In all seriousness, though, http://www.marissasbunny.com is about a toddler with a disabling epileptic condition. I'm trying to spread word of the disease, as it's not well known, often misdiagnosed, and often fatal. If you've got a minute, educate yourself on the site- you never know when a bit of knowledge might help somebody you know get diagnosed early.

Ouch... Epilepsy? I've had Epilepsy since I was probably born, but the first time I personally know of having it is when I was almost 3 years old I believe. I had a Grand Mal seizure and quite possibly a Fever Al at the same time. I was instantly placed on a medication that tasted like fresh fruit. I was taken off of it because my parents split up. The next time I remember having seizures was in 6th grade. My teacher kept telling me to pay attention and I kept claiming that I was and he wasn't saying what he said he was saying. I went in for tests and was diagnosed with Epilepsy a second time, which was the first time I was really aware of it... This is mainly because of the "Missing Time" effect.

There are several different types of seizures. They can be triggered by various means and one of the most common means of triggering them is flashing lights. For me, flashing lights don't seem to trigger them anymore, but I still experience Missing Time.

These days I am not taking medication for it because it seemed to make it worse. As for the medication I was on after I was diagnosed in 6th grade, it is called Depakane (Valproic Acid)

There is also a side effect from seizures... When I was 16, my mindset was similar to that of a 14 year old. The side effect varies from person to person.

Alright... I voted and tweeted. @Ozarot

I voted. Would be nice to get that extra 2gb of ram for this computer. It's in serious need. Good luck everybody else.

I voted, but I'd rather enter through a post here than an email. Good luck spreading the word on this condition through the web site, and good luck to everybody entering the giveaway.
you know i do remember hearing about this webpage.
Marissa's Bunny has been all over the place- Gabe and Tycho hosted it at Pax08, Bungie had it shortly thereafter.

Thanks for all the entries, guys! The more entries we get, the cooler stuff I can giveaway going forward!

Voted for you on the Blogs site. I could totally use this as two of my sticks recently took a crap so I'm only currently running 2GB's which isn't very fun. Thanks.

Good luck getting awareness for this condition out there.

I swear every time I see the site name I think it's from some porno site... >_>

Just in case you thought your efforts in voting for marissasbunny.com were in vain, I received an email overnight from a parent who found the site on the babyblogs index. She's getting her kid to a neurologist after being stonewalled by her pediatrician for over a month.

Had she not seen the site, she would have stuck with the pediatrician's recommendation for longer. So, thanks for the votes! We'll call this one a 'save' thanks to you guys!
