-Purpose of Thread-
This thread will be used for posting limited-time availability custom video game inspired shirts (that was a mouthful). There are a lot of websites that sell video game inspired tshirts, but this thread will only be used to alert CAGs to shirts that are available for a limited time and/or at a special price.

Please post a link to whatever video game shirt you come across and include the game that inspired it (like "Mario"), the price if it isn't indicated in the website description below, and if possible a pic of the shirt (use spoiler for the pic to speed up page loading time).

Visit teemagnet.com for tracking the shirt of the day across multiple websites.

-Sizing Info-

Some people like to get shirts from online stores one size larger than the shirts they normally buy (like if you usually wear medium, buy large) since they can shrink a bit after the first wash. Unfortunately it's hard to come up with a general rule as sites seem to change shirt brands at any time.

Always look at the site's sizing chart before making a purchase. It may even give you a hint if you should buy one size larger than normal. If in doubt, I go one size bigger and shrink as necessary. Imho a slightly bigger shirt looks better than wearing a slightly small one.

It's a little more simple than that - by using two properties, than they can be considered parody and therefore not in violation of copyrights.  To add another layer to further skirt copyright laws, if the design is a combination of two properties, the property holder A would need to either:

A) Join in a lawsuit with property holder B in a case against the shirt provider

B) Be able to prove that their copyright is priority over the other.  For example, can the plaintiff prove that the shirt is a parody of Hell's Kitchen, rather than Cooking Mama?  It's a very hard thing to prove in court.

Also being that most of these shirts are only available for a day, the whole "cease and desist" isn't really an issue.

Some copyright holders are fairly active in defending their property - There's a reason you don't see many Disney, Marvel, or Star Wars designs on these sites, and if you do they're fairly subtle.  At least compared to all of the Doctor Who ones.

I'm not saying that it's illegal, just that it's lazy/predictable/ugly. There have been plenty of beautiful fan arts as shirts that aren't crap like BioPuff or RoboMario. And for fuck's sake, enough of the Bioshock falling traces.

Totally agree. These shirt companies are creatively bankrupt.

If we're talking about designs we're sick to shit of...

Oh, I wonder what's on Teefury today. Oh, the 20th fucking Doctor Who shirt this month. Rad.

So what designs would people want? I would echo being tired of Dr Who and Bioshock Infinite.

If I had any artistic ability, I would make a mashup of Earthbound/Charlie Brown. Instead of Charlie sitting in front of Lucys psychiatric help stand, its Ness sitting in front of Hint Guys Stand drawn in Charlie Brown style.

Artists. Make this design so I can wear it please.

Anyone happen to have an opinion on Shirtpunch's fitted shirt quality vs the regular shirts? I've only bought the regular tees from them (and only one with the Gildan label).

Thinkgeek.com has all of their apparel at 30% off using code BOTHSLEEVES until 11:59pm ET 7/28.  They have some gaming shirts, such as Minecraft ones (and obviously a lot of other cool shirts).  Spend $75 and get free shipping.  I just dropped more money than I really should have...

Shirt Woot has a Video Game derby this week so if you've bought something from the site before you have a vote. You can see the current top 9 designs that have the potential to print. Nearly everything in the fog is Mario, Link or Pokemon... change that.

Dat KK shirt...

I haven't bought from Yetee before. How do their shirts compare to the other sites?
I only have one shirt from them (from a year ago) so things might have changed (anyone see what type of shirt they use? Mine is a Gildan) but compared to Teefury or shirtpunch, they use a softer (and thinner material). Feels decent, the printing doesn't seem to be laid on as thick but it's held up to some washing. Definitely more of a fitted shirt, but I found the sleeves to be distractingly short. I don't know if this was just a one off thing because of the color or if all their shirts are like that, but the sleeves wouldn't even go to the halfway point of my bicep. Maybe they just want me to work on my biceps more.

^ Thanks for the review. I'll give them a try since that KK shirt is so sweet. From the pic it looks like the sleeves aren't too short, so hopefully that was an old or one-off problem. I'll post a review when I get it.

^^^Yetee still uses Gildan Not Eric, I'd say you're pretty spot on the the review. I've never noticed the sleeve length difference though. I just got one in the mail and it feels about the same length as Shirt Woot's old AA shirts.

Just to clarify one thing, when I mentioned the printing not being laid on as thick, I actually view that as a positive because some shirts (especially with larger designs) just feel like having a shield on your chest. Not comfortable, so I try to avoid bigger designs (and wish sites other than Woot would give the design dimensions since the pictures are sometimes not accurate) And then it still manages to come off in the wash so it's all for nothing.

As for the sleeves, maybe it's just my farmer tan making it more noticeable. After trying a yetee shirt on again it doesn't seem as bad as I remembered, although the sleeves do sit about an inch to an inch and a half higher up on my arm (time to go to the beach and tan?). Either way, the shirt is comfy and I'm willing to give it another shot for that KK design. If it's the same thing then maybe I'm just stupid and buying the wrong size.
