As a fan off all three of those franchises, Halo's lore is definitely great, the overall story and atmosphere they made is definitely up there with Star Wars for me.

From what I understand mixing the books and other mediums that contribute to the lore makes it a great experience but judging just by the games alone, the story isn't up there with the best of them.

Speaking of story and Star Wars, a masterful example of integrating story with gaming is KotOR.

That's totally fine, but you can't ignore how good the shooting is. Mechanically, the game is incredible. Whether that's enough to keep people coming back obviously depends on the individual, but Bungie shitting the bed story-wise doesn't inherently ruin the experience. For me, being fun to play is the most important thing in a game. I love a story as much as anyone, but Mario Kart doesn't need a plot twist. YMMV with Destiny.

This made me think of how Nintendo fuck ed over Mario Kart Wii U owners with multiplayer taking place on single player tracks. I can't tell you how much time is wasted driving in circles to find someone. What a cluster fuck Nintendo. Whose brilliant idea was that?? Broken multiplayer makes me bitter / rant over

On topic, LOL at MS for making The Raven episodes the daily countdown deal. These year end countdown sales are the worst ever. Oh well. At least the weeklong sales had gems like TWD season 2 pass, TWAU pass and Retro City Rampage

I'm sure they will probably go on sale again, possibly for less, but who knows when. According to xbldb, this is the first time CoL has been 50% off on 360. It was 50% off on PSN last week.

I know some people on here want smaller games to go on sale, and I can respect that. I remember having one new CAG rip into me because I was hoping for more AAA games to be included in the XBL sale. 'why? you should want games that you cannot get anywhere else to be on sale!'

I want the best games digitally. Period. Maybe that's crazy, but I love sitting on my couch and accessing a different game as easily as accessing an app.

Having said that, Child of Light is an Ubisoft game. So....who knows if it would ever be on GoG.

I'd go the BB route. You can dump the disc in a few weeks once you get tired of hearing how 12 year olds have fornicated your family members.

I'm completely with you and agree with it all.

I don't play a lot of the Indy/ID/...cheaper games? I only play them once they go on sale for cheap. Really really, almost free cheap.

AAA games get most of my business. I can't help it. Those are the best games IMO. Nothing against the smaller games, they just don't match up.

Woohoo! Downloading Child of Light. I'll have roughly $20 left on my account so if they want to put the Dead Rising dlc on sale I'm all for it now. Only other game I may want is Valiant Hearts.

Actually, if you would have taken the time to actually comprehend what I was saying, you would have realized that wasn't what I was complaining about at all. What I was complaining about was Bungie HUGELY hyping an aspect of the game that wound up being laughable at best and yes, comparing the story in Destiny to Star Wars and Lord of the Rings is LAUGHABLE!!

If Bungie wants to make a shooter with no story whatsoever, or a weak a*s story that is there simply to act as a backdrop to the action...well, I have no problem with that at all. Simply market the game accordingly and I won't have a problem. They blatantly marketed the game as something different than what it was to get more sales on day 1. Everyone that purchased Destiny that was expecting a quality story to be an integral part of the game, which is exactly how it was marketed, has a right to be pissed off. Your points have absolutely nothing to do with what I was saying. Zip, nodda, none.

First, what does that have to do with anything, lol. 2nd, I never said there weren't movies that lacked quality stories. And lastly, if a movie was marketed as having a great story when it totally sucked A*S, just as Bungie did with Destiny, I would be equally disappointed and would openly complain about that film as much as any game that was guilty of the same.

I have child of light on 360, never finished it but really enjoyed it. Since I got a One, it seems even less likely I'll go back a finish it. Is it much of a difference on the One? I can't imagine the graphics are much better, they were pretty great as it was.

Basically, is it worth getting or should I just force myself to play it on 360? Thanks!

*edit* not like I'm "forcing" myself to go play and awesone game, but you know what I mean, right?

Update, not that anyone cares lol, on my friends new TV purchase. Decided on the bestbuy 32" 1080p Insignia, $190 including tax. Bought it yesterday, returning it tomorrow. The picture is terrific on it, but the sound is horrible. We spent two hours last night trying different settings with the sound and could not get it to sound as good as his old tube set. Sounded like speakers you find at the dollar store...
