Voting is now open for Worst Online Retailer.
This award goes to the Online Retailer that, in your opinion, sucked the most in 2006.

BestBuy.com
Buy.com
CircuitCity.com
GameStop.com / EBgames.com
ToysRUs.com

Most definitely toysrus.com

At least with GameStop/EB you know what you're getting into (ie: used games may come without manual/case). TRU.com is always full of surprises - be it cancelling orders that were previously listed as 'Inventory found in warehouse', items not showing up on your invoice, or the major problems they have integrating with Google Checkout. Not to mention continuing to leave items for sale that they know are out of stock.

Also, if you try to cancel an order, you'll run into a few more problems. Firstly, you have to cancel by phone. This means navigating through an annoying menu system, and then waiting on hold for up to an hour. Once you actually speak to someone, rather than cancel the order on the spot, they have to 'submit a request to cancel' the order - 'usually cancelled within 24 hours of the request.' In the meantime, if your order ships, you'll have to ship it back to them to get a refund.

But I'm not bitter.

Circuit City. Lack of any in-store pick-up or store availability on any games or movies (that I've ever seen) makes them worthless.

ToysRUs.com

Saying "Out of Stock" on only the cheapest Wii game out of the three game deal?
fuck YOU TOYSRUS

The BBB report on them ain't pretty, either.

TRU.com for the useless site they have now.

CC.com isn't that far behind, and I ech o what neocisco said, no in-store inventory indication and no in-store pickup for games is what has less of my business going to them for online orders. If they did, I'd cut down half my online ordering with BB.com .

GameStop for telling me that my Wii Nunchuck would "ship within 24 hours" when what they really meant was that it will ship in 4 weeks and arrive AFTER the New Year's party I specifically ordered it for. Bastards.

ToysRUs.com, bad inventory control, bad website design and too many order cancellations.

Amazon is a close 2nd though for the XBox 360 Core $100 fiasco

I think I'd have to give a tie between EB/GS for the garbage they send you for your order....and TRU ever since they parted ways with Amazon.com because of their lack of a decent selection, high prices and high shipping costs.

I know they are not a game retailer really, but they do sell the xbox 360...

RITZ MOTHERfuckING CAMERA.COM THOSE BASTARDS HAD THEY WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE...THE WORST.

I had to wait at least a month for the 360 after the whole giftcard/google checkout fiasco!

ebgames/gamestop. They charge 5 dollars more for a game than everywhere else for no apparent reason.

Plus they open most of their items, stuff the discs in sleeves and call them new.

circuit city for their black friday 3am additions. I ordered it, got the confirmation email, my credit card charged, it was sitting in their wherehouse for 2 weeks, then i get a cancelation email saying this item is no longer in stock.. bastards.
2nd on the amazon 360 mess,

Toysrus.com because I had 2 different orders canceled after being delayed horribly. I didn't even get any e-mails saying my order was canceled it just disappeared as if I'd never placed it.

I have to go with GS/EB on this one, too.

Bundles, no older games, and general shipping quality. My Castlevania box came all crushed in because they cheaped out and mailed it in an envelope. Thanks, GS!

Buy.com for canceling several of my video game orders this year. Mainly, one for some Xbox 360 games for less than ten dollars.

Walmart.com

they're site says the order didn't go though, and then there's a charge on my card.. took almost two days to cancel the order.. idoits..

buy.com

...an order I placed for Shadow hearts back in February 2005 still waits in the "cancellation requested" phase. I really should call them or something to get that canceled. ;)
toysrus.com for fucking all of us over that wanted FF3 for 20 bucks
that and having EXTREEMLY slow delivery and slow response times. By far the worset of the year.

Target.Direct (via Amazon.com) for taking PS3 orders and cancelling them without notice. The orders just disappeared days after being confirmed. Yes eventually a letter was sent but it was much too late.

I wish I could say all of the major game related online retailers (They all screwed up their PS3/Wii shipments for many people). Radio Shack took orders for consoles that it never intended to have available and orders canceled days later. Amazon.com for promising advance warning when PS3 and Wii would be available yet never did and honored orders when their page made them available due to a glitch. Gamestop, Walmart, Target, Sears, MicroCenter, Circuit City all accepting more orders than they had stock available for and not telling their customers so they could order else where. Overstock.com for selling Wii's for close to $800.00 (just console) as MSRP. Not to mention all of the ridiculous bundles that forced you to buy magazines, warranties and other junk you don't want.

Definitely TRU... very poor navigation, very poor stock info, and slow service in general.

Circuit City as well for having terrible online shopping (shows OOS items, but doesn't tell you until you add it to your cart). And EB/GS for all the bundled PS3/Wiis.

EBGameStop for going the extra mile to ruin a good online service. They REALLY went from a damn good site I used quite a bit to a sinkhole I rarely even visit anymore.

EBGames/Gamestop. Tax + Shipping sucks, but buying used games in poor condition with no case or manual sucks even more.

There has to be a better way for a game shop to survive. Somebody, please!

Gamestop.com because of crap conditon/disc only games/ no real sales, CAG promotions/nothing good, etc.
