Why don't they just take the N64 gameplay and put it on xbox with online play, better graphics and an updated roaster???
What is the wait for?
because it's not that easy. AKI owns the engine, and I think EA owns AKI. If THQ lost the WWE license and EA picked it up, they'd license AKI to do the engine.. and that'd be perfect. The closest thing you'll find to the No Mercy engine is Def Jam: FFNY, which is made by AKI, so it uses a decendant of the engine used on the N64.
EA bought AKI?!? Where have I been? I guess that would explain why AKI is used for DJ. Is that why THQ stopped using it in the first place? I could see why EA would want it though... *thinks about WCW Mayhem, then curls up and dies...*
I THINK. Don't quote me on the whole EA-owning-AKI thing. They may just license them out to make DJ.

They only make wrestling games, so they probably just hired them to do DJ.
I hope so, because I would love for the Revolution (and even the GCN) to get the AKI engine back into their games...
