So today I went to a local GS to pick up a copy of Final Fantasy IV used with a few other little things. So I go about my normal day and use my edge card with no issue since I have a few hundred dollars on it.
Well the employee gives me back my receipt and says you have $83.14 left. Now that struck me as odd because I have $314.16 on it 7 days earlier when I went to pre-order Madden 09. I ask him about it and he says all I see is $83.14 and there is nothing he can do about it. Frustrated as hell I go to my car and get my receipt that I purchased Madden on in full. I go back in and the manager tells me there is nothing he can do.
Even more upset I call my "good" GS and speak to someone who tells me to come on in and he can take a look at it for me. I get there (short drive luckily) and the employee looks it over and says you sure you bought nothing between now and then. I didn't and he calls the hot-line and finds out that there were 4 other transactions on my Edge card that day I paid off my Madden pre-order. He then asks me about one of the employees. I tell him he was shaddy and made a comment about the amount of credit I had on my card when I paid off the pre-order. I really didn't get a good vibe from the guy when I left the store.
So after further digging that the Manager did (which I will be going to his store only since the people are trustful and helpful) we found out that this GS employee re-printed my receipt to get the Edge Card number then used it to buy Soulcalibur IV, NCAA 09, and other things. He also told the person that rang him up that my girlfriend Lashawnda told him to just go ahead and use it. I don't have a girlfriend named Lashawnda needless to say.
Now I am going through the process of getting my $114 dollars back which might take a few days. Not sure what happend to the employee yet in regards to his job and if he will get arrested and charged with theft.
But I would like to use this as a word of caution. If there is a employee that looks shaddy, don't go to them. If they make a comment about your balance keep an eye on your balance. Keep your receipts. The manager said that he has heard about it before so it might be common place.
