CORRECTION WIIS AT BESTBUY 12/16!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this past weekend.. out BB said no more UNTIL the 16th.. that will be the final before X-mas, I heard the same for Target.
Walmart had them today. Target told me Dec. 16-18

Best of luck hunting. Check out eBay too. You never know, someone could have them available in their area and be selling them.

And I really don't feel bad for the parents. Wiis were relatively easy to find over the summer, early fall... if they knew their kids wanted one, they could have saved a lot of time and effort and bought one then

You're kidding me? December 23rd is the LAST day to get Wii's before Christmas? I thought it was December 24th... thanks for the update ! :bomb:

Tell your source to look in the news section of ETK. December 16th with a min of 21 per store :)
 
Sorry to bump this, but I was just wondering if the TC or anyone else has gotten confirmation that Best Buy will be getting Wiis on the 23rd and NOT on the 16th?
 
just camp out over night and when they give out vouchers just sell yours to the highest bidder for liek 200 bucks that is a nice pay day
 
The more I think about this, the more I think it would be fun just to go spectate. Nintendo Wii™ -- Now with Guaranteed Fisticuffs®

It'd be sort of like going to a stock car race after they've slicked down the entire track.
 
I was lucky enough to be up @ 3am on black friday and get 2 orders to go through on amazon.com, I scored 4 Wii and a dozen PS3 sixaxis controllers, ( 2 Wiis and 6 controllers per order), sold everything except 1 controller so far. Those 2 purchase paid for Christmas and my Playstation 3 and AC..

I thought about "spectating" until the next day when I heard shots were fired. So glad I didn't.

That applies to the actual console, tickets to buy the damn things are usually handed out about an hour and half before they open the doors. What you could make some serious money with is selling the tickets before they open the doors. You could probably make close to $500 for a ticket that close to Christmas.

Just curious as to how much you resold your Wii's for. Not that I'm going to do the same thing but......just wondering.
 
December 16th sounds right. I just called target and the lady told me they were told that Wiis wouldnt be in stock until the 16th there too....

Circuit City will be having Wii's in stock on the 16th, but it only says limitied quantities per store.

Good luck to anyone braving the elements to get one.
 
I ended up getting mine in the middle part of december last year. I had to drive out of state as well because the lines were already formed at the two Best Buys closest to where I live. I was 10th in line

Still, half of the people in front of me weren't even there to get one. They already had one and they were waiting for the sake of selling their ticket off to parents who showed up around 4-5 AM at Target.
 
I know someone trying to find a Wii so is it confirmed for Target to have them on the 16th and Best Buy on the 23rd? There seems to be some confusion from reading this thread.

Last time I called my local Best Buy to ask, they said the 16th I think.
 
I think BB and target are both saying the 16th and 23rd because that's when they're GUARANTEED to get them in stock.

whether or not they get them before these dates, im not sure of...but since they're not GUARANTEED they can't say what other dates aside from the 2.
 
I'm glad I got my Wii on Amazon on BF...I feel bad for the saps who are actually going to camp out.

I may just drive up to BB, sit in my nice warm car, and watch.:lol:

Yes! Target, Circuit City and Best Buy all told me the 16th... It appears they are holding current stock until that day.
 
My BB said the 16th--which is killing me, because I'm going to be at Yosemite National Park with some friends then! Not many Wii retailers there, y'know?

However, on the 17th I'm driving back to the SF Bay Area from Yosemite, so I wonder if some podunk town's Wal-Mart or BB or whatever on the way back will have it. :lol: "Sorry guys, we need to take another break!" "But we just stopped at that Wal-mart five minutes ago!" "Uhh...I know, but um ... pit stop at the Best Buy!" "..."
 
Ive seen one everywhere I went to here in ohio since I got one.. lmao. Right place right time everytime.

Didnt buy any.. I have a conscience and dont need a quick one hundred.
 
I am going on record as of this point of calling BS on the OP in this thread sayig the 23rd. I work at BB in the media section and can 100% confirm a min of 21 per store on the 16th. There is NOTHING anywhere in the emloyee section sayig anything about the 23rd. We were told if we get any after the 16th we can sell those when they come in - and if they were in the ad for the next Sunday we would not be able to do that.

So ya - I call bull on the OP.
 
Just call stores Mid-week. I work at TRU and we have had a couple shipments come in mid-week and nobody knows we have them. A couple weeks back we actually didnt sell out for an entire week.
 
i'm happy i have my Wii already... not that i would stand outside before the store opens anyways even if i didn't have one
 
Well, I normally don't respond to threads, but I saw this and decided to set things straight. I just read the internal memo off the Employee News section of the internal Best Buy website, being a corporate employee, and this is the jist. The 16th is the ONLY day before Christmas that the WIi will be advertised. It's an ad minimum of 21, some store of course have more. Some have it in stock as we speak. Some of the stock rolling in is labeled "DO NOT SELL UNTIL DEC. 16th", some is not. If the GM approves, the store can sell any Wii's that are not marked with this "DO NOT SELL" message, but that's few and far between. They are told that after the week of the 16th (16th - 22nd) they will get drop shipments of Wii's, but do not know the exact date, just know it will be sometime in that week.

I know it's a little annoying that they hold them for days (in this case some stores will have held them over 2 weeks) but you've gotta look at it in the evil Best Buy eyes. If they advertise them, people will come. They're more than likely to get them in the store to get them to buy other things if their Wii dreams go sour.

hey does anyone know how they do it at target. Do they hand out vouchers cuz i went on the second they didnt have wiis so obviously they didnt hand out vouchers. But i dont want to go early and miss a wii i promised my cousin one cuz he always goes crazy over mine

edit also what time would bestbuy be opening on the 16th? i fear its going to be 10am which is when i have work. So target would be my only hope unless tru also gets them cuz they also open at 8am
 
small question for u guys was wondering? should i wait till the big N realeseas a black wii or get a white wii with the product replacement plan and then wait when thew black one comes ill get it with the PRP? or wait till they just realease a black one?

BBuy opens at 10 or 11 on Sundays depending on your location. Same with CCity. Target is 8am.
 
yea its 10 at my location since last time they had wiis i didnt go there since i knew they opened at 10 which is when i have work. So i was hoping maybe they changed their times due to it being closer to the holidays

I think all BBYs will open at 8am on the 16th.
 
Can anyone confirm that the wii will be availabe on the 23rd?

I would rather go to BB then Target. For some reason, I don't trust target...Never have.
 
My local TRU got in a shipment of about 21 Wii yesterday, SAT. Unadvertised. Just when you think you have it figured out..
 
Looking at the BB website it shows Fri/Sat 12/14 and 12/15 they open at 8am. So it stands to reason that on Sunday 12/16 they'll open at 8am also...Hmm though it also shows the last sunday they open at 9am. HMMMM

The Best Buy ad for the 16th says they're open 8am-11pm all that week. Extended holiday hours.
