Would you recommend Alan Wake?

I'll add that the dlc is good but feels really different in how it flows compared to the game. I think the dlc is def worth playing though.
 
Awesome, under appreciated game, definitely worth getting. As for DLC, I played both, but the last one, the write, was the better of the 2.

I personally felt it basically just rehashed the ending of the proper game. It was OK, but in my opinion totally non-essential.

The OP is looking to pick up the game on the cheap, so i'm personally saying he should not spring for additional paid DLC. It did not improve my enjoyment of the game at all.
