This is NOT TRUE!! I was told by a rep over the phone this was the case once, but he was wrong. In some bullshit way he was trying to extend my acountwith a12 month card. I was reverted back to silver, because I was told thats how it's suppose to be done, Then it comes down the pipe you can't revert a guy to silver once he is gold. I go threw a horror story being told I'm going to loose my gamertag and achievments and evreything. Then two hours later my acount reverts to silver and then I enter my one year card in the acount managment and now I'm back to gold for 13 months.I love my 360 but MS sure hires jack a$$es for customer support
 
This deal is very YMMV as many CC's have either sent these back a long time ago or have sold them a long time ago. Then again your reading this from someone who scored a XBox Live 1 year kit with Tetris Worlds for $7.96 a year ago at this time. :D
 
Didn't see one at the CC here, though there might be one hidden from long, long ago. :lol: I don't think I've ever seen any of these cards in any store, at least maybe not for a few years.

It was originally $69.99 (same price as the newer package I saw at CC that was not marked down even though it was the old branding), then marked down to $48.xx, now $34.98. They had 3 of them but opening the box now I see the Crimson Skies is not shrink-wrapped so that is going to hurt re-sale on that (great game but I've had it for 2 years). I forgot to check the expiration date on activating the 12 month sub but luckily it is 3/31/07.

I think the $19.99 is a safer bet unless you don't have Crimson Skies already but that wasn't an option for me.

I don't have to worry about it, since another CAG hooked me up with the earlier version of the kit, the v.3 kit with PGR2, headset and 12 month sub. Last night, in fact.

Was cheaper than the $34.98, I think it was $17.49, I think. Though, if the sub is expired, I'll just call XBL support and have them add a new code.
 
WTF?? I entered in the card info and it took away my Sept. 06 expiration I had already paid for and started my 12 months from TODAY. Now I have to get on the phone. How complicated can this be?? I ALREADY PAID FOR THROUGH SEPT. 06, I should be good now through Sept. 07 not Apr. 07.

I think that is the one my CC didn't even have marked down even on a scan. Damn that is a good deal. I'll see if I can fight my way through Xbox tech support to get this fixed or I got screwed. Kind of glad I didn't stock up now as having 3 would have been harder to explain than having 1, I imagine at this point if I had two more to put in they wouldn't even work since it wants to use day of entry as Day 1.
 
I'm on the phone with support right now and they are acting like I have to talk to the right dept. to get the refund (but they can't figure out how to actually get me to that dept.), you're probably right it will happen automatically but now they have me wondering.

I guess they want you to be credit card or pre-paid, not both. Probably if I entered more than one card right now I would be fine, it just gets confused if you try to mix and match.
 
The rep I just got off the phone with insists you can't stack pre-paid cards, and in fact if I entered another one they wouldn't refund the days I lose if I enter another one before my new 12 month period is up. Since it looks like all of the original Xbox branded ones can't be activated after early '07, I guess this was a one time thing. Still a good deal.

That sucks. You used to be able to stack them.

Indeed you did. I had a 12 month card that was still in a valid subscription block that I tacked a 3 month card on the end off. Guess I'll have to wait until July (when my 3 month runs out) to add in my 12 month sub.
 
Well, I'm just going off of what she told me, if anybody has proof otherwise, I would like to know it so I can stack.
