I think at this point people could likely do better on all of these with the exception of El Shaddai. Though it was super cheap at 240pts a few months back (so I assume most people own it from there). El Shaddai is a game I want to love. It's a game that on the surface I should love. But I just can't get into it. It's so repetitive and the worlds, though lovely, are empty and dead and just boring. I have a feeling it's another miss for me this week. At least we have DR2 in a few days!!!
Felt exactly the same way about El Shaddai. Picked it up for 240pts too, so it was worth the gamble.

Wow, more GoD stuff that's still either more expensive than retail, more expensive than previous deals or both.

They must really want us to buy Charlie Murder. Know what I'd have liked to try? Ducktales.

Sorry. I should maybe say that Kinect as the main controller to play games beyond dance games was a flop. Even a game like Wreckateer would be better with a controller. It's less the precision and the tech that's the problem than the overall idea of it being used as a main gameplay device. I think I own about 17 Kinect-required retail and about 8 Kinect-required XBLA games and pretty much all of them suffer from the fact that it's just not fun to stand and play a game with your hands (Dance games excepted) rather than using your fingers to just move buttons on a controller. Even games I've felt do a pretty good job of precision (Gunstringer) - are games that would be better if you gave me a controller.
Fair enough. Though there's still potential in what you said earlier with Kinect games being implemented with controller because I'd rather not have full on experiences like third person or FPS games, using my body because in that ways it just feels gimicky and tacked on. There's just no fun in pretending to run or move with the Kinect using my hips or legs, it's just awkward unless somehow 2.0 has created a holodeck like experience with one screen.

Is that REALLY the reason they won't let Ducktales come through on time? Because of this crappy "Summer of Arcade"? If so, thats entirely ironic since you know, Ducktales would probably sell a whole lot more than everything in this combined.

Hitman HD at $15 is tempting especially for 3 games, but I already own Blood Money and $10 is usually my GonD limit. I guess I could try to get rid of my disc copy now and/or wait for a $10 price.
The Hitman HD on the marketplace only includes 2 games. Blood Money is separate (and also on sale). From the description on xbox.com:

The Hitman HD Pack includes HD remastered versions of Hitman 2: Silent Assassin and Hitman: Contracts. Hitman: Blood Money is available separately through Xbox Live Games on Demand.

Funny you should mention Steel Battalion Skonson, because its on sale at NewEgg http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?SID=bDO4iAPrEeOr_E58Rx4W9Q0_uimf3_0_0_0&AID=10440897&PID=1225267&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-cables-_-na-_-na&Submit=ENE&N=40000516%20100168&IsNodeId=1&name=Xbox%20360%20Games&Page=1
Although by the way you speak of it, its probably not worth $7.99.

Damn another weak of lame deals. I was hoping we would get at least some DLC like last year. Lousy Major ran when he saw these week deals coming. Didn't even give us the courtesy of giving us the dots ahead of time..

hey guys i got random question i have about 75 dollers worth ms points..now with all the new games about to come out when do new games usually hit the dashboard compare to when they come out in stores?

Brigmore Witches is up, shame Xbox.com doesn't use real currency yet for those of us stuck with it or I'd buy it from work.

Yeah, I've seen a ton of copies of Deux Ex at K-Mart for $10 at one store and $15 at another. El Shaddai is tempting, but I'm only a few days into Skyrim and have Payday 2 on the way (as well as quite a bit more backlog)

I Wouldn't be surprised if it's due in part to Sony possibly having a 30 day timed early release since they got that "exclusive" edition with the old school packaging.

Yeah but isn't it on everything else other than Xbox today?

This year's Summer of Arcade really didn't need to happen when three of the games are only timed exclusives. And hell, Charlie Murder could well end up on PC since that one Russian guy ported Vampire Smile leading Ska and MS to hastily announce an official PC port.

MS seems to have forgotten what exclusive actually means, seems like more and more games are either not coming out on Xbox or are also on Xbox.

Deus EX

Hitman Blood Money

Hitman HD Pack

EL Shaddai

Just Cause II

http://xbldb.com/offer-history/price-changes/price-decreases

Good stuff but I already own everything.
Man, Deus Ex has been $9.99 so many times it's not even funny. I'm not sure or not, but I think I also got it through PSN+. $15 for a digital copy? :speaktothehand:

The same can be said about Just Cause II - and I *know* I have that one through PSN+.

El Shaddai is good for $5 though,, Only decent deal in this lot, yeah I know it's been $3 but that might never happen again.

The problem, as always, is that the MSRP for digital is just way, way behind the de-facto MSRP at retail.

I honestly regret biting on El Shaddai for $3. Your mileage may vary but it's just, well it's not much of a game. It just wants to tell it's story about angels and look very interesting. The fact that you have to play through it doesn't seem of much consequence to the developers.

I was just thinking today that this is the first time I'm not interested in any Summer of Arcade games at all. Even when they go on sale. Ducktales I would pay sale price for but I can't see paying full price at all.

Ducktales is about the ONLY thing I'll pay full price for right now...maybe the turtles game if it goes on sale quickly, but beyond that, there's nothing much for me in the next month or 2.

Sure hope Major Lazy puts up the upcoming marketplace deals and items. Without that, this thread gets completely derailed.

C'mon sale on Banjo games for next week!

Could not disagree with you more about El Shaddai but each to their own. I wish I'd been able to buy it for that price!

I may get Charlie Murder from SoA but that's it. I could buy another game if the rebate was decent but sod the sodding soul pack.

I see MGS 2 & 3 will be 50% off next week. It's currently $20, so it'll be $10 next Tuesday. Hopefully it's cheaper on the other marketplace. I'm excited for this sale since I've never played MGS before.

So next week will have Metal Gear Solid 2&3 for 800 MSP and Peace Walker for 800 MSP too. ZOE 1200 MSP. Still a bit pricey I suppose :/

is this a good speed for a 360 usb or is gonna be laggy? anybody?

i think i will be suckered into charlie murder tomorrow, it looks like a new and improved castle crashers sorta.

also to whoever mentioned it, so what if SSD's are pricey? they are, and they're a total luxury for pc gaming. i wouldn't recommend one at all if you don't have $100 burning a hole in your pocket. i like mine to have my pc boot up really fast but unless you play MMOs religiously you won't even notice that much of a difference

Good speed for 360, I had an 8gb version of this and worked great.

I just ordered one.

As someone who knows pretty much nothing about computers and storage, is a used flash drive safe to use?

Yes, but you won't have to worry about it anyhow. It's being sold by AWD (Amazon Warehouse Deals), which means it will be brand new, probably still sealed with possibly a bend/wrinkle in the corner of the cardboard packaging.

Amazon doesn't like to sell bruised-up merchandise so they use AWD to sell their scratch & dent packaging at an awesome discount.

I still think Sony paid Capcom to keep it off XBLA for a month. I know that would seem weird since it's releasing WiiU and Steam, but Xbox is probably the most direct competition Sony has. But like someone said, Ducktales will sell better than any of the SoA games, so why would 360 voluntarily push it back a month.

Or maybe Xbox actually wanted to include Ducktales in SoA but Capcom didn't want to give them timed exclusivity, so they just said screw it and pushed it back. Who knows.

As for this week's and next week's deals, they're nothing extra special, but they're some of the better SoA deals we've seen in the last couple years.

Ended up grabbing Friend or Foe this week. Edge of Time is much easier to find a disc copy for and the other prices aren't enough of a deal (aside from WoS & Shattered Dimensions, which I already have).

Thank God he finally posted. Good timing too, as I was losing hope after this week's meh deals (aside from El Shaddai). I have all the games this week (Hitman HD Collection Limited Edition & Deus Ex on disc, El Shaddai & Just Cause 2 digitally). The worst part is that Square-Enix has a much bigger catalogue they could pull from, even among their Games On Demand (since they're not putting arcade games/DLC on sale deliberately to avoid competing with the Summer of Arcade after last year's SoA had hugely disappointing sales), like Sleeping Dogs, Tomb Raider and Hitman Absolution to name a few.

Just Cause 2 & El Shaddai have both been cheaper by the way, I picked up the JC2 GoD for $10 not too long ago, definitely worth it.

And the Hitman HD Collection GoD does NOT include Blood Money (just like MGS HD does not include Peace Walker), it only includes 2 (Contracts) and 3, which is a nice alternative for those who don't want to rebuy Blood Money, I think. But the Limited Edition disc has been $25 on many occassions, and comes with a code for the Sniper Challenge, as well as a nice artbook. It's worth the price if you don't own any of the 3 titles already. Also, both Hitman HD Collection's GoD & Blood Money's GoD have 1000 GS each.

As for Deux Ex, a completely revamped edition (the Director's Cut, formerly exclusive to the Wii U) is coming this Fall/Winter. The boss battles in particular were noticeably improved (as they were originally the only content outsourced from the studio), it comes with the Missing Link DLC, and I believe a new set of achievements (for those who care). So you might wanna skip on this anyways.

Next week is looking pretty good, some simple math has led me to see these prices (for the US, anyways):

- Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3 HD - $10 (Great bargain, highly recommend)

- Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker HD - $10 (Good deal, don't see it getting any cheaper digitally) (The collection that includes all 3 titles is around $30 currently for the discs, and by the way both GoDs have 1000 GS each)

- Zone of the Enders HD - $15 (Recommended as they're great games but you might wanna get the PS3 version if you can, it got an extra patch the 360 version did not that fixed the low FPS, disk price is around ~$20)

- Deca Sports Freedom - $10 (No idea about this game, sorry.)

- Otomedius Excellent - $10 (Don't let the price tag fool you, you can pick up a brand new disk copy on Amazon for

I'd probably pick up Silent Hill Downpour for $5, It's already been $10 at the MS store site multiple times.

Either way nice to see more Games on Demand sales. I hope this trend continues.

I guess I'm the opposite of you, I hope the trend stops. I'm ready for some good XBLA sales, there's quite a few games from early 2013 that I'd love to pick up at half price.

Bioshock Infinite dropped to $40. Probably a permanent drop.
Wouldn't surprise me. I'd imagine that most people got tired of waiting for the DLC (which is going to be absolutely worth it) and got rid of their copies already after being done with the story (as there isn't a whole lot of replay value, since there's only one ending) and that post-launch sales have staggered due to spoiers and rentals/the used market. But they made a killing anyways, so don't feel too bad.

On the games with gold, do you have to download it right now or can you download it later outside the promotion window as long as you have it in the purchase history?

Awesome!  Siient Hill HD Collection and Downpour for around the same price as the physical copies on sale on the Microsoft Store website.  I was kicking myself (not literally, of course) for missing out on them on the sale, considering they sold out already.  Looks like I get another chance.  Would've liked to get physical copies, but oh well.

As for this weeks Deal of the Week, considering how good of a sale Square-Enix's franchise sale on Steam was last month, not to mention the current Gamefly PC sale, this sale is a definite pass.

Edit:  It seems that the Silent Hill HD Collection is only 33% off.  I might still get it if there isn't a physical copy for cheaper.

Not mentioned by major coming up is some dlc for mark of the ninja. Saw an ad for it on the dash that linked to just the game, but used Internet to see that some levels and weapons pack are coming aug 16. For 400 msp. Sweet.

Sales this week seem kind of weak, but Rumble Roses for $10 the week after seems pretty interesting. I suppose I'll need to re-buy Gold, but I need to practice VF5 again anyway.

No, I don't have any shame about playing porn games.

Hopefully they'll put the main game on sale as well. I missed the last sale.
