Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

In the spirit of the New Year, paranoia from yesterday's delistings, and the fact that all the good deals are dead now, I've made a New Year's resolution to buy and download games from Xbox Live that I actually want to play rather than just waiting for games to go on sale.  With that said, I need help from the posters on this thread to tell me if any of the following games that I've browsed are worth buying.

Adventures of Shuggy - $5

Battlezone - $3

Beat N Groovy - $5

Cellfactor: Psychokinetic Wars - $5

Crazy Mouse - $5

Guardian Heroes - $5

Gyruss - $5

Happy Tree Friends - $5

Hydrophobia - $3

Interpol - $5

Jetpac Refuelled - $5

Mercury hg - $5

Panzer General - $5

Poker Smash - $10

Puzzle Quest - $10

Quarrel - $5

Rotastic - $5

Shred Nebula - $5

Snoopy: Flying Ace - $5

Space Giraffe - $5

Switchball - $5

Time Pilot - $5

TiQal - $10

Totemball - free (can this be played with Kinect instead of a Live Camera?)

Vigilante 8: Arcade Edition - $5

Virtua Fighter 2 - $5

Voodoo Dice - $5

World Gone Sour - $5

Yosumin - $10

I like fighting, platform, puzzle and racing games the best.  And, I've already sort of decided that I'm going to buy Gyruss and Time Pilot because I like retro shmups and Guardian Heroes and Virtua Fighter because they're Sega games.  But, if any of you guys can offer suggestions of which of these I should buy, I would really appreciate it.

Adventures of Shuggy - $5

Puzzle Quest - $10

Quarrel - $5
Shuggy is a fine puzzle game, pretty varied and with tons of levels. It has local coop. I'll never forget the time when I did the coop campaign all by myself, in certain levels I had a pad on my hands and the other under my feet! XD

Puzzle Quest, how in hell you haven't played it by now! It's a classic, the epitome of an absorbing game. You will lie yourself repeatedly saying 'all right the last one and I go to bed, this time for real'. But be aware it has been cheaper before. Still a must-have.

Quarrel, damn I wish I had born as an English speaker to play this game. I miserably fail with a clock ticking. But it's fun if you like words games. Kinda a 1-on-1 scrabble battles with a tactic angle. Hard to explain. Try the demo.

In fact, try them all and make an opinion by yourself. :joystick:

I'll vouch for adventures of shuggy and puzzle quest. Shuggy is just a fun little platformer, not too unlike super meat boy. Great to play in short bursts when you don't have a lot of time. Puzzle quest takes all the addictiveness of bejeweled and adds a story and leveling up. I can't tell you how many times I sat down to play for 20-30 minutes and ended up playing for several hours.

Edit: well, shulamm beat me to it. I'll add that I LOVE quarrel, personally, but I know it's not for everyone.

I only played the demo of shuggy but it reminded me of super meatboy. puzzle quest is awesome! quarrel I really enjoyed my time with but it may also depend on how much you like scrabble. I spent 30 minutes give or take on virtua fighter 2 ( just long enough to get all of the acheivements on it) and hated it, did not age well

Tempted on both of the LEGO Harry Potter games. Anyone know if they're any good?
Assuming you like Lego games, then they are good. I really liked the first Harry Potter Lego (years 1-4, I believe). They had a decent sized hub world, but not the huge open world like the later batman and marvel lego games. Also, these were before they added actual voice acting. For $5 each, you can't go wrong with these. I'm not really in to Harry Potter, but I thought these, especially the first, were among my favorite lego games.

I've never played any LEGO games before, but I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, so for 5 bucks each, I'll bite. I may even have a couple of dollars in MS credit I can burn. :)

So for the XB1, Dragon Age went back on sale and Madden 15 Holiday still is so I'm sure others are either still on sale or are back on sale?  If so anybody have a list of random stuff that went back up?  I can switch out my physical copy for a digital one with BB's current trade in so may do that since it's a game I'd rather have digitally since I boot it up all the time in between other games.

On a side note, kind of odd because I can't get certain games to come up on the XBox site.  CoD AW for instance, the vanilla XB1 version will not show up for whatever reason.

Having some wierd issues on xbl now, nothing will download in my queue and alien froze on me and Dead Rising 3 wouldnt load up and it said ready to start too. My friend said he also has some issues too.
Did you do your daily online check-in with XBL on your XB1? No?

Do you guys use AA batteries, rechargable, batteries, the X1 play & charge kit, or a 3rd party charge station like Nyok and Energizer?

I'm looking to max out my CAGness by not spending so much money on power for my X1 controller.

Same thing that's been said on CAG for years, get Eneloop rechargable batteries off Amazon. They can hold a charge for a long ass time and are cheap.

Tried to download the DR3 Season Pass, but it won't let me buy it from my phone.

Done it before, but it keeps telling me to add a payment method. I've linked my PayPal account to it, and bought things a few days ago.

Not sure why it won't let me buy it.

Tried removing and re-adding my PayPal account, but now I can't add it for a second time.

Hope I can get back to my computer to buy it today, but I might just have to return my old DR3 copy and get a new and cheap Apocalypse version.

Ene loops are grea

Eneloops are great, but so are the energizer charge docks. I've had one forever for my 360, got another for my xbone. I like the convenience of the dock, personally.

Main dif really is, do you want AA's you can use on anything, or a set that only works for your controllers-with the convenience of the dock.

I've always heard good things about the Eneloops. I personally use Rayovacs. I have had one pair of them for a little over 8 years and I still get a lot of play time out of them. I also have another 6 or 8 that have had for 6 years and still going strong.

I've had the same problem lately. Usually I just quit the smart glass app and try again and it works. Sometimes it takes 3 or 4 tries. Doing it from the computer does the same thing. I can only reliably make purchases from the xbone itself.

In the spirit of the New Year, paranoia from yesterday's delistings, and the fact that all the good deals are dead now, I've made a New Year's resolution to buy and download games from Xbox Live that I actually want to play rather than just waiting for games to go on sale. With that said, I need help from the posters on this thread to tell me if any of the following games that I've browsed are worth buying.

Adventures of Shuggy - $5

Battlezone - $3

Beat N Groovy - $5

Cellfactor: Psychokinetic Wars - $5

Crazy Mouse - $5

Guardian Heroes - $5

Gyruss - $5

Happy Tree Friends - $5

Hydrophobia - $3

Interpol - $5

Jetpac Refuelled - $5

Mercury hg - $5

Panzer General - $5

Poker Smash - $10

Puzzle Quest - $10

Quarrel - $5

Rotastic - $5

Shred Nebula - $5

Snoopy: Flying Ace - $5

Space Giraffe - $5

Switchball - $5

Time Pilot - $5

TiQal - $10

Totemball - free (can this be played with Kinect instead of a Live Camera?)

Vigilante 8: Arcade Edition - $5

Virtua Fighter 2 - $5

Voodoo Dice - $5

World Gone Sour - $5

Yosumin - $10

I like fighting, platform, puzzle and racing games the best. And, I've already sort of decided that I'm going to buy Gyruss and Time Pilot because I like retro shmups and Guardian Heroes and Virtua Fighter because they're Sega games. But, if any of you guys can offer suggestions of which of these I should buy, I would really appreciate it.
I may be late, but I wanted to say that I'd go with:

Guardian Heroes - $5

Panzer General - $5

Puzzle Quest - $10

Snoopy: Flying Ace - $5

Vigilante 8: Arcade Edition - $5

Virtua Fighter 2 - $5

Those ones I did enjoy. Not sure if you already bought some now.

To everybody..lets hope 2015 brings better sale lol....

I used to use rechargeable batteries. Still have them as backup. But the 3rd party charge stations that you just drop a controller on are my preferred method now. It's just so easy. And they can be gotten a whole lot cheaper than a set of eneloops and a good charger (and you want a good charger for rechargeable batteries).

I prefer the drop on ones too. I bought nyko ones

Damn, dat DR3 Ultra dlc is so fun even by myself. Capcom should really do a full standalone Dead Rising game based on that style.

My final haul-

Alien Isolation

DR3 Season Pass

DR3 Super Ultra Remix

Watch_Dogs season pass

Sleepy Dawgs

Kalimba

Did you already run through Sleeping Dogs on 360? I am so on the fence about grabbing this.....

yea i beat it on 360, ps3 and ps4. Its the same as on 360 but with a bit better graphics and all the dlc.
I asked fellow cags about the bone version and the consensus was if you have the 360 version, just stick with that. The X1 version barely changes or adds anything, If anything at all. I decided against getting it for X1, for what it's worth. Great game, just no real differences between the two versions.

Still no updates on the season pass progress bar for the AC4 pass bought on the 22nd.
Yeah, it would be nice if this updated in 24 hours like Nintendo did with DDP. I think a lot of us are waiting to see if the Telltale bundle counts. Personally I'm also waiting to see if the FH2 Car Pass counts, I'm thinking it will since it comes up when you search season pass on the console but I don't want to throw another $20 at a SP unless I know for sure (and still not sure if I will do it then).

Is the remix part of the pass?

You know, I just noticed something, why on earth is the One version of Alien Isolation on sale for less than the 360 version?

IMO, the Car Pass isn't worth it. It doesn't include the DLC that has cheevos(Storm Island, etc) and 1 car from each pack is free anyways.

Are the extra cars really worth $20/$25?

How is the Lego Movie Game :xb1:?

I want to get Lego Marvel but I already got 1,000/1,000 for it on the 360, but it would be fun to play again.

It's still on sale since they extended the weekly sale another week, but that is one of the Gold only markdowns.
Thanks. I used a 2 week Gold trial and was able to get the special price. Really happy with the collection. Wife and I can play it together. Trying to get her into gaming.

I have all day off tomorrow and my girlfriend is leaving in the morning for an overnight shopping trip...

It's fair to say my whole day will be spent playing video games. DR3 Alpha Hyper Remix anyone?
