Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Major just updated his site and none of the Origins DLC is on sale. just the stuff we already knew about. Good enough for me. Now all I need is Overlord for ME2 and I will have all the EA DLC I wished for.

I finally got around to playing Garou and Samurai Shodown II for the first time since buying them when they went on sale. They were both appearing as trial versions; signed in or out Xbox Live. I deleted them and redownloaded them from download history, and now they're showing up as the full versions.

That's different than the problem that was brought up ten days ago, but deleting and redownloading might be worth trying. Also, all the SNK fighters are able to boot up as the full version when I'm not signed in to Live.

It's odd that the problem some are having is the game won't boot up. If XBLA games don't see you as owning them then they usually load up as the trial version. It seems more like a glitch than drm specific to these games.

so, if I've never played a Dragon Age game before is it worth picking up this week's sale?  Will it make playing Inquisition on my PS4 that much better story-wise?

Yes... by a ton. Decisions carry over between games. Bioware is creating this thing called the Keep so that your decisions carry over cross platform. So you can have your Inquisition PS4 game reflect the choices you made in origins and da2 on 360.

Dragon Age 2 gets a lot of flack from people who loved the original, but I think it has more to do with the gameplay is just different. As a action RPG type of guy who loves the hell out of Dogma, hack and slash gameplay is right up my alley so I definitely preferred it compared to the gameplay of Origins I saw on youtube.

This will give me a chance to actually play Origins, but its much more slower in terms of combat, much more traditional western RPG like, especially when using magic and playing on PC. The goal for Inquisition was said to get a perfect balance of Origins and 2.

Where are you seeing that this other stuff is supposed to go on sale? I hope its not like last week where Braid was supposed to go on sale but never did.
I see it on the dashboard, but as others have pointed out, some of the prices don't seem to have gone live yet.

Do you like Mass Effect? It's a lot of the same stuff-- detailed world, a lot of conversation and banter with your party members, moral choices that shape the plot. Just the gameplay is different, but if you're not that into the gameplay you can put the difficulty on Easy and pretty much just play it as a hack-and-slash.

It's not exactly like ME in that you don't follow the same main character through multiple games, but important characters do recur and your decisions in previous games affect what's going on.

Speaking of One changes... I really wish they would add a "trophy case" app for all games you've 100%'d. The 360 has that small section where you can view all of them. I need to suggest that to Major or Phil.
Groo are you a Trueachievements member? You can set up your trophy case there. :) But yeah if the One doesn't have a completion list like on the 360 they need to get on that stat.

I have some important information for all you ladies and gentlemen, the GoD version of Kingdom of Amular has a fatal freeze error related to the online pass...it will freeze upon starting a new game. It also suffers from additional crashes.

It does? I've played well over 30 hours and haven't faced a single crash.

No crashes for me so far...

True story, bro. If you had the retail version with the pass thing that EA was doing at the time and still have that pass on your hard drive, it creates a game breaking glitch. You'll need to delete that from your hard drive. That makes the game playable, but it may make the N7 armor unobtainable. That's what happened to me.....and why I stopped playing. No N7 armor, no deal!

Looks like I got my wish, DA:O:Awakenings has hit $5...just grabbed it.

Question about the DA2 dlc's, for those of you who have them...Do any of them, other than Exiled Prince, add in any permanent main game companions?

Skipping Mark of the Assassin because Felicia Day annoys the hell out of me.

I have some important information for all you ladies and gentlemen, the GoD version of Kingdom of Amular has a fatal freeze error related to the online pass...it will freeze upon starting a new game. It also suffers from additional crashes.
I had this problem when i bought it like a year+, but i found the solution myself, If you download the online pass it will freeze the game as soon you see the initial screen, but simple DELETE the online pass, and it will run smoothly, if you have the GoD of Amalur and the online pass it will cause a conflict, that's because the GoD already have integrated the online pass, simple as that, try it, you'll see it.

No N7 armor, no deal!
about the N7 armor it's not true, i have it.

Looks like XBLDB picked up Fable Anniversary ($20) and more DA DLC (Awakening, $5; Legacy $5).

So, from prior posts, it seems Legacy is the best DA2 DLC - any other recommendations?

And is any DLC omitted from the Ultimate Edition of DA:O?

Woke up this morning to buy the South Park Pinball FX 2 tables and noticed that the sales you guys mentioned (EA RPGs, Worms, etc) don't show up on the front page.  Do I need to wait for Microsoft to update the page?  Sorry to ask, but I haven't been on Xbox Live that long.

I've been on the dashboard earlier and indeed the sales weren't there. There's usually a tab that says "Sales & Special", "Summer Sales", or whatever the theme is, but currently there is none of that. I assume there'll be one later on.

This is an awesome sale. Awakening didn't have to be $5 since it was $15, could've been $7.49 or something.

And now like many of you, my DA2 dlc collection is complete and ready to begin proper with Origins. And yes it does take a sequel's dlc to be on sale before I play the first in the series.

I still can't believe Awakening was originally $40 back in the day. If you count that fact it's basically almost 85% off what it originally used to go for.

I bought Warden's Keep - mainly because the whole inventory thing made me stop playing the game in the first place as you really do need a party chest. Hence I bought it just for that chest. Ridiculous but otherwise I'd have never continued to play the series ever.

I just started DA2 about a week ago and this sale happens.

My question is: does the origins dlc have any impact on 2? If I play the origins dlc, should I start 2 over and import the save again?

KI Season 2 update should have came out last night. I was watching Maximilian_dood play it for about an hour. The interface I completely changed, might have saw some new game modes, Maya is out, and overall everything looks a lot better.

The Ultimate Edition has all of the DLC except some stuff from the Collector's Edition and pre-order bonuses. It's also installable from the disc and compatible with the Games on Demand version.

If it doesn't update for you then you can re-install the game. It will automatically get the latest patch that way.

I did it last night and played a little before I went to bed. The 900p performance patch makes things look quite a bit better.

I'VE been playing all morning. It's a bit annoying that I'm trying to get my TJ Combo game down and everyone keeps picking Sabrewulf and Orchid lol

So they just introduce them? They dont affect 2, story wise?
Yes there are several decisions in Awakening that carries over. BTW, Awakening is almost like a whole new game. It's like 15-20 hours long if I remember. Also, Witch Hunt has a pretty big decision that I imagine may have some impact in Inquisition. They don't just introduce those characters btw, they are actually party members in Awakening and DA2.

A heads up to all DA and DA2 new owners:

Found this link scouring the inter webs, if you link the version of the game you have to your bioware account you get a bunch of promotional weapons for both games. If this has already been posted or I shouldn't  have posted this link here, let me know and I'll delete. But anyway, I don't know if the weapons are any good/worth it but wanted to share.

^^this

So find the ultimate edition at GS, buy it, install the dlc, then just return it. Save your spacebux!

I'm looking at the descriptions for DA2 Legacy and Mark of the Assassin, and they both say:

"Includes: (1) Hours of adventuring spread across several brand-new areas"

Can anyone confirm this? That makes them sound way overpriced.

How much does The Exiled Prince add? It doesn't say.
