If it meant that you got to live?

morbid question, but I've been obsessing over Battle Royale, and have begun an informal poll with all my friends.

So, if you were the last two survivors, and at least oen of you MUST die, no matter what (no escaping this time), would you kill your best friend, or would you sacrifice yourself (either through suicide or letting them kill you), so that they may go on living?

i dont know if id say that, people are already talking about it with no objections (sans you) perhaps a better wording would be "i dont want to talk about that" and no one is making you.

my best friend's a girl. i would kill her though, but i would have to shoot her in the back because i wouldn't be able to look at her eyes while doing it.

:shock: Wow. I definitely couldn't do it if it was a girl. I think I'd die first, either way, but it'd be an even easier decision with a girl.

rather start a terroist group called wild 7 :p in truth im too nice to my friends so i would die. my boi has so much to look forward too even as do i but i sac my life for my boi anyday
 
Well, since I have no real friends and not a "best friend" then I voted yes. But, in reality, when I get out of school, I will be putting my life on the line for people I don't even know.
 
I'd die. Especially if the lady who raised my was raped by the biggest asshole in the world, and if my best friend has a big ole hole in his head and died before my eyes. By the way i've only read the first volume.
 
Hmm...see, now I don't have any friends at the moment. Being emotionally dead and all I wouldn't really have a problem when it came down to being one of the final two. Having said that, I doubt I'd ever make it that far. I'd get too caught up in killing the scum classmates I thought natural selection should have taken care of years ago and get careless.

Theoretically though, I think you'd panic in the last few seconds and them fight or flight instincts would kick in. Once that necklace starts beeping all you care about is keeping your own head.

So are you a guy? Cause guys are only friends with girls because they either want ass, or have already gotten it. There is really no other reason why guys and girls are "just friends". Guys know what is up, but girls really think the guy doesnt want ass.

My best friend is a girl and I would give up my life in a second (if I had to) if it meant that she could continue living.

Some girls are just friends w/o the stipulations you assume...but they are sometimes few and far between...

Nearly 80% of my friends are female, and I can say w/o a doubt there are many I wouldn't want anything from...
 
I prob. wouldn't have much problem. It's a means to an end. That said I know it would be a brawl since neither of us would allow the other to die for us so we would have to fight it out.

I disagree. I have alot of female friends that I would never consider getting into a sexual relationship with.

I'd have to actually encounter the situation to know what I would do. If some divine force said one of you have to die, i'd probably start attacking the divine force or something and get blown up anyway.

Or if the bridge was gonna give way, I'd throw them onto the other side while it was being cut and then scramble to save my own hide.

There's always a third party involved, and i'd probably take out the third party while making it work out for everyone.

That's a tough call, man. You're right, for the most part. Either the guy wants the girl or the girl wants the guy. In this case, I had a massive crush on her, we both knew nothing would happen (though it came so close), and it just dissolved into loyal friendship. In some ways, I still care about her. I'd do anything for her. I've even 1upped her with gifts on birthdays and christmas, usually outdoing her boyfriend. It's pretty funny. Right now, she's the only person I could picture myself with, only because I know her like the back of my hand.. I probably know her better than myself.. anyway, i'll keep it to a minor tangent and say that yes, for the most part, you are right.

Does it matter? You know, since one of you is going to die. Its a matter of how much importance you place on yourself compared to your best friend, even if your friend was of the opposite sex and happened to be Vida Guerra.

As for me, I'd rather die than kill someone close to me.
