Well, Sega has announced that they're releasing these two games this month: Puyo Puyo 2 and Powerball. And, apparently the Earthbound masterpiece was taken out of Brawl, so we can probably count that out.

1. Feh @ Sega. IMO, not the best of choices. But that's fine.
2. Yes, isn't that insane? Why would do they this? I really don't understand these decisions anymore.

EDIT: AND WHY HAVENT YOU UNGRATEFUL fuck FACES COMPLIMENTED THE PRETTY BANNERS!?!??! THEY ARE AMAZING AND WE SHOULD BE THANKFUL THAT THE MAN HAS OFFERED TO DO THIS!!! YOU SLOBS!

Wow-za. Your ability to find creepy emoticons never ceases to amaze me.

So, now I've found conflicting reports about whether or not EB in a masterpiece in Brawl. But, no hardcore proof.

I've read in a few forums from people who do have the the North American version of Brawl that is indeed not in the game. For whatever reason, we don't know.
If this IS true (and most likely it is) there's only 1 real question: Why? With Brawl being this big and the game now supporting TWO characters from the series..Earthbound not being apart of the masterpieces makes no sense whatsoever. However, games like Super Mario Bros will be available. You know, if you are playing Brawl, you probably NEVER played Super Mario Bros

I'd love to see the complete list of masterpieces in the game.

At Brawl Central, I saw a post saying that someone at Smashboards had confirmed its inclusion; however, I didn't see if this was right as I was too lazy to register and otherwise the search function is disabled.

But, the real question is: Which is the better power in Kirby 64, exploding ninja star or fireworks?

I haven't played in a week, but the fireworks are SO much fun!!! *bounces & explodes*

Some of the double powers are kinda, feh. It's so much better when you mix them. What was the exploding ninja :whistle2:s

Puyo Puyo 2 is a fantastic game, but I already have Mean Bean Machine so I can't see myself spending another 800 points on its sequel. Still, if you don't have MBM or Kirby's Avalanche, you owe it to yourself to pick that up when it comes out.

And yes, Nintendo is super-fuck stupid about the VC. I think they just don't understand the internet - I have a feeling that the people making the net-related decisions are old dudes like Miyamoto and Iwata instead of the young people that have actually been online before.

Bomb+Cut

I think snow+lightning turns Kirby in a refrigerator?
Yeah, that's fridge Kirby. Haven't paid much attention, but does the food from the fridge replinish your health ?
I have no idea. I think it might disappear before you turn back to normal Kirby.

If there is a god, it is clearly biased towards Japanese people. I appreciate lilboo trying to right this wrong by raping Japanese people, but Nintendo already raped by asshole too far. There is no excuse at all for this BS. fuck you Nintendo, I'm playing EarthBound on my PC. Shove EB and EB0 in its fully translated glory up your ass Nintendo because clearly they're not coming to the US VC.

I wouldn't say never - there's demand for it, there has been for years, and Nintendo is definitely aware of it at this point.

Also, given that we've already got a few import games on the Virtual Console (including Sin and Punishment, which is one that I'd never expected would make it to America in any form), there's definitely precedent for Mother to be released here.

That said, it'd be an awful idea to not release the game in America. I never had an SNES and I'd buy it the first day it's available, and I know that there are a ton of people who'd get it just because Smash Brothers has made them curious who Ness is.

I think nintendo is like apple is some ways.

Take for instance the iPhone SDK. People bitched and moaned for it to come out. Now that it's out. Well it's pretty fucking nice. I love it. It answers a lot of questions.

With nintendo they've announced pay and play and dlc at GDC. So, I think Nintendo is trying to make sure it's good when it comes out.

Also FFC:My Life as a King is coming out in Japan this month and the game is a 1 gig or over a gig so it will start to answer some people's questions of running games off a sd card and what not. Also possible gh3 dlc for the u.s. maybe...

Nintendo takes it's time cause it cares in some ways about quality like apple. They try somewhat to not put a shit product on the market.

But I would also guess earthbound in april or may???? It's going to happen soon..

Just a couple more weeks but thankfully brawl hits store selves tomorrow to get my mind off of this topic.

I think Nintendo stopped the leak, wherever it was, and we won't get news of Virtual Console games on Fridays from now on. Sadness ensues.

You're probably right, but if they care about quality, how about putting a stop to those shovelware games and bring back the Nintendo "Seal of Quality" label to its games.

My guess is because Nintendo probably get complaints from the whiners saying "Wheres Earthbound/Super Mario RPG/any other highly anticipated game" once they seen the news leak. It's kinda like when Major Nelson announces the XBLA game(s) for the week or other DLC and then people bitch in his site about the DRM issue.

Wii-kly Update: Two New Classic Games Added to Wii Shop Channel

Got enough challenge in your daily routine? Chances are that basic everyday tasks — getting to work or school on time, walking the dog, taking out the trash — aren’t enough to keep you firing on all cylinders. Luckily, Virtual Console™ is close at hand to help you test your mettle in fresh and unusual ways. Whether you’re rescuing a kidnapped pal or mastering a set of mind-bending grid puzzles, this week’s new arrivals, imported from Japan, offer a refreshing break from the late-winter blahs.

Nintendo adds new games to the Wii™ Shop Channel at 9 a.m. Pacific time every Monday. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points™ to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week’s new games are:

DoReMi Fantasy: Milon’s DokiDoki Adventure (Super NES®, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone – Alcohol Reference and Comic Mischief, 900 Wii Points): This is an action game where an energetic boy named Milon sets off on a great adventure in a cute fairy-tale world. Piccolo is a village in the country of Fantasia. One day, they hear from the fairy Alis that songs and music have disappeared from the forest. Suddenly, the wizard Amon appears, grabs Alis and vanishes with her. The brave Milon must now go on a journey to rescue his kidnapped friend, with his bubble shooter as his only weapon. Along the way, he’ll need to retrieve five legendary instruments and stars by defeating Amon’s minions. Get ready to enjoy the fun and comical action of this charming game.

Puyo Puyo 2: Tsuu (Sega Genesis, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone, 900 Wii Points): The object of this head-to-head puzzle game is to clear your grid of falling patterns called puyos by forming chains of four or more same-colored puyos in a straight line or one of several geometric patterns. What makes this a challenging two-player contest is the fact that when you clear a chain of puyos from your grid, it drops a random piece of filler onto your opponent’s grid. The more puyos you clear, the more you fill your opponent’s grid, and if you can clutter up his grid enough to fill it to the top, you’ve won the game. An intriguing backstory makes this an amusing experience for one or two players.

There you go.
Thanks Kendal!
What's this DoReMi game?! I never heard of it!
Type the game into google and look at racketboy's site and then go to his link to the rvg fanatic review, shut up, get rid of your gay avatar, and buy alien soldier. Apparently there is a duckhuntesque minigame in this short action platformer.

Reminds me of Bonk, Adventure Island, Bubble Bobble & Sonic in a Link outfit set in Super Mario World

I may get this game eventually (clearly I will be playing Brawl too much this week), but it def looks like one of those games that should be played because, well, it never came here.

They give us games we never got here (and that's awesome!), but they just don't want to give us Earthbound? LOL I don't understand.

Although I'm probably the only one here that cares , does anybody know if the DoReMi game is any relation to the anime series of a similar name (last seen on 4kids TV)? I would guess not given that this is a old game but perhaps the tv series has gone though several iterations?

No relation. It's a sequel to Milon's Secret Castle for the NES which is also on the VC.
You run out of DS games there, Vinny?
Assuming you're referring to why I'm playing 2 of those Brain games, then no. I just don't wanna get into any long games- I want some games I could play and put down without feeling the urge to pick it up again with Smash Bros. coming out tomorrow.:)

I'm worried that with Brawl out this week that great-looking DoReMi games will go un-noticed and will hurt future import chances of other games because of "poor sales." :whistle2:( I may have to make it a point to pick this up.

You know , when I saw the title for the game I actually thought about that , especially when they mentioned he uses a bubble gun. But the design difference seems so big.

Hehe. This makes me laugh.
INSTANT BUY.
Yeah, me too. It looks awesome.

Hmm DoReMi looks like Super Mario World with the style of Little Nemo: Dream Master. The levels look kinda short but this has some type of charm that is just telling me to buy it, lol.

I may buy it down the line, and by down the line is when I play something other than Brawl

loving brawl right now..but DoReMi may warrant a purchase...wow so i guess with brawl out...there is no way they will release Smash 64 on VC for sometime now...

I see, I guess the title and the press release:
"Wii-kly Update: Two New Classic Games Added to Wii Shop Channel"

Confused me, as they used to say two games added to the Virtual Console.

Recommendation time:

If you like side-scrollers at all, buy DoReMi Fantasy. It's fantastic--good graphics, controls, secret areas, minigames, etc. I just bought it and am only through the first world, but I can't recommend it enough. It's the best VC release in weeks.

This is why I love the VC--I would have never heard of this game had it not been for the Virtual Console bringing it out in America.

Edit: Forgot to add--the game hasn't been translated at all. The game does a good job of letting you know the story through cutscenes, but it still may turn some people off.
Where Do You Find This Console???
The Wii has been out for 16 months....try actually looking for one.
