Wii Hardware/Accessories Questions Thread
Well I'm just answering for what's out now. Who knows when Brawl will be out, and what exactly will go down for that.
At this point I would wager that Brawl gets tweaked for the Classic controller.

An extra button and analog stick on it than the GCN controller and it could drive extra Classic sales (assuming Nintendo needs to move those more).
Can you use the classic controller to play Gamecube games?
I doubt it, honestly. But who knows what Nintendo will do.

This might come in handy for other questions. As for the Classic on GCN games:

GameCube games are played with GameCube pads. Can they be played with the Classic controller too, for those who don't actually have any GC pads?

Nintendo: Nintendo GameCube games can only be played using Nintendo GameCube controllers. The Classic Controller will not work on these games.

I have a couple controller questions. They mainly have to do with moving them around to other people's houses to play with...

1) How are you guys differentiating your controllers & nunchuks? They're all the same, but it seems like they're emphasizing the "your own personal wiimote" thing and I'd obviously want to make sure I take the one with my profile home with me. I'm thinking we're going to get skins, since I'm not quite comfortable mutilating our controllers with stickers yet. I have no clue what to do with the nunchuks.

2) How do you guys carry them around without the buttons being pressed? I just have them in a plastic bag, but the buttons keep getting pushed. The lights are constantly flashing, and I feel like I'm watching the batteries drain away.

I haven't ported mine around at all, so as yet no suggestions there.

I got the 3-pack of controller gloves from Target ($25). Zelda green, black/gray, and gray/black. They make the Home/+/- buttons a bit hard to hit, but they're pretty comfortable. And my fiancee wants the pink one sold by itself. Whatever floats her boat.

Nunchuks don't matter, though, and no gloves for them anyway.

anyone else have issues with the cursor being shaky after downloading the update? when I first got my Wii the on screen cursor moved very smoothly with the Wiimote motions. Now after downloading the update, the cursor is very very jerky and shaky if I move the remote with any sort of speed at all.

Anyone else have this problem ?

I've been having slight problems with that the last day (first Red Steel, thought it was just the game), but this morning in the channels as well. Might move a little to see if it's just some sort of interference. Keeping in mind that I don't know if there have been any updates since the setup ones that I did four days ago (I would assume no).

Does anyone know if the Wii can be hooked up to a PC moniter. My moniter is a nice flat screen but all my T.V.s are 10 years old CRTs. I remember Nintendo saying you could at E3 05 but I'm not sure if the feature stuck.

They have not released a VGA (or DVI) cable, so currently the answer is no.

For some strange reason the Wiimote that came with the Wii is the only wiimote that can turn the Wii on, and whenever I go back to the main menu, that wiimote is the only one that can control the interface. Is this happening to anyone as well? There has to be a way to switch which controller is the main one right?

I read over the operating manual, but I'm still confused about getting it online. Can someone help me out? I have a cable modem the connects to my PC via Cat 5 cable. I have usb ports on the modem and PC. What do I need to do to get the Wii online?
