Please note:

 • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
 • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
 • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
 • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
 • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
 • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Gears of Space? Dead War?
That actually sounds amazing to me.

To anyone playing Alice, I would recommend the $2 extra dresses DLC. Besides looking awesome (and honestly Alice's wardrobe and hair are some of the best reasons to play this game), the Fleshmaiden dress makes Nightmare difficulty pretty trivial.

with the rewards thing for referring a friend all they need to do is just sign up for xbox rewards and sign into a xbox one ? does it work the same way if i sign the xbox profile onto my one will it still work ?

Any rumors out about what next month's games with gold will be?  I'm really hoping Darkstar One will eventually go GWG, its obscure and cheap enough ($14.99) that it would probably qualify :p

Started darksiders 2. actually enjoying it so far. annoying that all the achievements are hidden though. just been skipping the cut scenes am I missing anything that will hinder my ability to progress

So I've been to the Games Week in Milan today, this 3-days gaming con in Italy. Tried some new and upcoming games, but more importantly, I've been doing some insane shopping:

eUOVL4x.jpg

All this cost me around 80 Euros in total.

Never played dead space, not much of a horror game fan.
Dead Space isn't much of a Horror game.

Still fun though.

As for Alice...ehh. If you're interested $5 is a good price of course. I liked the combat well enough, besides there being no bosses until the very end. And the sound design was pretty good- then again I'm a sucker for minimalism. Alice progressively losing her shit between levels was neat. The game at large though, fell prey to seriously amateur game design. Hope you really like sliding tile puzzles.

The best part of the game is getting a new dress each stage.

I elected to play through the original before moving on to Madness Returns, and just felt like my time was being wasted. It has not aged well at all, and even for its time I don't know if it was all that good. Oh, during the final level the audio started attacking me. It seriously spiked 2 or 3 times normal volume out of nowhere.

My opinion of a few games in sale.

ME1: personally my favorite of the series. I loved the armor and weapons in that game and the customization options. Being able to choose the armor of your party and give them your choice of weapons was definitely one of my favorite parts of game. Beyond that, I can't imagine playing ME2 or 3 without playing 1 first. It offers so much depth into the story of the series and gives you the chance to choose everything that happens from 1 on. I'm not going to post any spoilers, I will just say that if you haven't played ME1, or if you haven't played ME at all...please do yourself a favor and play them. Do it now. Does it have a couple annoying parts? Yeah, of course. Don't most games?

Alice: I beat it. The controls do suck but I learned to just be gentle with them. This isn't one of those games that you'll spend hours playing for the enjoyment of playing it. It's one of those games that will drive you to finish it, because the story is so damn cool and the ending is just...perfect. Is it annoying at times? Absolutely. Is it a fun game with gorgeous visuals, an epic story and interesting weapons? Yerp. Buy it. Play it. Beat it. If I can do it, you can.

I was going to give more opinions, but....nah. Go play these.

As Metallica once said, before they were shitty..."like, anything after Load is basically shit" ...Nothing else matters.

Amusing little article - all speculation for November GWG

http://www.breathecast.com/articles/xbox-games-with-gold-november-2014-list-rumors-predictions-grand-theft-auto-4-mortal-kombat-arcade-more-21083/

The Games they are guessing ...

 • Grand Theft Auto 4
 • King Kong: The Movie Game
 • Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
 • Resident Evil: Revelations
 • Mortal Kombat Arcade
 • The Walking Dead - A Telltale Games Series
 • Mirrors Edge
 • Brink
 • Borderlands
If RE:Revelations was one of the games, man, I'd be so fucking happy!

Are we just guessing like Animaniacs now??

Fine!!

My GWG guesses...

Braid
Call of Duty: Ghosts
Super Smash Brothers Melee
God of War
Destiny
Pokemon Red...or Blue...none of that Yellow and beyond shit up in this piece.

Pokemon Red/Blue > Every GwG game so far.

Jeeze for some reason downloading Alice is taking WAY longer than normal. As in ridiculously slow, 38% after 6 hours, which is the slowest I've ever seen from a download there.

i wonder at what time GTA San Andreas is gonna go up. for some reason i'm really excited to play it again.

And Samuel L. Motherfucking Jackson.

I wasted so much of my childhood playing those...I say wasted but I mean...enjoyed.
I remember saving my money to buy both red and blue so I could use my brothers gameboy and transfer all 3 starting Pokemon to one save so I could start with all 3. It's weird how much work I was willing to go through for it back then.

I totally didn't do that with X/Y and still do that every time they put out a special one...

To anyone playing Alice, I would recommend the $2 extra dresses DLC. Besides looking awesome (and honestly Alice's wardrobe and hair are some of the best reasons to play this game), the Fleshmaiden dress makes Nightmare difficulty pretty trivial.
Alice Madness Returns:

I second this. The outfits and weapons you get for $2 are well worth the small cost of the DLC, and as mentioned above, look pretty damn cool.

If you're playing for all the achievements, there's a cheat/glitch that makes playing through Nightmare take less than an hour. TrueAchievements has the guide for it.

I also recommend playing Madness Returns first before even attempting the first American McGee's Alice game. Unless you have previous memories of it, it has not aged well, mostly due to the poor controls. Playing it after you finish Returns makes it serve as a prequel. Two warnings on the first game: You can't go back to previous stages to get weapons you miss, so if you finish a level and missed a certain weapon, you might be screwed. Getting the Blunderbuss is a must for fighting Jabberwocky later on. - Unless it was patched, the first save slot auto deletes for some reason, so always make two separate save slots whenever you are done playing for the day.

Halloween is imminent. My excitement for Costume Quest 2 along with how this thread has inspired me, I wanted to enjoy the night with some fun cosplay alongside you kids, however my moving days land around the special day. I was going to terrify this thread, and maybe all of CAG, as deal denying Don Mattrick. Check this out, I've been working on it: "Xbox One is a premium system with premium game experiences. That is why premium prices are to be expected." What'cha think? Eh? EEEH? I know, right: scary, isn't it? Fortunately, I'm glad to see some deals show up now for All Hallows' Eve.

Aside from the singular Dead Space 3 DLC, EA and MS denies me the EA DLC I want on discount for the past couple weeks. The majority of the offerings are repeats for me. I would have wanted last week's beloved RPGs Deals with Gold to include the Dragon Age 2 item pack bundles (1 & 2), which are the only DLC I lack for the series up to this point. This week's Deals are mostly games I own in a physical medium. It has been a long time since some of these items were discounted and great for those who missed out, but this just further proves to me that good sales for everyone are ones which doesn't include my joy. This bucks the trend from prior weeks where at least something new had been offered on discount even when I didn't want it (like Red Johnson's Chronicles) which I can at least be at peace with.

I know the Dragon Age 2 item packs, Dead Space gear, and Burnout Paradise vehicles/modes/maps are non-essential to the overall game, but I think they are nice to have, as I experienced with the Feastday gifts/pranks for the first Dragon Age game
(cheats the morale system a bit, but handing Shale an uncrushable pigeon, sure it drops her opinion of you, but the thought is funny in the context of the character, also some of the other items actually has some gameplay usage too)
. That's why I feel these optional DLC packs need to go on sale, because they are overpriced for what they offer, but I do want them enough such that I'm willing to pay something in support of the games I enjoy.

I am happy to get Darksiders 2 through Games with Gold even when I have it on disc. Now more than ever, I should make the effort to get this title off my backlog for the 1000 reward points. On the topic of Xbox Rewards, I want to place a spotlight on "spend $50 get $5 back" is an Xbox Rewards offer applicable only towards purchases of horror-themed GonD/XBLA/Avatar/themes/video listed under the 'shocktober' landing page in order to get the 5000 reward points refund (NOTE: not a general spend $50 get $5 back which I would have preferred). I do not foresee myself spending that amount on horror-themed content, unless more interesting qualifying items gets discounted (Resident Evil Revelations DLC, please) as we get towards the 31st.

Some quick responses to old posts (sorry, moving got me busy):

But any enemy you kill is revived by ANY other NPC is the game. By the 6th or 7th level killing enemies loses all feasibility. It's a stealth game. You aren't supposed to go around killing everyone when you're a burglar.
Not necessarily true, in Monaco: What's Yours is Mine you can kill with some items like the shotgun, wrench, and C4. The key to not allowing the NPCs to resurrect the skeletons is to hide the bodies by pushing them into bushes where no other NPC may find them. Pushing and not pushing bodies are determined by running or not running. Also C4 completely destroys the bodies such that they cannot be resurrected as well. For the most part, I try to play the heists almost Ocean's 11 style as well, with minimal killing.

I was expecting more of a RE type game solve puzzles fight zombies etc its been pretty meh to me but I'm still glad to have bought it. whatevs
You tell 'em, Jill Valentine. Tell them about some of what I loved in Resident Evil. I am still interested in Psycho Break, but it does seem a bit overt with its gore, which may rub off as trying too hard to me (look, I said look, unsettling imagery), but I'd hope for more of a feeling of tension and dread instead. I await to see for myself, probably when it gets a major discount, hopefully by next October.

The second one is better because they blantanly ripped off some of the best games: the exploration of Zelda, the combat of God of War, the platforming of Prince of Persia, the loot system of Diablo. Someone add something if I missed it.
I'm pessimistic about the synergy between a Zelda styled exploratory game and a random item generation system in the vein of Diablo. I'm used to items in a Zelda styled game being meaningful towards the play of the game, opposed to disposable stats via grind. I just hope not to spend too much time in menus comparing one item to another for marginal increases in stats. I had that problem with Borderlands, where I saw through its claim of many guns, but rather just variations of a few basic scopes/shots opposed to actual different guns. However, I feel the world traversal elements of Prince of Persia may fit in as well as the God of War styled combat, based on my experience with the first Darksiders. Also Ryuukishi did mention the character designs of Joe Madureira in a world rendered with painted color map textures like World of Warcraft. I think I should marathon the GonD game before the 14 days are up to get my 1000 reward points to see.

[Had to edit out responses due to length; basically Burnout series and Blur are amazing on Xbox platforms, dropped Oblivion for 2 years before returning without incident but more difficult to remember old groove with Fallout 3, Alice: Madness Returns looks gorgeous but stages are overlong yet ideal for my "rainy day" plan which will be needed for move, and food talk makes me hungry]

It has been a tremendously exciting week. Korra (I like the first series enough, and willing to take the gamble with tempered expectations it may just be a cash grab), Bayonetta 2, Sid Meier's Beyond Earth, and Dreamfall Chapters have all taken a chunk from my wallet. I hope when Costume Quest 2 gets its Xbox release this coming Wednesday, it also has its own unique costumes like the other platforms. My hype train of the holidays continues with Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, Hatsune Miku Project Diva f 2nd, and 360's Resident Evil HD Remaster pretty soon guaranteeing my backlog will never be finished. I saved for this, this onus is on you, Microsoft, to bring the deals, I want to spend on my 360.

[EDIT: I'll clean up this post after my football team loses today =( I hate your good team]

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
GTA San Andreas is up on Xbox live for $3.74. Great deal even though the screen shots don't look super hot

Yeah so reasonable I thought it had to be a mistake and bought it right away. It's probably just bc of the anniversary today and it will be $15 tomorrow.

Yeah, that's what I would expect it to cost. It has achievements right? For that price I think I'm going to buy it.

Also there's a thing on the store dash where you watch some Skylanders ads and get an avatar prop if anyone else is interested in that sort of thing. A few of the ads are rather long though.

Didn't really think it was worth mentioning unless more of those titles started going on sale, lest it raise expectations, then bitching when those expectations weren't met.
Well I'm guessing there's going to be something more and if nothing else that $5 back offer but I'm assuming that's all intended for date night.

Thats really cool, wonder why its not on ps3
San Andreas has been available on PS3 for quite a while along with GTA III and Vice City, but it's not the remastered version. I own it on there, but I don't have enough room to download it on my PS3, so I went ahead and bought it today on 360. That price of $3.74 is too darned good to pass up.

Also, for anyone who has Food Lion grocery stores in their area, they are offering a $5 off your next shopping visit coupon with the purchase of $25 or more in Xbox gift cards until 11/4/14. I bought two $15 cards this morning and got one of the coupons at the register. I don't think the deal is valid with Xbox Live 3 month cards though, just the credit.

I didn't post this as a separate deal since I think that Food Lion stores are only in the Mid-Atlantic region. I live in Virginia, but I doubt that Food Lion is everywhere.

Pretty sure we have Food Lion around here in Kentucky, maybe
Oh yeah - I forgot to mention the $5 off coupon can't be used on gift card, alcohol or tobacco purchases, but if you're planning on buying more groceries, it's like paying $20 for a $25 Xbox card. The store I went to this morning was out of $25 cards although there was an empty peg for them underneath the $15 cards.
So I've been to the Games Week in Milan today, this 3-days gaming con in Italy. Tried some new and upcoming games, but more importantly, I've been doing some insane shopping:

All this cost me around 80 Euros in total.
Let me know next time i might tag along!! :)

I like how November update lets you add achievement pictures to X1 home screen, but you can barely see them because of all the tiles. I hope they add transparent tiles like on Windows Phone.
