You know what the sad part is?

I'm no longer disappointed by the number and quality of titles being released anymore since all releases since May have brought my expectations to be so damn low.

Here is my guess of what the press release will be like for when they release SMRPG and Earthbound.

Today's releases will be Earthbound and Super Mario RPG. Please shut the fuck up!

They will be available for 50,000 points each. Eat it bitches.

I loved King of the Monsters so much. I might actually get it.

Two things about SPOGS racing -
1. It doesn't look all that bad. It actually looks pretty good to me graphically and if the controls work it seems like it could be fun (the Wii has made me like racing games for the first time).
2. What the hell is SPOGS? Courageous seems to be dead-on in that they look like POGs stuck in tires or something.
KotM was always on Nick Arcade right?

I believe so...
Oh boy I remember that show. That guy had some catchy rap when I was a kid, now I go back (I think it's showing on GaS or Noggin, can't remember) and find it pretty funny.

Here is an interesting thought. Could not be releasing Earthbound or Mario RPG now, be harmful to sales if it does come out. I mean there is so much want for these games do you think people could actually be finding them other ways and playing them in disgust because they are not out and when they do come out, they already played them so the don't care about buying them in sheer hatred since it took them so long?

Just a thought.

Doubtful. I mean, I haven't bought a game since Harvest Moon. Before that, it was Mario 64 or Paper Mario. I would be more inclined to buy stuff once I run out of points on games I am looking forward to, than on little hit or miss games I know little to nothing about. I would also be buying up NES games left and right if they would just release those two game. I could stop waiting and hoarding my points. I am not buying another title until at least one of those comes out. Or if Square decides to give some SNES rpg love.

What the fuck? I finally find a Wal-Mart with clearance point cards (down to $15) and Nintendo decides to pretty much throw in the towel on the Virtual Console. There's still more stuff I need to get (Harvest Moon, BoF 2, Landstalker) but the lack of new titles is discouraging to a massive degree.

I'd think if people had waited ten years, they would suffer a few months. I played Earthbound a few months ago on my laptop, but I'll certainly pick it up when it releases.

This is another thing about the VC that pisses me off, they release these games on the VC which is great, but there is a compilation with them all. My question is why the fuck are you RE Releasing those fucking games on VC then when you could be putting out games not on those discs (crap or not).

You just saved me some points - I'm totally getting that. Thank you! I don't mind dual formats for releases - I like options. I apparently like dashes as well - they are fun.

Seriously. The best thing this week is the Trauma Center 2 demo. Please try it out. It's a simple operation, but you can try it on all 3 difficulties. I love Trauma Center.

It's already out on PS2/PSP if you can't wait until July 22nd. Emulation on the PS2 version ranges from great to fair but for $15 vs. the ~100 it would've cost on VC I couldn't really complain.

I just got a TC2 demo and played through it once. The same basic elements that made the first game so good are still around. Let's just hope they don't bring back GUILT.

Post-GUILT syndrome.

looks good. we need more lightgun games on Wii IMHO... as long as you have a Perfect Shot though...

Absolutely. The only thing I'm not sure on is how much the Wii version will cost. If it's $30 or less I probably won't bother waiting for a drop; if it's more than that, we all know it'll go on sale eventually. I can't think of a retro games compilation that hasn't.

Between the Wii and the GameCube support, I've got one of the Sonic discs, the Mega Man and Mega Man X collections, three discs of Midway arcade games and the Metal Slug disc...and there are a few more I can think of that I don't own, like the Intellivision collection. I got most of those before the Virtual Console was a reality, but getting those for $10 or $20 each and having anywhere from ten to twenty games on a disc is obviously a much better deal. :D

I know it'll never happen, but it'd be great if you could put in, say, the Sonic Mega Collection and pull down the WiiWare versions for free. Between rentals (most of the independent video stores around here still have their GameCube games) and swapping discs with your friends, they'd lose a ton of money. I can dream, can't I?
Thanks Walrus. I'll grab this at some point.
I had no idea that there was a Wii version of that collection coming out, but somebody on Kotaku mentioned it in their VC post for the week. I figured you'd all appreciate it. :)

Ok everyone, I'm going on vacation ^_^ I'll be home NEXT Saturday. Good luck on Monday..Hope you all get something good (MARIO RPG MARIO RPG MARIO RPG)

have fun!

Well, IGN gave SPOGS a 1.9. That took care of the remotest interest I could possibly have in the game. I like to tell myself with the recent weeks of Wiiware crap, that we're due for something great on Monday, but I've been telling myself that with the Virtual Console for a while...

Ah, I'm not complaining, really. Out of my two biggest wants for the VC, at least Chrono Trigger is coming to DS.

I've got a question for all of you Wii/360 owners. What system will you be buying Mega Man 9 on (assuming $10 either way)?

I'm leaning toward Wii because of the better d-pad control and because Mega Man will always be a Nintendo character to me.

But there is the whore in me that wants to see the achievement list...

Between 360 and Wii, I'd go Wii because of the ass d-pad on the 360 controllers. I'll be getting it on the PS3 because my USB adaptors will allow me to use PS2 Saturn pads to play it.

I don't own a 360, but I'll be buying it for the PS3. I'm fed up with the Wii's storage issues, and I'll take every opportunity I can to stick it to Nintendo at this point until they come up with a solution.

That'll show 'em for sure.

I am going with Wii, because it's the only console I play right now. Even if I had the other two, I think I would still prefer the Classic Controller (or sideways remote if that's an option). I hate the 360 controller and moved to the Wii because I was so tired of the PS/PS2/PS3 controller.

Yeah I'm not so sure now, I was going to get it for 360 since I like cheesemints. But I think since it is designed to pretty much be an NES game I think it makes more sense to play it on the Wii where the Wii Remote can act as an NES controller.

I have a lot of extra points on the 360... so maybe both.
