Anyone playing Harvest Moon?
I've been playing it, and I enjoy it. I was a big "SimFarm" fan when I was a kid, so this fits right into that niche. I'm not very far along though, I'm still only in the first spring and haven't done much more than plant potatoes/turnips and cut down trees.
Anyone playing Harvest Moon?
Ive been playing off and on. I like it more than the recent ones. I never got a chance to play this one since it goes for a high price. Im really enjoying it, and wondering when/how to get livestock.
where the fuck is smash bros? even if not that, at least give me more n64 games...
If Japan didn't get Smash Bros. for their launch, I have my doubts that we are in line to receive it anytime soon.

SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE

Now it says "No"

SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE

RR, add in "www" to your links.

All people requesting Squaresoft RPGs: Don't get your hopes up. Square's president (or VP) said last year that they don't think the Japanese audience wants to go with digital downloads. The chances of these games appearing (Secret of Mana, Final Fantasies 2 and 3, Chrono Trigger, etc) are slim. It also doesn't help that they could re-release them on the DS/PSP and charge $30 bucks a pop, and people would greedily eat them up. (Which is not a dig against gamers in general, as I'd buy them without hesitation.)

If they do show up, it won't be for another 6 months.

I'm including Super Mario RPG in there, but since Nintendo published that, it has a drastically higher chance of showing up. It was rated by the ESRB last year, and it was said it would show up, but it didn't. Square might have something to do with that, but I'm not sure about rights and whatnot.

The point is to stop hoping for them to show up.
See? This is why we need a gay Harvest Moon. 2 gay guys on the farm would mean not only would all the work get done fast, it would be a FABULOUS farm as well!
fuck yes.
fuck yes.
Thank you.
This makes 2 people.

ACTUALLY, I think 2 Lesbians would be better provided they are in proper flannel attire & trucker hats.

Hmm.
Gay Farmers: Decked out farm, looking nice and growing the best looking crops
LESBAINS: 10x more stamina, overall better work

The above all being true, I imagine once they have been rereleased, if that's what they do (FFIV is a given, the others not official), they'll get around to putting them on VC simply because in addition to the millions they made on handhelds, they'll get people to buy them yet again. But it definitely won't happen before we see remakes/ports.

Oh, and yes there is a Wii game coming out, it's already out in Japan.

EDIT: And here's a review of the import. Note that the game isn't actually called Harvest Moon Heroes according to Wikipedia. Nice journalism there, IGN.

I was about to come back and correct myself because I just searched for that shit! I was reading on GameFAQS message board..and the game seems awesome.

Also, Magical Melody is getting a Wii make, but it looks like JUST for Europe? I never played MM, so I'm curious.

I've heard Harvest Moon 64 is one of the best, anyone have an opinion on that? I'd love for it to come out eventually on here.

HM64 is the only one I've played extensively (played a bit of the SNES and GB games too), and it had me completely addicted for weeks. I barely did anything else. That's probably why I haven't touched the series since then, I played it so much that the thought of more is kind of scary. Although Tree of Peace does seem pretty cool...

Ok so the Wii Harvest Moon WILL be called Tree of Peace?
All I know is that you can get fuckin Ostriches. That's all I want. I think I read somewhere that there are PIGS too!!

Not only can you get an Ostrich,
but you can ride it like a horse. And, you can adopt a fuckin' penguin.

Sold day one.
Thanks :)
Ahhh.. a gay Harvest Moon. What a great day that would be.
I'm pretty sure all the Harvest Moon games are already gay ;).

I kid, I kid. If I wasn't so obsessed with finishing Zelda before I buy another VC game, I'd already have it. In related news, my sister is furious that I found a Wii before her.

Actually, I found out in Harvest Moon DS: Cute, the girl version you can sorta be a lesbo.
You can give gifts to the girls and you can have a BEST FRIEND ceremony and your new BEST FRIEND lives with you!!

I must get this. LESBIAN FARMERS FTW

And Nintendo of America censorship FTL.:bomb:

Sounds awesome though. Dammit, you guys had better not get me addicted again... My final coming the week after Brawl is bad enough, if I'm forced to get another Harvest Moon game I may never pass another class again!
I'd buy that Phantasy Star asap. Phantasy Star IV was my fav, tho.
Of course, you can't go wrong with some Phantasy Star. I think the general consensus is that 4 was one of the better ones, if not the best. I remember it made me cry.

I played so much Eternal Champions when it originally came out. It's a really terrible game. The Virtual Console is great for making me aware of just how accepting I was of crappy games when I was 13 years old.

Oh shit son, I don't want to spoil lilboo's party but there's going to be many happy people (including me) come Monday.

EDIT - Er, waitaminit... My source might've been wrong. Recork the champagne for now.

Wii-kly Update: Two New Classic Games Added to Wii Shop Channel

Some gamers get skeptical when Roman numerals populate the title of a game. But make no mistake – this week’s offerings are no mere sequels. They are some of the most highly regarded classic games around. So stock up on some Wii Points™ to battle the Dark Force or complete an action-packed trilogy.

Nintendo adds new games to the Wii™ Shop Channel at 9 a.m. Pacific time every Monday. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week’s new games are:

Ninja Gaiden™ III: The Ancient Ship of Doom: (NES®, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone – Mild Violence, 500 Wii Points): Join master ninja Ryu Hayabusa, last member of the famous Dragon Clan, in the third and final chapter of the legendary Ninja Gaiden saga. Ryu is framed for FBI agent Irene Lew’s murder, and it’s up to him to clear his name. Defeating superior life-forms created out of “life energy” called BIO-NOIDs and avoiding enemy ambushes are among the many obstacles which Ryu faces in this unpredictable adventure of mystery, deceit and destruction. Noticeable changes to the game-play mechanics include Ryu’s ability to grab on to horizontal surfaces, his reduced falling speed and altered jumping maneuvers, and visible power-ups. Help Ryu defeat the forces of evil once more and discover the real culprit behind Irene’s death as one of the most loved trilogies in video-game history comes to a close.

Phantasy Star™ II: (Sega Genesis, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone – Mild Animated Violence, 800 Wii Points): Hailed as one of the greatest games of all time by fans and media alike, Phantasy Star II is an RPG that features an epic story line and turn-based battles. Play as Rolf, Nei, Rudo or several other characters as you navigate through the Algol star system battling the evil Dark Force. Build your characters, select the right weapons and armor, and take on the forces of evil through various missions as you find the right combination of characters to complete each objective. Experience the magic once again in this great sequel.

Thanks Josh, I just saw that too!
Nothing exciting for ME, but I know other people will wet themselves for Phantasy Star II

What do you mean "will"? I'm already on my 3rd pair of pants.

I may give this game a shot, since I can use a good turn based RPG game. But we'll see.
I want more import games, damnit!

A pretty decent week for release. I am eyeballing Ninja Gaiden III, but I wont be buying it due to the fact I would probably not get far with it . The second one on the NES kicked my ass, lol.

Er, I tried PSII back when Sega was selling it for PC. It was an RPG of the "level-grind for hours and get lost in huge dungeons without a map" variety. Not for me.

Whoa theres gonna be more than just the usual animals?! One step closer to that Emu farm of my dreams!

We need Master System games on the VC - Phantasy Star I is still my favorite of the series. I just played through it again about a year ago on the GBA, and would love to play on my TV without having to drag my Master System out of storage. Also, I want Alex Kidd.
