Why aren't cartoons that awesome anymore?
Check out "Chowder" and "The Marvelous Adventures of Flapjack" on Cartoon Network. They both have incredible art style (the latter especially is beautiful to look at) and tend to be hilarious. I originally liked Chowder more, but the newest episodes haven't been that great. Flapjack, however, is an absolute joy. And while I don't know his name off the top of my head, the voice of K'nuckles is one of my favorite voice actors ever (he's the Flying Dutchman on Spongebob, was the boss in Christmas Vacation....his voice just SCREAMS out pirate).

Dallow, I knew P&TB was horrid the second it got its own show. It worked well as a distraction here and there, but they couldn't carry the weight. I remember being annoyed when it got announced as a stand-alone. Tons of kids thought it was great but I knew it was trash.

Tiny Toons is ok, but the quality of the animation jumps wildly. Same with Animaniacs. Some of the shows are gorgeous, with slick, smooth animation. And then there are the ones that are total crap and look like kindergartners drew 'em.

For Chowder, it's like he ran out of good video game references and is now turning to really obscure stuff and pedestrian pee and misogyny jokes (yes, Endive is a bitch but then they had to go and make her a crazy bitch dying for a relationship). I miss the actual cooking humor, too.

Flapjack just disturbs the hell out of me. And K'nuckles is Brian Doyle-Murray.

And to make this on topic: Star Parodier, while amusing, looks confusing as hell.
Agreed.

It was originally a June title. I'm leaving the damn country for two weeks on Wednesday, and I had hoped I could speed through it before I left.

I bet it's delayed until August now...
Oh god i hope not till august. Im going to have to drop bombs on somebody if thats the case :)

Jack shit from Nintendo. Wii Music looks to be the most retarded thing ever. Animal Crossing Wii = Animal Crossing GCN. That's about it.

Nothing in the DS news? I seen that MotionPlus and Wii Sports Resorts thing. That looks neat.. but nothing new for WiiWare or announcements for the VC?
I hate that I went away during E3, but.. what did I miss?!
Welcome back, we missed you.

This sums it up, and Shiggy announced Pikman 3.

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/36819.html

Wii Motion Plus- 1:1 motion, packed in with the new Wii Sports resort.

Animal Crossing with Wii Speak (Wii Speak is a microphone you put on your tv instead of a headset).

Wii Music- A music game where you hit random buttons to make music, although the drums are one of the few instruments that are almost real.

Also Major League Eating hit the Wiiware. NO announcements about Wiiware OR the VC.

just dont want watch the nintendo conference. It was a joke. No wiiware/vc

Just wii motion plus, a new speaker system that allows you to talk to others while playing anima crossings, GTA Chinatown wars coming to DS, and Wii music is a joke!

No mention of WiiWare or VC or anything for the DS, nor any storage solution.

Horrible E3 from Nintendo.

So keep deleting your stuff guys! Maybe they will announce something in a year.

If the other posts weren't enough of an indication...you don't want to know. :whistle2:(
Well, we're getting Star Parodier and Break In on monday.

WiiWare, well, no idea on that front.
why do i have a good feeling that it wont be Strong Bad =(
Nothing in the DS news?
At the press conference:
- That Nintendo cookbook thing (DS Cooking Navi) is coming to the U.S. No surprise really, since it was recently released in Europe.
- Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars was announced. Nothing about it has been revealed, outside of a general "Winter" release date and a Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection logo on the game's site.

After the press conference was a much better time for the DS:
- Rhythm Tengoku Gold is coming to the US as "Rhythm Heaven"
- Konami revealed that they are bringing the adventure game Time Hollow to the US. They also showed off the new Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia.
- Natsume showed off the new Rune Factory and Harvest Moon games. They also revealed "Princess Debut," a dating-sim/rhythm game, and "Hi! Hamtaro Ham-Ham Challenge."
- Square showed off Chrono Trigger DS. It will include the anime cut scenes from the PS1 version, sans the load times.
- Apogee announced Duke Nukem Trilogy for the DS and PSP. This trailer they put out should answer any question that you could conceivably have about this game:

Wii-kly Update

One WiiWare Game and Two Virtual Console Games Added to Wii Shop Channel
Which do you prefer: sailing the ocean or soaring through the sky? With the latest additions to the Wii™ Shop Channel, players can choose between seafaring action and high-flying thrills. Unleash your inner pirate with a new WiiWare™ adventure, or check out a pair of side-scrolling Sega Genesis classics making their Virtual Console™ debut. By air and by sea, big fun is on the way.

Nintendo adds new and classic games to the Wii Shop Channel at 9 a.m. Pacific time every Monday. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points™ to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week's new games are:

WiiWare

Pirates: The Key of Dreams (Oxygen Games, 1-4 players, Rated E for Everyone—Mild Violence, 1,000 Wii Points): Pirates: The Key of Dreams is a frantic nautical shoot-'em-up. Sail your way across the Caribbean, cannons blazing, looting booty, running blockades and ultimately battling Blackbeard himself. The player takes control of a navy captain sent deep undercover as a ruthless pirate in order to seek out and retrieve the Key of Dreams, a valuable and dangerous cursed artifact. Rescue castaways to bolster your ship's crew, gaining performance increases to your navigation, weaponry, structural integrity and cartography skills. Collect increasingly powerful weaponry including rockets, mines, chain shot, saw blades and a flamethrower to hurl destruction into the path of your enemies. Play against three of your scurvy friends or A.I. opponents in pitched multiplayer battles over 35 levels, set in seven themed environments. Choose from different ship types that reflect your play style. Play in turbo mode if you're pirate enough.

Virtual Console

Super Fantasy Zone (Sega Genesis, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone—Mild Cartoon Violence, 900 Wii Points): The last entry in the Fantasy Zone series, this side-scrolling shooter puts you in the shoes of main character ***-***, who is on a mission to avenge the death of his father. To do so, you'll have to battle a variety of Enemy Generators to clear out the various levels and finish off the Menon Guardian at the end of the level. Eliminating your enemies will let you rack up some gold, which you can use to buy even better weapons, upgrades and other equipment. Spend your gold wisely, as each different boss you need to defeat presents a unique challenge.

Gley Lancer (Sega Genesis, 1 player, Rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older—Mild Suggestive Themes, Mild Fantasy Violence, 900 Wii Points): In the year 2025, a war breaks out between humans and a hostile alien race, and 16-year-old Lucia and the rest of the starfighter pilots in the Earth Federation must join the battle. When Lucia's father is kidnapped by the aliens, she decides to take action and hijacks a brand new prototype starfighter, the Gley Lancer, in order to try to save him. In this side-scrolling shooter, step into the cockpit of the Gley Lancer as Lucia, rescue your father and destroy the evil aliens that are bent on destroying the human race.

Is "Gley Lancer" Engrish for "'Grey' Lancer?" It looks sort of neat to me.

I like when they try to inject stories into shoot 'em ups. This one has a decidedly Japanese anime style to the story parts.

Aren't those TG titles, not Genesis titles?

Anyway,
Splatterhouse 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog on the Master System were rated (Seriously, it's actually named Sonic the Hedgehog on the Master System on the ESRB's site)
Well does this mean Strong Bad will finally hit next Monday?
wii-ware world seems to think so

Bah. You linked to ratemypoo.com and said you had to be a veteran.

"Grand Poobah" is a term used for - essentially - a high ranking official in an organization.

/bad joke+pun

Reduced to explaining a joke. What a sad day.
Reduced to explaining a joke. What a sad day.
That's what Nintendo has reduced us to. :whistle2:(

What the fuck happened to Break In and Space Parodier? Weren't those confirmed for this week?
You know you've fucked up when a guy named Sir Fragalot is angered by your constant release of games where you shoot things! :)
My mind is blown, lol. :whee:

No I like shooters, it is just I have no space to hold them on my Wii or the money to spend on them and I want to play SMRPG, lol

They should change the name from virtual console Monday to mandatory mediocre Monday. What were the last great 64 and snes games released on the VC?
They should change the name from virtual console Monday to mandatory mediocre Monday. What were the last great 64 and snes games released on the VC?
The last 64 game was Pokemon Puzzle League on May 5th.
The last SNES game was Super R-Type on March 17th.

Nintendo seems to think it's alright to disappoint.

NES and Genesis have both remained fairly steady over the course of the year.

Last SNES title was Super R Type on 3/17/2008
Last N64 title was Pokemon Puzzle League on 5/5/2008
Last TurboGraphx title was Psychosis on on 2/25/2008

I'm not exactly sure why titles on Nintendo systems have been somewhat sparse. I could whine and complain about no VC support, but I don't want to beat an already dead horse.

Maybe this is Nintendo's crazy way to address our space problems. If they release few titles, and no one is interested in said titles, they don't have to worry about running out of space. Problem solved!

Wired.com: So let's talk about downloadable games, Virtual Console. Right now, looking at the Japanese versus American Virtual Consoles, Japan gets about four games a week, four new retro games to download. Whereas in America it's been pared down to about one, maybe two games a week. What's the reasoning behind this decision?

Dunaway: It's just filling the pipeline with games, particularly for WiiWare. There's lots of games in development, so it's not an explicit decision to only release one a week, it's taking a while to get a full pipeline of games that are ready to be released.

Wired.com: Well, at one point, we had four games hitting every week in the first year of the Wii's life cycle. That hasn't slowed down in other territories. But it really has been ratcheted back in the U.S., and I'm trying to understand what's behind that decision process.

Dunaway: We've been shifting to a little more focus on WiiWare. As I understand it, we're trying to get as many WiiWare games out into the marketplace as possible, and waiting for more of the games to [pass the checking process] and be ready to go. So it's been a bit more of a focus on WiiWare, but we'll continue to do Virtual Console as well.

So you want to get all of this Wiiware out, but if you keep releasing WiiWare wouldn't that hurt sales because of no storage and the cost of a Wiiware title. People are not going to spend 800-1000 points every week on a mediocre WiiWare title (or atleast I think not), and with one-two Wii Ware games a week, yeah...

I'm already starting to consider Cammie Dunaway to be the new Kaplan, saying a lot of shit that pisses me off.

Translation:
I actually have a theory now that Nintendo is trying to actively discourage further VC releases, and wants to slowly diminish it as a bullet point for their system.

Whatever the reason, I think Nintendo might honestly try to transition VC releases into Wiiware releases, headlining the entire downloadable-game angle as something that includes "fresh new software." This will allow them to say that a Wiiware game - for all intents and purposes - is "equal" to "2-3 VC games," since it is "new" and has "new graphics" and "offers new gameplay choices."
Uh huh:
Somehow, I just knew that Wiiware would fuck up VC releases.
Yeah. You shouldn't be allowed to be this transparently shallow, being that you've got like 800 billion bucks in the bank.
