X-Men Origins: Wolverine - Gen. Discussion & Info

The cut scene is really awesome, but it's fucking ridiculous that I have to sit through 5 minutes of that every time I want to play the demo.

Holy hell what a game! It's intense and plays like an action movie the entire way through. Definitely a sleeper hit.
I just beat gambit, how much longer do I have to play this...?
not too much longer. I think there's another jungle flashback, two more boss fights, and that's it. If you can manage to grab a boss and throw them, it takes a TON of health off of them. Moreso than a few regular attacks. Weird.

Cool, thanks. I don't think the game is shit, it's just these types of games get on my nerves because of the repetition, but it's really not bad at all. Plus, I love X-Men/wolverine, so it helps swallow the pill.

Buying this off a friend for $22. Wonder if I'll have the same desire for the game after blowing through it that first time. Demo was fun on 2 playthroughs. Just wish it looked nicer. Like that Batman demo.
How long does it take to get though the game on normal?
If you take your time and look for the dog tags, easter eggs...etc. I'd say a good 10-12hrs, if you rush through it you can probably beat it in 6-8hrs.

10-12? I know I didn't spend over 6-7 hours on it,but not sure what the exact time was. I rushed some parts of the game. It was better than I figured it would be.

I think I beat my first and only playthough at about 5 hours. Took a few days though, I can't play games, let alone that wolverine game, that long. :p
so there is no way to go back through the game with my leveled up super cool Wolverine?

W. T . F Ravensoft?
"Replay Mission" on the main menu. You play the missions again, you can skip cinematics, and you have all the upgrades.

Starting over again on hard with a super cool Wolverine? No. Why? Because, well.. the game wouldn't be hard.

Just beat it, this was a awesome game and well worth the money. It was longer than I expected too. It is a shame they didn't have more time to polish this more. Lots of freeze glitches and camera glitches but overall this game is awesome, lots of fun.

Not being able to continue to upgrade your character and find missing dog tags on the harder difficulty is stupid and lazy.

So I'm a little stuck...

I'm not very far in the game at all so hopefully someone can help me here. I'm at the the part in the lab where you have to move a shield in the way of the machine guns. However, every time I move it, it springs right back to the same position on the far wall. I tried roll dodging through the guns but they just leveled me. How do I make the shield stay in place?

Thanks!

P.S. I LOVE this game! I'm not a Wolverine or X-Men fan at all but this game has got me hooked.

Well
What I Did was have them move ALL the way to the other side, then I sorta timed it as to where the gun was looking and where the sheilds were and then i used the dodge button to get through there. But maybe somebody else can help out or maybe thats the only way

Ah thanks. I'll try that tonight and see what happens.

@Scorch; I find it lazy that I can't just start a game over on hard. Who cares if it isn't hard I would enjoy the crazy fighting.

totally agree that you should have the option at least. Hell make it so I don't get the achievements at least let me choose though.

I'm almost done with the game, but I need to wrap up a few achievements. The only way to do that is by replaying the missions, right? Not through a new game? Do kill counts continue?

Kill counts do indeed continue if you replay missions

Picked up this game the other day .. absolutely loving it. Huge Wolvie fan so this will have plenty of replay value for me.

I really enjoyed this game overall. The first 3 chapters were great and the last two were a bit disappointing, but like I said, overall, the whole package shines.

I never have been into comic books and are not familiar with a lot of characters, but obviously, I know of Wolverine. I was surprised to see how much of a bad ass this game made him though. He is an absolute beast.

I will probably do a Hard run at some point because the game was just that much fun.

just finished this and its probably the best movie game ever....but having said that its still a rental and far from perfect...

i didnt like all the repetition with bosses/jungle level, some just too long levels, buggy collision and a few other glitches especially with the final boss

Paid $37 for it and it's well justified, especially if you're a fan of Wolverine. I probably would have paid $60 had I been able to afford it upon release day.

Single player games tend to fall in price fairly fast though so waiting a bit was fine with me.

Bought the Weapon X Arena on XBLM and I'm having a bit of fun with it. Going against an army of Wendig0 Prototypes is absolutely redonkulous.
Hopefully it will be better than the movie. Just thought I'd be the first to throw that out there. :D
i liked the movie except for the fact that they screwed deadpool over. Deadpool was awesome as well as hilarious in the comics, now hes just... yeah.
Having difficulty escaping the spillway (water) HELP!!!
Is that the one where you're in the tunnel on the back of a truck? Lunge forward from truck to truck by lunging to the enemies in front of you. Super easy.

Its the Weapon X level. I need help when your running away from the water

For some odd reason I don't even remember that level, even though I already beat the game. Sorry...try Youtube to see if you can find any strategy videos.

Just lunge when you have to. Don't try to overthink when you'll be able to do it. The camera makes it hard to judge.

I know the likelihood of someone being able to answer this, especially after all this time, is unlikely but I'm going to ask anyway. I have a brand new 360, didn't transfer anything over from any other 360. Completely clean. However, when I put in my copy of Wolverine I just got, it shows everything is unlocked. I did play through and beat the game the last time I had a 360, but that was a different console completely. Where is it pulling this information from? The gamertag?

Yeah. A lot of Acti games do it. I know MW2 does it too.
