But remember, they made it so you don't need to push a button to run anymore. All you do is use the left analog stick.

Thanks for the info.

So it sounds like they didn't include the option to use A for Run. Why the hell would you want to use B for Run?! It's not really a big deal; it's just that Capcom can never make up their damn minds as to what button orientation to use for Examine/Attack (Action) and Run in RE games. Now it sounds like they suddenly went back to the old PS1 style of A/X for Action and X/Square for Run. That's not so bad of a thing, but I got used to it being the other way around on a 360 controller from playing RE5 and CVX. Is a little consistency really too much to ask for?

The Run button is important to me because I hate using an analog stick for old school, fixed-camera RE games. I'll always choose to use the d-pad instead.

I kind of doubt it because the processing power that would go to that will have to drive the higher resolution graphics . Won't be until next gen that we see 4K and these two are still struggling at 1080 at times. Plus all the people with the money who make the final decisions are going to say that online is fine and pump up the graphics instead because it's better for marketing.

 
Elder Scrolls Online coming to console in June, and it'll be buy to play! Although it looks like there is an option to pay the monthly fee and get some bonuses.

FF14 is awesome and well worth the monthly sub. They're constantly adding substantial new content to the game. I do wish I could play it on Xbone though, stupid Microsoft.

The buzz I've read on ESO is that it was a turd at launch but has come a long way since then.

I know and I'll probably try it again once the xpac drops. I just play MMOs so hit and miss unless it's WoW so $15 a month then playing for maybe two or three days just doesn't make sense for me.

They already announced that windows 10 will be free for a year for everyone using Win7 and up.

And Phil getting his own segment? Yeah. This is already turning out to be a big day for MS.

I know it will likely never happen but I'd really like to see remote play from the PC to the X1. A steam app on the X1 that could remotely play my games my my pc would he huge for me, but I know its a huge long shot

I know it will likely never happen but I'd really like to see remote play from the PC to the X1. A steam app on the X1 that could remotely play my games my my pc would he huge for me, but I know its a huge long shot

Of course, you have to have a PC that can actually play the game to. Mine blows so that wouldn't mean crap to me. I already could with my Shield Tablet if I had a better rig.
 
looks like voice chat/text chat will go across platforms.

Game DVR on windows 10, you can record game clips from Steam and share to xbox live friends.

fable legends coming to windows 10. Crossplay, pc gamers can play with xbox gamers.

Don't care about streaming the other way. Tablets would be nice, but not getting a Windows tablet just for that.
 
Streaming games on any windows device.

Streaming on the surface pro...this is gonna be so cash. It was the one thing I really wanted.

This is the first time in a long time that I've really been excited for something. Probably shouldn't get my hopes up too high, but right now I'm very happy with what they are planning. If it can launch smoothly without any major problems, then MS wins. Everything. They win Super Bowl, that Titanfall match I played last week, tickets to see Disney on Ice, a new car, everything.

I have a pretty good PC, I just wanna be able to play on my TV without having it hooked up to my living room

Yes we will get it. Any device running 7 and up can have it for free for a year. The SP3 line looks like it's going to get to experience a ton of these features. And as far as windows tablets go youve got the cream of the crop, so if it didn't work on the SP line with an i3/5/7 I couldn't see it working on a windows tablet with an Intel atom.

Yeah... I'm sure that will materialize just like those tables they were going to make.  Weren't those called Surface and then they just rebranded their tablets with it after it was commercially nonviable?  I see a similar fate for that.

They never held a conference to announce those tables, the only videos I've seen of them are just demonstrations at conventions like this.

Still, it's so far from a marketable product at this point. How long has the Rift been around now and we're no where close to a retail product? The Sony headset? We see lots of cool examples of what could be but let's see someone actually follow through in a way that's actually accessible to the mass market and lives up to it's promises.

Difference is that Microsoft has money and has been planning this for at least 3 years (according to Kotaku article about leaked documents). Rift has been around for awhile, but only recently was bought by Facebook. They aren't exactly known for releasing devices. Sony was just trying to hop on the Rift bandwagon.

There's also the legal issues with VR (HoloLens may have too, but too early to tell). There are plenty of videos online of people playing VR games and falling down. Doesn't matter how many warnings they slap on the box, there will be at least one asshole that ignores them, breaks their neck, and sues. Being known as a dangerous product might not sell as well as a product that lets your children build with "virtual Legos" that they can't choke on or make a mess.
 
Now I have to make a decision: Do I upgrade my ~5 year old from 7 to 10 or just leave it at 7 before getting another laptop (which I will in anycase)?

Well yeah, but I meant specifically for a Resident Evil game. I think that Outbreak: File 2 did something similar. Capcom just randomly decided to make Circle the run button. I remember finding that really disconcerting when I started playing the game and realized that was the case. I don't think there was an option to change it either.

I didn't even comment on the other bizarre control scheme you mentioned because I can't really even fathom it. Double tap RT to run? RB to attack? WTF?! I mean, maybe it makes more sense in practice, but I'm having difficulty imagining how.

 
Riptide GP2 should be out Friday for $4.99. Lets hope its that price and not end up how Funk of Titans was with a much higher price than it was thought to be. Anyways, that game is fun. Glad they're bringing to to :xb1: , grabbing it as soon as I see it up.

I'm definitely grabbing it for $5.

The interesting part about funk of titans is that it let slip some of how MS works.
 
Anyone else having issues with story achievements unlocking in Saints Row IV: re-elected when playing co-op? Other achievements have unlocked just not the ones with beating story missions?

Saw an article over on TA about it and it does look good. Achievements seem doable as well so that's a plus. Since I have $5 sitting on my Bing account, will probably snatch that up and stream it if all goes according to plan.

 
Good press event overall.

Now I'm excited about the Game Developers Conference in early March.  We've seen Xbox One games streaming to a PC - at GDC, we'll see Windows 10 take it the other way, too (according to Phil).  Bring it!!

 
Signed up for that Halo MCC beta test update just in case they give away something for free just for participating in it.

really random but DmC: Definitive Edition has some dope looking cheevo backgrounds. Too bad I have the perfect one right now but I could see myself using a lot of those from that game one day.

Thank you very much for the offer. But i'm looking for Gold, i remember that there was a guy on a Brazilian site or something who sold codes for games and Gold. Can't recall though, and haven't had luck on the Xbox Marketplace thread. Then again, thanks, really appreciate it.

 
So glad they are having xbox messaging on the PC. Now I can play WiiU or PS4 while not having to worry about someone messaging me on xbox one or want to have a party.

Have to sign up for that MCC update tonight.

 
How come everyone else has the preview program and not me, what gives? Kazeno Katana or someone said they sent me an invite, never got one. I feel like I am missing out, though I may not, in reality.

Doesn't the phone app do this already? Also, do you play next to your PC? Xbox messaging on the PC seems cumbersome for the purpose you are describing.
