Since my Wii is the only console hooked up to the internet, the obvious answer for Megaman 9 . Also the Classic Controller is fucking win anyway, so I guess Wii.

I'm getting MM 9 for the wii since the 360 controller's Dpad is ass.

Anyhow, I was cleaning up my gamepedia database and I need to find some cool vc title icons/screnshots to represent my purchased games. Does anyone have any idea where I might be able to find some?
Ok everyone, I'm going on vacation ^_^ I'll be home NEXT Saturday. Good luck on Monday..Hope you all get something good (MARIO RPG MARIO RPG MARIO RPG)

Later!
If we get something good this week, lilboo's going to have to go on more vacations. :)
E3 week's got to have something.
Earthboundx3 - Earthbound Zero, Earthbound released to VC, and announcement of Earthbound 2 for localization!

HO HO I might have to kick my own ass for that one.

I'm trying to track down the name of a Genesis game I loved. Does my hazy description of this game sound familiar to anyone?

If I recall, it was standard RPG-story fare with some sort of young squire character and his tiny sword. The view was top-down. You entered randomly generated dungeons that were pitch black to begin with, and as you progressed the pathways became illuminated.

I thought this game was Shining In the Darkness, and I was about to download it and then started looking at screenshots and that's definitely not it. I've poked around a bit on google and wikipedia and can't find any titles that ring a bell. Does anyone know what this game is, or did I just make it up?
Fatal Labyrinth?

Try googling that and see if it looks right.
You're the winner! Thank you!

It doesn't look like it's coming to the VC anytime soon though. Darn. I just got Baroque from goozex and the description made me think of Fatal Labyrinth and made me want to play it first.
Game had looked almost halfway decent when it was announced. Doubt I'll buy it since I don't need anything else to play, but someone let me know if it's worthwhile.
I'll probably end up getting it (it has burp-offs, and I have a five-year-old), but I'm gone on-and-off for the next month or so and don't think I'll have a chance to download much until I'm back and settled in.

Well, here's what I found

Wii-kly Update

One WiiWare Game and Two Virtual Console Games Added to Wii Shop Channel
Enjoying a nice hot dog, tending to your flowers—not exactly the hallmarks of an adventurous lifestyle, right? Think again. This week's additions to the Wii™ Shop Channel feature action and excitement in unlikely settings, from super-charged eating contests to a greenhouse that's been invaded by a certain world-famous ape. We've also thrown in a classic scrolling actioner for those who prefer a more familiar brand of fist-flying combat. For WiiWare™ lovers and Virtual Console™ devotees alike, it's a great week to get some unexpected kicks.

Nintendo adds new and classic games to the Wii Shop Channel at 9 a.m. Pacific time every Monday. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points™ to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week's new games are:

WiiWare

Major League Eating: The Game™ (Mastiff, 1-2 players, Rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older—Crude Humor, 1,000 Wii Points): The ultimate chomp-off is about to begin. Grab your Wii Remote™ controller and dig into 12 different foods as you compete against the greatest major-league eaters in the world. This isn't just a race to stuff your face—you'll need strategy to master a smorgasbord of digestive attacks, defenses and counters. These include the Mega Burp, Gas Attack, Antacid and more. And don't forget to keep an eye on your Barf-O-Meter, because if the food hits the plate twice, you're out. Unlock more than 10 characters in single-player career mode, go gut-to-gut against your friends in versus mode, or compete online using Nintendo® Wi-Fi Connection. Online play supports friend codes, random matchmaking and leader boards.

Virtual Console

Donkey Kong™ 3 (NES®, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): Based on the third game in the enormously popular arcade series, Donkey Kong 3 introduces an exterminator named Stanley as he desperately tries to protect the flowers in his greenhouse from Donkey Kong. Armed only with a can of bug spray, Stanley must force Donkey Kong higher and higher into the greenhouse rafters until Donkey Kong is off the screen and the next stage is reached. Not surprisingly, Donkey Kong isn't going to move without a fight, so he sends wave after wave of bugs, bees and other creatures toward Stanley. Not only must Stanley repel the insects in order to save the flowers, but he'll also have to keep an eye out for projectiles thrown by Donkey Kong himself. If Stanley is good enough, he'll be able to grab a can of more powerful bug spray and really get Donkey Kong moving. It all adds up to frantic fun that anyone can enjoy.

NINJA COMMANDO (NEOGEO, 1-2 players, Rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older—Mild Language, Fantasy Violence, 900 Wii Points): NINJA COMMANDO is a vertically scrolling action game released by ADK in 1992. Players choose from among three ninjas—Joe, descended from the Koga ninja; Rayar, a woman who has learned the ways of the Iga ninja; and Ryu, descendant of the famous ninja Fuma Kotaro—as they pursue the merchant of death known as Spider, who plans to use a time machine to bring havoc to the world. The battle spans seven time periods, including the Stone Age, the Egyptian era and the Japanese Civil War era. Each hero features a variety of attack options in addition to their own normal attacks, including a deadly attack that inflicts damage upon all enemies on the screen, special ninja-arts attacks performed by inputting specific commands, and a powerful attack unleashed by taking on the "shape of the beast" when three scrolls have been collected. The game also supports two-player cooperative play, so you're welcome to bring a friend and enjoy taking on the evil Spider together.

The list of downloadable games is updated weekly on Nintendo's Online Press Room at press.nintendo.com.

Got it from GAF

If anyone dl MLE, let me know if it's worth it or not. I did saw some gameplay when that Hot Dog Eating competition was on.

However, I hope someone grills Reggie Fils-Aime @ E3 about the pathetic game releases for the VC that's been going out since this year.

im surprised none of you known about DK 3. i used to play that all the time..but i did find itt awkward that now your a gardner and you have to shoot spray up Dk's ass.

Ah this sucks. I really wanted Strong Bad this week. another week of disappointment

DK3 was the worst of the arcade DK games. You could still make the argument that it *was* an arcade game, though so maybe it has some merit.

I remember playing it in the arcade (do they still exist? - I hardly ever go to the mall) when it first came out and thinking, "What did they do? Give me more Donkey Kong or Donkey Kong Jr.!"

I still wish they'd have an Arcade VC for the old Nintendo arcade games (not the "it was in the arcade and then they put it on the NES so we'll give you that version"-crap).

You know when you really have to piss, and you start pissing, and then after the first ten seconds it keeps going, and you're surprised at first, but then another thirty seconds later you've kind of gotten tired of holding your dick over a dirty urinal?

That's kind of what the VC release schedule is like right now. Except Nintendo has a line of people waiting to piss all over everything, and they've all been drinking Big Gulps for the past few hours.

Just downloaded Major League Eating and played for about 15 minutes. It's highly amusing. I picked a female character, and the first match involved eating meatballs. You lower the Wii remote to pick up a meatball, then raise the remote up, miming putting it in your mouth. You press the B button to chew, but you have to be careful not to bite your tongue. Along the way, you get power ups that you can use to attack your opponent. It took me about 5 tries to beat the first match, as my character kept throwing up eventually, which causes you to lose the match. I'm not sure if I didn't read how to settle her stomach or if it just didn't tell me, but I finally figured it out.

1000 pts. This'll be fun. You start with four character options, and it looks like at least six more to unlock.
Where was the Trauma Center demo located? I must have missed it.....I found something for the DS to download, but where is the Wii version?
Er...the only downloadable demos are for the DS.

This sounds totally stupid. And totally fun. I'm totally getting it. Thanks for the impressions!

And as for the grumbling horde, I know there are a very specific handful of games you are waiting for. Is every week that does not contain those games a "dirty-dick" week from now to eternity?

Just played a bit more. It's stupidly delightful. I've found myself chuckling a few times. I'm stuck battling Crazy Legs in a corn-eating contest. I can't seem to nibble the corn, chew, and attack with any degree of ...winning. I've done it about four times so far, but I'm gonna have to quit for now. When you quit, it makes you start all over again next time. It sort of presents a Mortal Kombat style system, where it shows you the opponent you'll be battling next.

Also, it appears the four starter characters each have different abilities. I think the girl I'm using is Jenny Lee or something, and judging by the icon, I'm assuming she can digest food/settle her stomach faster. Looks like everyone has some sort of talent.

I'm gonna hop online later and try this baby out.

What is this "cheese no longer cheese" business?

Major League Eating looks interesting, especially if (if I'm reading utopianmachine's post right) it's got online play. I might pass on it now because I'm broke, but it'll go on the list of eventual purchases under Toki Tori.

Hawt.

New fetish confirmed.

EARTHBOUND! VC normally updates around the same time as Nintendo's E3 conference.
randomly hoping for N64 smash tomorrow. wont happen.
I already have SSB on my Wii. :bouncy::bouncy::bouncy::bouncy:
Only if performed by the opposite sex, one would hope.
You're implying you'd like to see men pantomiming thrusting hot, mighty balls of meat down their throats.

Whatever floats yer boat, I s'pose.

We need more hula hoop + eating competition minigame compilations. Yes.

You leave lilboo's vacation out of this! He must really be winning that hot dog eating contest amirite? Maybe some horizontal hula hooping too

I just watched a couple videos on youtube, I didn't know it was a licensed game. It actually has Kobayashi in it!

Did it last year? I don't remember that.

You have SSB but not Earthbound? If I'm reading this the way I think you're bouncy green faces meant it, PM me.
You download the hacked vc game and homebrew it on there. Or use the emulation channels.
I actually meant that the other way but I can see my wording was weird - I figured he had the means but not the wad, and that one injects successfully, or so I'm told.
