It's already out on PS2/PSP if you can't wait until July 22nd. Emulation on the PS2 version ranges from great to fair but for $15 vs. the ~100 it would've cost on VC I couldn't really complain.
Absolutely. The only thing I'm not sure on is how much the Wii version will cost. If it's $30 or less I probably won't bother waiting for a drop; if it's more than that, we all know it'll go on sale eventually. I can't think of a retro games compilation that hasn't.
Between the Wii and the GameCube support, I've got one of the Sonic discs, the Mega Man and Mega Man X collections, three discs of Midway arcade games and the Metal Slug disc...and there are a few more I can think of that I don't own, like the Intellivision collection. I got most of those before the Virtual Console was a reality, but getting those for $10 or $20 each and having anywhere from ten to twenty games on a disc is obviously a much better deal.
I know it'll never happen, but it'd be great if you could put in, say, the Sonic Mega Collection and pull down the WiiWare versions for free. Between rentals (most of the independent video stores around here still have their GameCube games) and swapping discs with your friends, they'd lose a ton of money. I can dream, can't I?
You just saved me some points - I'm totally getting that. Thank you! I don't mind dual formats for releases - I like options. I apparently like dashes as well - they are fun.

Thanks Walrus. I'll grab this at some point.
I had no idea that there was a Wii version of that collection coming out, but somebody on Kotaku mentioned it in their VC post for the week. I figured you'd all appreciate it.
