I'm glad to see any new release, especially a Square Enix release for my poor neglected Windows Phone, but let's face it, I, and I think everyone else would be a lot more excited if this were a release of one of Square's better known games like Chrono Trigger or The World Ends With You. What I wouldn't give for a WP release of games like that with achievements.

I would definitely rather have this over a JRPG, but I have to admit that I'm getting bored will all of the puzzle games. And I love puzzle games...it's just that there are too many of them that are so similar.

I was just thinking the same thing. I don't even like JRPGs that much, but I had a blast playing Final Fantasy on my phone, maybe because I could play small chunks at a time on the go. I'd like to see games with more substance on the marketplace, and not this never ending wave of puzzle games. I feel like very week it's just another game with stages you need to three star.
Sonic CD free on Nokia phones, but without Xbox Live Achievements
I followed the link to the store from the article, but I get an error trying to download it. It says either it's not supported on my carrier, my phone's software is out-of-date, or it's not available in my country/region. When I search in the store, only the $4.99 version appears.

I'm using a Lumia 920 in the US on AT&T and running the latest software update, so I'm pretty sure none of those error messages are true. Anyone know what might be up?

The Sonic CD free offer has apparently ended. But it wasn't set up right and a lot of people had trouble downloading it.

I hate puzzle games and I actually like koozac a lot.
Doesn't feel like a bejeweled clone like everything else . I like the math angle, the achievements are easy, and ill gladly give Squeenix my money so they'll port more of their jrpg classics.

Also anybody looking for a skulls of the shogun or carcassonne achievement buddy hit me up.

Any idea how long the "sale" price of SotS will stick around? I'm a little short on cash this week, and aside from buying Xbox points using store credit, but WinPhone isn't so flexible in payment options. :whistle2:(

As Paul stated a few days ago, the SotS devs haven't stated when the sale will end. They're just staying mum on the subject so whatev.

That being said, kinda jealous the W8 users are getting Monster Love Candy

OK, question. I haven't bought any windows games before. When you get to the screen that says TRY or BUY, if you click on buy, is there a second screen to pop up before actually charging you? For this promo, I couldn't download the game for free, but was sent download directions to my email. When I click on the link, it pulls shows the game at $4.99, so I didn't want to be charged. Any help would be great. Thanks.
Free Earthworm Jim HD and Assassins Creed via WMPU
Thank you.
Nice, thanks a lot, already had Assassins Creed but I'll happily take Earthworm Jim for nothing :bouncy::applause:
Same with me. Earthworm Jim controls like shit on a touchscreen device, but free is free. EDIT: Well I just got 50 Gamerscore in about 10 minutes of play. I guess I shouldn't bitch too much. :)

Yes, there will be a confirmation screen if you tap "Buy", verifying the price.

Thanks for the heads up on Earthworm Jim. Nostalgic for sure!
Also, anyone here played the Assassin's Creed game? Any good?

Picked these up last night when I saw an article from one of my daily sites. I wonder if more were like this and not noticed. Anywho, awesome chance for free games.
Damn, guess I missed out on the freebies. Showing as regular price now.
Yeah seems to be back to $5 for each, I wonder if it was just a mistake.

Same here. I hate missing out on a freebie, but considering I already owned Assassins Creed, and the Earthworm Jim port is horrible, I can sleep easy. :)

These never showed up as free for me and I checked multiple times.

I think my app store is messed up. I just realized today it isn't pushing app update notifications for some reason - I have to search for the app in the store and manually update it. Pretty big issue when a setting update is out there and I can't do anything about it.

Anyone else having this problem? It's really ridiculous... This is my third Lumia and I thought this one was okay, but that's not the case I'm seeing. The dust under the front camera lens is driving me crazy too.

Just read and commented on Part 3; now looking forward to Part 4.
The dust under the front camera lens is driving me crazy too.
If you blow some compressed air into the earpiece, that should clear it up for you. I have to do this to my wife's Lumia 920 every couple of weeks because she periodically loses the ability to hang up or use the menus when making a phone call (the sensor gets covered in dust).

Had to use the web link, afaik the marketplace hub never reflected the price as free.
I think he just means he's looking for a bigger response because of how important this is to Windows Phone gamers.
Exactly. Improving the state of Xbox games on Windows Phone is something that should be important to anyone to plays Xbox WP games. I realize it's not as immediately gratifying a concept as getting a free game or a new deal, and here we are at a deals site. But I honestly feel everyone who plays these games and thus has an interest in Xbox WP deals should care about this subject and have something to say on it.

So my friend had a blackberry and it keeps messing up on him. He's gotten replacements countless times and is looking for a new phone. I offered to sell him my old windows 7 phone and it sounds like he's going to buy it. My question is will he be able to play the xbl games I purchased on it under his gamertag. If not that's fine.just curious.

Unfortunately, no. Changing the GT wipes the phone.

hot damn. 3 new Nokia exclusives ( Yahtzee, Zuma's Revenge, and Bejeweled Live +) and ibomber defense is back on windows 8 phones but people are still reporting problems. Good day. :D

Glad to see more Angry Birds on WP7, but annoyed it's not an Xbox Live game.

Again, if Microsoft isn't going to support Live games (one of the main reasons I went for Windows Phone), and put Achievement-enabled games on iOS (Wordament), I might as well get an iPhone next time I can upgrade.

Angry Birds Seasons pops up on WP7 as well

Sony's Playstation 4 announcement and what it means for Microsoft and Xbox

Busy day!
Commented on all three articles. Finally getting my butt in gear and posting on all of Paul's AWESOME articles!!

If Angry Birds Seasons was Live enabled, I'd have impulse bought it for 99 cents. But seeing as it has no achievements, I'm fine with regular angry birds. No sweat

Same deal. Tired of the shit support for live games. Thinking of going back to Droid, may check out iOS as well.

Was excited to go WP8 ,but don't really see the point now.

I'm not quite to this point yet, but I will get there is something doesn't change before I'm ready to upgrade from WP7.

Fortunately for Microsoft, my backlog of WP7-only games is pretty long, which will keep me occupied while they get their sh*t together...or decide to call it quits.

Just got a Windows Phone 8. Any recommendations on must have games and best free Xbox ones? Also, EastX, when do you expect the DOTW to start up again?

Best free:

Wordament
alphajax
Flowers
Shuffle Party

I myself would get all the free games just because they are free but if you want to avoid some I would avoid Gun Bros and Bug Village.

As for must haves......

Zuma(Nokia exclusive)

Sallys Salon (this one is just a guilty pleasure)

Angry Birds any and all. You can get em for .99 each so why not

PacMan Championship Edition (pricey but a blast)

Final Fantasy (hours of playtime.nostalgia overdose.but pricey

Full House Poker

Civilization

Oregon Trail

Cut the Rope

Ilomilo

There's others I really like bit they aren't necessarily must haves. I'd start with those first. You can also get trials of most games and try them out.

Thanks. I picked up Wordament, and it is a lot of fun but seems to be temperamental connecting to the network. It would be a million times better if I did not have to connect it online.

I think I will definitely try out Civilization and Angry Birds.

Thanks again for the recommendations.

Prob was due to the Azure outage, has been fine for me since it came back up. Also take a look at Taptitude, tons of game and usually an update a week.
