Please note:

 • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
 • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
 • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
 • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
 • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
 • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Major Nelson posted the weekly sale, nothing that wasn't found last night.

Will get the last BL2 Headhunter pack to complete the DLC collection, heads and all. Though I still need to get Poker Night 2 for the unlockable heads it provides.

Disappointed last week's Activision sale didn't include the Transformers avatar stuff. I don't normally care about avatars, but I really like to get the Grimlock and Laserbeak pets. Is Microsoft doing anything significant with avatars on the XB1?
Grimlock and Laserbeak pets would be awesome!

Hopefully someone here can answer this since I didn't see it in any of the posts in the other thread about digital Destiny purchases:

I want to buy the 360 digital version to play with my wife. I'll also get the free One version to play when she doesn't feel like playing games. If I download the 360 version on her console using my gamertag, will I also be able to download it on my 360 console so that I'll essentially end up with 3 copies of the game: one copy licensed to her 360 console, one copy licensed to my gamertag for use on my 360, and one free upgrade copy licensed to my xbox one console/gamertag?

I normally buy and download games this way (download on her console first then mine granting a console license to her 360) I just didn't know if it was different with the destiny deal where the downloads are only able to be used by the gamertag that downloaded them.

Thanks for anyone's help with this.

Yep you're definitely a dick, of the worst kind. A chlamydia, herpes infested, Vienna sausage sized dick. I asked in the "correct" thread but got no answer.

So I'm sorry dick, let me rephrase my post so it's applicable to posts in the thread about xbox digital purchases. A thread where posters sometimes get into long conversations about what they're wearing on Monday evenings, talk about soccer or other sports at length, or generally just get way the hell off any topic related to xbox sales & specials.

I'm thinking about digitally buying the BL2 season pass that's on sale and the COD ghosts season pass for the 360. If I buy & download these season passes on my wife's 360 first and then download to my 360, will it create a console license on my wife's 360 but still allow me to use it on my 360 under my gamertag? Then when I use the crossbuy promotion for the Xbox one on COD ghosts or if BL2 gets ported to the one and they have a cross-buy promotion, will I be able to use all of the content from the season passes on my wife's 360 under her gamertag, my 360 under my gamertag, and my Xbox One?

Also do you think this is the same as the Destiny digital purchase promotion on the 360?

Thanks for anyone's help and god bless.

If you have access to the entire internet, visit destiny forums, xbox forums, etc to find your answer. Going to a general game forum is akin to visiting a fishing gear store to ask why the fish didn't bite at the lake on Saturday.

Was kind of hoping more deals would drop. On the other hand, I only had $8 in my wallet so I'm glad to see my wallet survive another week.

While you guys are enjoying Destiny (guessing that's why the thread is quiet), I'll be finishing Asura's Wrath and freeing up some hard drive space.

Ooooh, oooooh, I'll be the one to post this!

Thanks for anyone's help with this.
http://www.destinythegame.com/digital-upgrade

the FAQ's make it seem like you can play both copies, but both will be tied to your gamertag.

First of all your analogy is idiotic. What I did was ask a question about a digital game purchase on a thread dedicated to digital game purchases on a website dedicated to getting games as cheap as possible with information about the specific promotion I'm asking about in the OP on said forum. Staying with your dumbass fishing analogy, what I did is akin to going fishing, not catching anything, and asking other successful fisherman (either in person, on a forum about the lake I fished at or hell even asking an employee at a fishing gear store near the lake) if they caught anything and how they did it.

My fishing attempt was scouring these forums for the answer and going on Bungie's site...with no success at an answer. So I ask others who might know and I get burned at the stake.

The first response was that my answer is in the other thread about buying destiny digitally. Then you say to go to other websites (only if I have access to the entire internet though). Which one is it? The answer is in the "correct thread" on CAG or go somewhere else to find an answer???

If that's what we're doing on this thread now, that's fine. Anytime someone asks a question everybody should just provide a dickhead, passive-aggressive, condescending answer telling them to go elsewhere or go to another thread that hasn't answered the question. From now on, when someone asks if they should buy a game that's on sale, I want to see you posting your passive-aggressive, dick responses telling them to go find a review of the game.

Or, you know we could just ignore that to which we don't have the answer to and move the fuck on.

And thank you Tacosss for a legitimate response to my question but unfortunately that FAQ that I already looked at before I posted doesn't really answer my question which is: does downloading destiny on the 360 create a console license and a gamertag license or is it only gamertag? If it's only a gamertag license, this is different than all other game downloads on xbox that I know of.

I agree with this. We need to stay on topic and ask the relevant questions. Anyone know what next week's deals are?
I'll only do this once but I'm sorry I have to...

"Sure I'll be the dick", "If you have access to the entire internet" you should check this site (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/promotions/sales/sales-and-specials/) for the answer and not ask on a forum that typically knows the answer to your question a day before the link I provided does. I mean c'mon man do you even google. Unfortunately, that site won't know the sales next week until Tuesday some time so you'll have to wait or buy a time machine. Or you can come back to this thread who will know the answer to your question next Monday evening some time.

But don't you dare ask anymore questions. What you did is like going fishing with a parachute on and dying from hypothermia because you didn't drink the witch doctors potion and thus your parachute didn't open.

You realize I was being extremely sarcastic right?

It's fun to watch you freak out.

Even though I have no way of verifying it, your logic seems correct. Unless Destiny does something very differently from every other digital game for the Xbox 360, its purchase should generate two licenses: one tied to the console where it's first downloaded and another tied to the purchasing gamertag. This second license should be the only one affecting the triggering of the cross-platform promotion on the Xbox One.

If you're worried and want to play it safe, buy the game on your wife's console while signed in with your gamertag and then sign in on your Xbox One to get your free copy of the game for that platform. It eliminates the 'has played Destiny on an Xbox 360 other than the one where it was first downloaded to' factor from the equation. Frankly, I don't think this step will be necessary but it won't hurt your chances.

I know I've seen the answer somewhere before, but if I buy the Borderlands season pass, will I get ALL the DLC? Or just some of it? I know the retail copy of GOTY only gives you most but not all DLC. will I get everything if I drop the $15 asking price going digital?

You get almost all of it. The four big packs, one character (the Psycho), and I think one other thing if I remember right. So you would have to buy Gaige and a couple of the small packs if you want everything. I just got Gaige and the SP.

Eh. Borderlands got boring for me real quick. The loot wasn't distinctive enough in your class category and was essentially just higher damage numbers. Didn't motivate me to keep playing, though the story and characters may be entertaining. That's what I remember from 2 anyway.

More fun for cooperative play but single player was just dull if all you wanted was to hunt unique and varied loot.

Are Xbox One purchases tied to the console now or similar to the 360 with gamertags?
Both, tied to the Purchasing gamertag and their home XB1 console (XB1 linked as home, not specifically the one originally purchased on.)

I've been looking for people to do a Borderlands 1/2 all dlc run, it's been like pulling teeth. It would be cool if you had a mic and we decided on different classes to play. Send me a message if your interested.

Is there any current way to get free Gold? I'd like to buy the BL2 Season Pass, and $15 is more palpable than $30.

For BL2: just rent the GOTY edition from Gamestop and install the second disc. Then return it.
So basically, buy it and return it? Might do that instead, since I got BL2 for free on some foreign account back when that was live. Thanks for the tip. Would still be nice to get Monaco for free.

Hmm...

I got Destiny on the 360, and had my GF log in as me, and do the install while I was at work. I came home and grabbed my free install of the Xbox One version, and apparently, there's a free preorder DLC pack as well. Didn't even preorder it. Not complaining, it was cool that they threw that in too.

Yeah, get a used copy of the GOTY edition, install disc 2, then return it.

Anyone else play Super Time Force and think it was garbage? I am so glad I didn't pay for it, or I would be so pissed.

Oh well, at least I can finally replay Halo Reach later this month.

There were a surprising large amount of people here that didn't like it. They seemed to have expected something else. Even I regretted my purchase after playing through the tutorial, but that quickly changed after starting the main game.

Borderlands 2 is a bad game. Just bad.

Edit-unless you like Family Guy humor and memes. There is plenty of that

I love Capybara Games, but i think Super Time Force just isn't fun to play. It's a shame really, the music is amazing though.

I played a trial of Borderlands long ago and it seemed like I kept having to look down in order to kill enemies. Very annoying (well that and the Cage the Elephant song). Did BL2 make it so I wouldn't have to do that?   It was around that time that I discovered "Rage" and haven't thought of playing BL until this sale.

For the record, I ended up getting the games on PS3 just because they were free on PS+. Haven't played them since.

i liked it enough. but its formula is played out now. after 200 hours between the first and second game, i don't want to play any more loot FPS games. im hoping gearbox gets sued to hell by sega and the class action though so BL can die knowing it had two fun games..

I was getting used to all the multiple sales each week. This week is definitely not as good as the sales have been. With that said Borderlands 1 and 2 are both great games and two of my favorites. too bad i already own them both.

Count me in for borderlands 2 dlc run. I still cant believe I didn't even finish the pirate one.

irafreak- I did know you were being sarcastic. Unfortunately you were the first person to ask a question (sarcastically) so I too was responding sarcastically. The same way yourmomsnewboyfriend and swirly76 responded to me when I asked an appropriate question for this thread. That's why I quoted their words from their posts and wrote that stupid analogy at the end. Sorry if that post wasn’t clear why I quoted you, so hopefully no harm, no foul.

To the rest of this thread except swirly76 & yourmomsnewboyfriend- I don't post a lot on CAG even though I've been a member for almost four years. I post questions even less and normally my posts are answering someone's question in a helpful manner or I'll post about how I was able to take advantage of YMMV deal so other CAGs can try. I always read the OP of the threads and most, if not all pages of a thread to find the information I'm looking for before I post a question. I do apologize for my posts from earlier (not the question but the rants) but swirly76 and yourmomsnewboyfriend's post was uncalled for and misguided, especially swirly76's.

Since you downloaded the game on your 360 and on your One using your gamertag, do you have another gamertag on your 360 that you could try playing Destiny without yours being signed in? I want to see if someone else who didn’t download the game can play it. If you need some gold passes I have a few 7day passes I could PM the codes to you so you could try it. Thanks if you can help with this.

don't let the site get you down. most people on here are generally nice and respond with real answers. anonymity makes others braver on a forum. but i've gotten like dozens of free games and codes on here from OP's so it's worth it. it's still better than slickdeals though
