err got me interested too, where can i buy it? I don't think googling the name will help much, too generic.
Sorry, off topic, but googling actually helped...

bestskinsever.com
Got a DS from Fenton, MO Gamestop last night. Only choice was pink though but I bit the bullet for a 1/2 price (almost) new DS Lite. Target got a larger shipment in, but they were all pinks also.
well if youre patient and didnt open it yet. you can just hold it and wait until it is in stock and exchange it. you can do this at target too with no receipt.

OT again... sorry, but I am a noob with the DS...

Being a CAG, I am cheap, that Best Skins Ever seems ok since it cover the outside as well as the dual screens...

but has anyone had these screen protectors from Hori?

With google ckeckout, you can get two sets for $6 including shipping.

Hori is known to make the best screen protectors, I'd get 'em.

I just went into my local Gamestop and found out that they have 3 Pink DS Lites. They are holding one for me, for the next few hours.

They did not say anything about the serial numbers being rubbed off, but I am going to bring in 2 of them and let them choose which one that they want.

I have like $50 in credit from X-mas to go with the $50 in credit that they have, and a Pink DS Lite should only be like $30+tax out of my pocket.

:)

So are we SOL if they don't got any systems in stock? I'd like to trade-in my SP for $50 towards a Wii (if it's allowed) but I'm pretty sure they got none in stock.

Will they just give me $50 in-store credit and let me come in and use it whenever they get Wii's in stock? I don't mind waiting as long as I get $50 for the SP.

Will they even give they give me $50 of cred for my SP if I'm using it towards a Wii and not a DS?
my serial number was scratched off and they still took it. however they did take all my information and my fingerprints. I guess the city of lynnwood requires you to take fingerprints. i believe i got the only ds in the seattle area.
whats your zip code?

I went in today and traded an extra GBA SP for a DS lite. the guy was filling out the form then i had to sign it and take a thumbprint. i read it real fast and at the top it said State of Florida Pawn Form. WTF. He said they have to fill the form out for the police just like a pawn shop. has anyone else had to do this? if so what state are you in? maybe its just florida.. thx

btw i got the last ds but i was told the trade in didnt work unless they were in stock they had to scna the ds to get the discounr so no giftcards :whistle2:( i have another sp i wanted to trade in..

i fricken HATE EBgames.
check this out: website says they open at noon on Sundays, so i get there Sunday morning at 11:15a.m. to stand in line with everyone else...
...only there's no line...
...because, despite what the website says, they actually open at 11 on Sunday. :bomb:
they were all out of Wii (gone in 15 mins?) by the time i got there, and here's what i learned from the "oh so helpful" sales ass-ociate who was clueless about the trade-in promotion when i mentioned it:
- they don't know when more are coming in.
- they only get half a dozen in if even that at a time.
- you can only use the credit you get for your SP or GC right then and there
- no rainchecks on this offer
i've been calling every store in my area every day to see if/when they should be getting more in, but nothing. so pissed. what's the point in having this offer if there's no way for you to possibly redeem it? it's not like there's anything on the Wii that i really wanna play (except for Rabbids - go figure...), it's just that i haven't used my GC since RE4 and $50 is a good trade-in deal.

offer ends this sunday, so fingers crossed.
*sigh, says the sad panda*

They got into a lot of trouble a couple of years ago in FL when they bought some stolen property and refused to give it back to the rightful owner even when the insurance company and police dept. confirmed the serial numbers. It took a couple of print and television news stories for the lady to get her system back, but she only got cash/store credit for the games because they were already sold.

I just traded in my sons' SP which I bought at launch and the serial # was completely worn off as well as the edges of the system itself. I had no problem trading in the SP the girl at GS took it w/ no questions asked. The only problem was that they only had pink DS so I took the pink one and hopefully they get some onyx DS soon so I can just swap it. Unless anyone here has a new onyx DS willing to trade for a pink DS? Anyone? it's for my sons' Bday...really.

Many states have pawn laws and when you trade in systems it requires you to fill forms etc..

Being someone who works in retail, I gotta say that I wouldn't really blame the associate for what he told you. If it's the company's policy to not give rainchecks, he can't give you a raincheck. Especially if he doesn't know when Nintendo is shipping out more DS' and Wiis, like pretty much every other retail store. Don't take it out on him. :p

scottsdale az has pink dses and will not let you trade in gbasp for credit if they are out of stock. with a little phone calling i was able to nab the only black lite, there is a white one sitting at tatum/shea if you're fast enough. i also had to fill out a pawn form but never had to with any other trade in.

I'm going to call around today, and if I find a Gamestop that has a DS Lite... it might be time for the Gamecube to go.

I figure that if I ever want another Gamecube, their price is only going down from this point. I'm pretty sure I can find one right now for $60.00, and the eject button on mine is starting to go out. ;)

Edit: Nevermind, I forgot they require you to have a controller with the system. Since I plan on still playing Gamecube games on the Wii, I don't want to give any up.

Was able to do the trade here in Los Angeles. Got an onyx one. They (the store on Sunset and Western) still had their pink one so anyone in LA still has luck.

Traded in my GBA sp (dont forget ur charger!) for $50 and got Onyx DS Lite for $91 after tax. Warm/Lukewarm deal.

Just scored an Onyx for $86 after tax with a GBA SP trade in. The SP was in pretty worn condition (serial number worn way gone). They did not fingerprint me like a criminal, but did take my name and address.

For those looking in the metrowest MA area my calling around as of this morning showed:

Waltham MA: Has Pink DS in stock
Everett MA: Has Pink DS in stock
Watertown MA: Sold out

good luck!

My EB games got 4 in 2 black ones and 2 pink ones. When I got there both of the black ones were already sold, I was able to get one pink one. Finally had a good enough reason to get rid of the SP that I had.

Almost had it. I walked by Gamestop on Thursday and checked in on a whim and they had a Wii in stock! At 3 in the afternoon! But only one and were unwilling to hold it while I ran back to my house (15 min. tops) to pick up my Gamecube. They wouldn't even let me leave my girlfriend at the store and have her hold onto it until I got back. Needless to say by the time I got back to the store it was gone.

There won't be any more Wii in stock until some time next week when the trade-in is already over. Way to go Gamestop.

It's too late now but for your future reference, dont forget you can return unopened products to GS/EB for full refund. So in this case, you could have got the Wii by paying for it in full, go home, grab your GC, come back and ask for refund then do the trade.

If the GS/EB person trys to be an ass, then you might have some trouble... but in general I dont think there is anything they can do to stop you from doing this, as long as the item is unopen.

That's what I had to do when I unexpectedly found the DS on a shopping trip, that GS was too far from home so I didnt even try to ask them to hold it for me. Instead, I brought the DS at full price, then went home to get my SP and did the trade in my local GS. No problems.

Better luck next time mate.

Yea, similar situation.....sorta >.>

I called 10 EB/GS and one Planet X, no Wii's...and one told me they'd get more in on Tuesday....-.-

What do you guys think about the possibility of this deal showing up again in the next few months? I, like countless hordes of others, want to get a Wii, but in a perfect world, I can get some trade-in credit for my obsolete little purple lunchbox. Thoughts?

Sorry for the tease. Am I allowed to change the thread title for a thread I didn't start? 'Cuz I would have. My apologies to anyone else who got excited because they thought this deal was back.

This has probably already been asnwered, but does anyone know if the SP trade in is just for the fat ds or the ds lite?

*Shoots dinaboo in the face*

jk
I saw the thread title and was really sad I was going to have to get rid of my SP for credit that I could hopefully switch to a Wii. I need three GBS/SP combo to play PacMan Vs. The fact that this is old is a bit of a relief.
