:45pm - Stopped at the Marshalls in Watertown, MA on my way home from work, didn't see a single Wii. Did not ask clerks. I assumed if they had them they went fast.

Might stop at Newton store on my out somewhere else later.

Man, anti-Nintendo trolls just can't stay out of any thread, can they?

This is a very weird deal. I wonder how widespread it is.

I was able to get in on this deal. when it happened last week.... was very very lucky.. is actually why i'm back in the CAG forums.. to find me some good game deals...

it's kinda cool to think i got the wii the same week the TRU b2g1 deal is happening..

There is no sign of refurbished anywhere.. everything inside looks brand new never touched and sleek..

The box the wii came looks new, shiney, and undamaged.. it's so new, the edges of the box feel ike they can give you a paper cut if you let it slide fast enough on your skin.. yea.. i know it sounds retarded/lame.. but that was my first reaction when i held the box..
Anyone know what department these are in, in the store?
it may vary by location..

it was at the lay away section at the marshalls i was at...

I would just check the signs.. they had a big one outside the store.

Still a deal compared to the eBay prices, and God knows what those prices will be by November/December during the holiday rush. Everyone should check their local Marshalls outlet and bounce on this. Still can't fathom Marshalls carrying Wiis tho.

Umm... Not if the entire store is merchandise that is sold "AS IS". Thats the ENTIRE Marshalls/ TJ Maxx deal. They sell either rejected, refurbished, or otherwise overstocked items.

Um, NOT factory sealed electronic items unless they were marked as such...that would be fraud. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about.

I checked 2 Marshalls and then called the customer service # posted on a sign in the front of the store... no one has heard of the stocking the Wii... not even customer service.

The Wii box doesn't come with a seal. But yeah, typically when something is refurbished it has to be labeled as such, on the product itself as well with a red "R" on the SN label.

I've been going to Marshalls for years. I've bought my share of electronic devices there (such as radios, shavers, etc.). Everything I've ever bought there was in perfectly new condition, and substantially discounted. That said, I highly doubt they would sell refurbished Wiis.

Nothing in Newton, MA Marshalls, but they had a big bin by the register filled with Wii accessories (cooling stand, sports wiimote add on bundle) so some very minor evidence that maybe Wiis were in the store at some point.

Why, I'm certain proper disclosure takes place*. TJ Maxx and Marshalls have been in this business for some time. I'll trust their legal department is doing its job. ;-)

*I'll toss in one "however". However, someone in recieving at one of their feeder stores may have misstaged a batch of Wii's and sent them to Marshalls, but I consider this very unlikely.

Working 3 years at a stupid luquidation store I can say that it is illegal for the product not mention on the bos it is a refurb or atleast you have been informed. On that topic I have never gotten a modern up to date gaming system while working there not even refurbished(we get 40-50" tv's BRAND NEW) this could mean that the product we got was either a old model a new one was released, overstocks and other reasons stores cant accept them, refurb, store closeouts, bankruptcies that is all the reasons I cant think off. I am sure that the wii's this Marshall store got are either Store Closeouts and/or bankruptcies that happend to a store they were located in. I remember getting smallville season 3-5 at a groccery store for 19.99 a piece, some dvd's were all sratched or either fallen out of it's slot.

People actually still checking? This deal is long dead and people have a 1% chance of finding one when it was first mentioned. Now you have 0% chance. You're just wasting your time looking for one now.

No I don't believe it. Thats a stupid move. Giving up 50 bucks in sales for a product in demand. Someone should be fired.
