Thanks for that page with the Xbox deals. Downloading the trials for A.R.E.S., Ninja Turtles, and The Bridge.

I'll throw in a recommendation for M.A.R.S, which to me plays like Fallout, and The Wolf Among Us which plays like The Walking Dead. Heard some negatives on Deadlight but from what I played it looked like a nice side scroller.

Am I the only person that doesn't like Mine Craft?

For those who need a "TOO MANY GAMES WUT DO I DO?!" guide.

I Am Alive (Checking out a video won't hurt your experience, so make sure this is for you first, but I enjoyed it)

The Bridge (Puzzle fan? LOVE that feeling of solving something you had NO idea how to complete at the start? GET IT!)

Eternal Sonata (Not a legendary RPG but for the price you will get MANY hours of enjoyment. For classical music fans, even more to be appreciated here!)

DuckTales Remastered (Cmon It's DUCKTALES)

Brothers (Amazingly, with no real story, the story told here nears the top of my list of this whole generation)

Wolf Among Us (Not only is it FREE, It's AWESOME. Warning: You will REALLY want more once you finish)

Counter Strike: GO (Only really recommend this one to anyone who is already a CS fan, as anyone more familiar with CoD or Battlefield will be in for a wholly different experience)

Deadlight (Really solid game, until it just isn't. Worth the discounted price but NOT it's regular one)

NCAA Football 2014 (This is a REALLY good price. I don't play sports games, but even I know that)

Hitman Absolution (Stealth skilled or not, this game has something to offer to anyone who enjoys cinematic storytelling. WELL worth the sale price.)

SSX (Not great, but for five bucks there are far worse games, both in terms of time and fun to be had. Online not so solid.)

GTA V (If, somehow, you don't have this game yet - GTA Fan or not, check it out. Never before have I felt like I was in a virtual world so close to the one I live in. Period.)

I'm so glad I passed on mostly everything in week 1 since I owned mostly everything I wanted already. The week 2 plus new daily deals are outrageous. I got TWAU Ep. 1, Brother and DuckTales immediately along with all the PopCap games since I traded in my discs. I downloaded a bunch of trials for stuff I'm debating on. And I cheered when I saw someone mention Eternal Sonata. I somehow missed that on XBLDB. A very Merry Christmas indeed!

Also, my friend is gifting me MS $ to buy Halo SA on XB1 tomorrow. I'm so happy that I don't care I work most of the week.

Lucky you on having the week off. I'm stuck sitting at work until 3:30pm tomorrow, as I'm considered part of the mandatory minimal staffing, (I head IT at my facility). My backlog is beckoning...

NCAA Football 2014 (This is a REALLY good price. I don't play sports games, but even I know that)
I would like to add again that there will be no NCAA 15. NCAA 14 is the last for the forseeable future, maybe ever. The NCAA got sued by former student-athletes over the games, the NCAA hung EA out to dry over it, and EA said "See ya" and opted not to try to license with individual conferences/schools.

So if you are saying "I'll wait 'till next year".... there is no next year. No guarantee $15 won't be the cheapest it will ever go. There will be no next year versions driving 14's price down.

No sales go til the 31st. New weekly sale starts tomorrow while individual sales go til the 31st
DUH im sorry - Countdown to 2013 not to Christmas. My bad. As for weekly sales, I'd say it's a safe bet that big list includes all that we will see from that next batch, though ya never know what could replace MvC when they get delisted on the 26th.

I Am Alive = I was really looking forward to this back when it released, but the lukewarm reviews made me hold off
Destructoid had solid praise for it with an 8.5. I trust them with mixed reception titles. It's not AAA but the experience is worth it apparently. I bit anyway.

And Brothers is a no-brainer. Will download Wolf ep1 but hold off playing it until the season is done. And I can also recommend Eternal Sonata. The combat is fun and the story is interesting.

I Am Alive was intended to be a MUCH bigger game than it ended up being. Sadly, while Ubisoft initially had the more well regarded teams working on it, the team that ended up making the game when it came time was Ubisoft Shanghai - think of Ubi Shanghai as the island of misfit game developers. Fortunately, the game was actually made and we get to see it, even if lackluster in appearance. Many, myself included, thought I Am Alive would come and go just as mysteriously as it was first announced.

So nobody decided to get NBA Jam or NFL Blitz? Should I pass on these games?
NBA Jam is loads of fun and very well done. Easily the best Sports game on the XBLA. Single-player has tons of unlockables to works towards, you will not regret it if you're seriously considering it to play it and not just add it to a backlog.

EDIT: Put it another way... I've owned NBA Jam:OFE for over a year now and still play it, I'm playing it now (between games) as I type (just played as Lambier/Rodman Pistons vs Wizards... LOL 91-30 final. Out-bullied them, Ariza may be the worst player in the game).

If you LOVE the blitz style of game it's alright but it just isn't the fun game I recall from previous generations. Jam is more fun in my opinion but again unless it's "your kind of thing" i'd pass on it.

I bought Blitz but I haven't touched it yet.

NBA JAM is absolutely worth it. It's just fun, especially if you get friends to play with.

Still debating on The Bridge... I played the demo and it was fun, but if something like Super Meat Boy or Shadow Complex goes on sale, I'd much rather have those games.

There were a lot of people recommending NBA Jam last night. I played the disc version and couldn't get into it. Loved it for SNES, but not feeling it anymore. NFL Blitz is pretty fun. Personally I'd rather play Madden, but it is entertaining. I remember when it first came out, everybody would tackle my receivers as the play started with one play and it was frustrating.

Orc Attack is pretty bad. Sluggish. Boss fights are unfun and needlessly long because the bosses generally take way too much damage to defeat. I got it for free and slightly regret it.

Any thoughts on Foul Play? Didn't even realize it had been released yet.

So fun question:

How do you guys track what digital games you own/don't own already?  I've been stocking up on games but haven't had the HD space to actually download them all.  Going to add a big new HD soon, so I'll need to download/redownload them all, or most of them.

I have an Excel spreadsheet with worksheets for each storage location (HD, USB flash drive X 4, undownloaded) and then worksheets that break down unplaced games by type (arcade, retail) which also list location. Possibly better suited to an Access database with the cross-referencing but I was just trying to break some monotony at work.

I get excited about a sale, go to Xbox.com to buy it, it says "Already Purchased", then I run over to the Xbox and play it. When I switched HDs, I used download history to get them all again.

I got Brothers and Mars: War Logs, exactly what I was looking for, will skip Flashback after all the bad reviews.  I'll probably get DuckTales when it goes on sale on PSN this week.  The DS3 is better for sidescrollers like that.

Personally, I have a 250gb and it's got about 100gb free left. It was full but that was due to having my most frequently played disc based games installed (Including Final Fantasy XIII which is HUGE) but since decided that it will be used to house only digital titles. So far, between purchased XBLA titles, the Games4Gold titles I've been given by MS, and the few games I've gotten free through promos, and DLC for the disc based games I really enjoy (for my it's things like Metal Gear Rising, Dishonored, DmC, Saints Row IV) and it's just now about to break the 100gb free mark. If (or rather, when) that HDD gets full, I may simply delete the things I don't play much, or maybe, depending on how solid the Games4Gold offerings are through 2014, get another 250GB HDD.

Format as a table, and you can make sortable columns. Possibly one of my favorite features for long lists.

ARGHH!!!  If I wouldn't have been such a damn sloth and checked that little best buy "$10" credit everybody was all a rage about, I could've sweetened these deals even more.  However, I had about an hour to spend that credit before expiration and the Minecraft pc link from ad wasn't working so I opted for some Steam Wallet goodness.  I added a $20 card and entered my gift serial/pin ....$0.00 total.  Hrmmmm.......MS is throwing us a bone finally, lets add $25 Live credit (last week had 3-$10 for $27.....cursed slothiness).

BOOM-Shakala!!!!!!! (insert Dickie V enthusiasm) - :whee: :whee:  It was a $40, "$10" cert.!!!!! :whee: :whee:

While I could've grabbed 3 more games had I not waited, I'm super stoked about my Best Buy experience this season () and can now participate in some MS goodness.

Best Buy highlights:  Intel i5-3570k - $149.99 (PM'd Microcenter's BF weekend)

$20 Gaben Cookies  +  $25 MS "The Ban-hammer Swingeth" Credit = $4 out of pocket

                                 Still have rewards left!

Also of note, I'm going to have to gift my kid a t-shirt:

"BACKLOGGED" (R) / "Some of us were born into it" (F)

Thanks for the guide. I bought Deadlight and TMNT. I initially was gonna get Ducktales and Brothers but then I found out Ducktales digital only has 200G while the retail version has 1000G....so I passed on it. Brothers I'm still on the fence about but for that price I think I'm gonna go for it, tomorrow though.

Ack, you're right! Shoot. So tired, I didn't even notice... How dare Necrozilla go to sleep. Need this added to the front page, with additions of Beautiful Katamari and Eternal Sonata, stat. If I knew how to work the wiki thing on an iPad, I'd do it...

What's the diff between Mini Ninjas and Mini Ninjas Adventure. I mean other then Kinect?
Ones a full retail release from like 09 I believe. The other is an arcade from last year. I have not played the arcade but I assume its a short game. I do know its an easy 400 GS though since so many people on my friends list finished it in a day.

Thank YOU for reading my guide. The Ducktales GS thing baffles me but I totally get it if you're into building GS (personally I really don't care about the number, its the sensation of unlocking the achievement itself) but Brothers I can't recommend any more highly if you're on the fence. If you start Brothers, really try to finish it without too much time between to enjoy the full story as it should be taken in.

Great games on sale, but now I don't know which I should buy. I currently have $30 credit on my XBL account  :whistle2:k

I had $5. Went ahead and got Bully: Scholarship Edition and Zuma's Revenge. I'll probably pick up some more early tomorrow. I'm thinking Charlie Murder, Foul Play, and possibly Eternal Sonata. I don't know much about Eternal Sonata though. I know it's an RPG and I like the art style. Anyone have any comments on it? Doesn't look to bad, especially for $3.74.

Re: Brothers.... I'm a jaded gamer that doesn't like much of anything and even *I* enjoyed the demo.  Great world and story.

A lot of smaller games like Brothers get hype and it's not warranted (*coughFEZcough*).  Brothers really *is* amazing.  My kids sat and watched me play the demo and were completely taken in by the world and how I was accomplishing things.

Thanks for the feedback guys I have some horribly difficult decisions to make.

If you are even remotely interested in these RPGs, there's no reason not to snatch up Eternal Sonata at this price.  I played about 2/3 of it about a year after release, sold my 360, and purchasing it this sale.

To tell you the truth, i found TWAU to be more entertaining than i did the TT- Walking dead game.
For TWD experiences really depended on your choices. For example, I barely talked to the little girl and I feel like that ruined the whole game for me. Probably too early to tell if TWAU will be like that, but I really hope not. $15 for the season pass is tempting even before playing.
