Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

I was looking at Sherlock, which retails for $30 on the 360, and it's listed as $65 on Live. Come on Microsoft, if you want me to go digital only, atleast make the prices SOMEWHAT competitive.

Damn wish I had thought of that. I just transferred everything onto my PC and then back onto the new drive when I used the hacked 500gb drive.
wanted to thank, I think it was Pheran the guy with a penguin for an avatar, for posting that hacking guide. it was simple and quick.
Only got child of light and walking dead season 2 pass. at least I finally used up all my converted credit.
Of course that guide isn't my work, but you're welcome anyway. My home is now rocking 2 360s that both have 500GB. Also two of my nephews and even one CAGer have trickle-down HD upgrades because of it. :)

Under MyStats in the preview dashboard app it says "0 years, 4294967290 months" :/

Almost 358 million years...
The time it would take to play through the average CAG backlog.

Funny, I was also looking at this game, on the One. It's about $35 retail for it now, and still full price on Live. I've got about $200 of Amazon money left over from Christmas, and nothing really looks appealing right now. Guess I'll save it for Dying Light and the Game of Thrones season 4 set.

The only thing I got from the Holiday sales was Red Dead Redemption because I figured after skipping the previous 73 sales, I'd throw Rockstar a bone and not have to put the disc in to play it some more.

Picked up Lego marvel, even though it makes me sick when I play it I'm hoping short twenty minute sessions won't be so bad. Other than that I picked up the disk version of Defiance last night for ten at Walmart. Just bought it for the registration code on the manual. Gives you a bunch of acct upgrades ingame, inventory slots, ark key slots, character slots, etc.

And to think Rockstar was going to stop doing the same terrible repeat sale every other week until Friday encouraged them.

Ended up grabbing Alien Isolation today, as well as the two dlc packs that had been preorder bonuses. Normally would have held off on the dlc but wanted to play them first because they take place before the events of the game.

Also whats everyone's nfl predictions for this weekend?

Thought this might be a good place to ask. Does anyone know if there is a transfer cable for a slim to slim hd? I picked up one of the 500 GB hard drive from the target sale and need to move things over. If there isn't a transfer cable is there any other good way to move the data other than just re-downloading everything?
There is a cable to move it but it seems like GS doesnt carry it anymore as I'm in the same boat.

Yes, there is one. GS has them used, so just get one, use it, and return it within the 7 day return window
I went to my GS today and they only had the older cables in stock apparently, so beware.

There's two of them, an older grey cable that won't work with a Xbox S or Xbox E drive (works with the fat drive) and a newer black one that does work with any drive, fat or S/E-style.

I ran into this issue when I was trying to transfer data from my S unit's 320GB drive to a new 500GB drive and my old style cable wouldn't connect to the newer drive.
Had the same situation happen here. What's odd though is that the GS site just let me put a hold in for the newer cable model at my store...

leveon bell rushed for 20 yards in the last ravens game, where the steelers won by 20+ and ben threw for 6 touchdowns
But the Ravens still had to gameplan for him. In this game they focus solely on taking away Antonio Brown and make the young receivers step up as well as whoever is getting snaps at rb.

I do think the Ravens will win but more because I think they have a way of turning it on when it matters, but it should be a very good game. Im from Massachusetts so I'm looking forward to seeing who has to come here in the next round

I had to go out to a gamestop to get a newer transfer cable to transfer from my 320GB slim HD to the newer 500GB HD myself. For as much as I paid for the 500GB HD ($109) I felt they should have included the newer transfer cable. The newer cable supports both XBox 360 HD interfaces. I ended up paying $130 for the privilege to upgrade from the 320GB to 500GB hard drive. I feel so ripped off.

There is a cable to move it but it seems like GS doesnt carry it anymore as I'm in the same boat.

I went to my GS today and they only had the older cables in stock apparently, so beware.

Had the same situation happen here. What's odd though is that the GS site just let me put a hold in for the newer cable model at my store...
The only place I could find the newer cable was on the Microsoft Store and it was $20 + tax w/FS. I could live with that cost knowing I wouldn't have to deal with again in the future to track down a cable.

I decided to just use a USB to copy my pertinent game saves over for now, but thanks for the tip. Might do that to avoid redownloading all my games

That works when you have 32GB of less of stuff to move. I'd rather do a "fire-and-forget" to copy data from one drive to another. I just used that drive to replace my MW2 250GB "fat" console with a 500GB E console I picked up from Target.

Amazon has it, though the picture is misleading:

Product description: Easily transfer all your data from the original Xbox 360 hard drive to the next. Compatible with Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 S consoles, the Hard Drive Transfer Cable allows you to keep your saved data and game on.

I ordered one of these about a month ago because I switched from a 250gb to 500gb S console of course.

I would be concerned about the picture, since that looks like the old cable. This is the link to the item on the MS Store site, which shows the right picture:

http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/Xbox-360-Hard-Drive-Transfer-Cable/productID.253743300

The bit on the side is for the S/E-style hard drive, which is missing on the old cable. The new and old cable have the bit in the middle which is for the fat-style drive.

It's sold out at the moment, so you can't order it from there.

Yeah I was concerned because of the picture at first but after reading some of the reviews along with the product description, I went ahead and bought it, figured I'd return it if it wasn't the right one but it was. :)

Hey all..I have $13.76 of converted credit that suppose to expire this summer, so I was wondering if you guys have any game recommendations before the sale ends?

Have a 360, but don't use it that much so don't have gold either. I have access to a x1 though.. just not planning on buying my own until later down the line.

Don't know if anyone else had suggested this, but if you have an older 360 hard drive (the huge rectangular ones that fit on top of the old FAT systems) you could use the older transfer cable to move data from the S hard drive to the FAT hard drive, then plug into the new system and move the data over from the FAT hard drive. That's what I did. It took about 3 trips because I only had the old 120 gb FAT hard drive. I wanted to do it all in one shot too but would've had to drive 2 hours to get a new S to S transfer cable.

Grabbed the physical version of Advanced Warfare last night and played through the first three missions. Thats an amazing game. It really looks next gen on a big 1080p TV.

Any chance Far Cry 4 drops in price soon? Microsoft might give me a refund for DAI. It feels too boring at times with the grind for resources and what not. I have Destiny (too grindy too), Forza 5, ACIV, AC Unity, Halo MCC, COD AW, NBA 2k15, Titanfall, GTA 5. I have owned NHL 15, NBA 2k14, Madden 15, FIFA 15, Watchdogs, UFC, FIFA 14, Need For Speed (EA Access), Plants v. Zombies (EA Access) as well. BF4 was also purchased on the PS4 when I had one. So what X1 games do I need to buy? I am thinking about just rebuying FIFA 15, but I feel like EA Access will get it eventually. FC4 has good MP and co-op besides the story? How long is the SP too?

Forza Horizon 2. My personal GOTY. Can't get enough of it.

Did you buy DA:I digital? I don't think Microsoft offers a refund for you not liking the game (or any other reason for that matter).

Sunset Overdrive, Forza Horizon 2 and Shadow of Mordor.

On digital I wanted a refund on broken Halo MCC and when I talked to support he said they can only issue refunds on unplayed digital games. Not sure if that's true or false but that's what he told me.

Speaking of COD, I'm going through the series of games in order and I just started one that's actually a lot of fun:

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

I'm tired of World War II based gameplay so this was a nice surprise. I love the variety of levels from escaping a sunken ship to bombing people from an airplane. I can see where the Battlefield: Bad Company games got their ideas (or did previous Battlefield titles do stuff like this first?).

I will say I still prefer my FPS games where I'm on my own (Rage, Doom, Timesplitters) and not among groups, but I'm really loving COD 4 so far.

Welcome to like seven years ago. ;)

Seriously though, do yourself a favor and just stop playing CoD games after you finish it.

I played the trial. It's not too bad. How's the mp and co-op play? I heard it didn't sell so well either.
Ive never played the trial but depending on when it takes place in the game it may not be a good representation of how the game plays later on. Once you get the air dash and become comfortable with the controls and traversal system the game becomes insanely fun.

As for the coop/multiplayer i have only played a few times but never had trouble finding a game (although i think i have read some CAGs did have trouble) Its like a mix of vs and coop because you are all trying to kill the computer enemies but you are competing for score. There is one weapon (hair spray rocket launcher at level 5) that kills enemies significantly faster than others and requires absolutely no skill so unfortunately this weapon gets spammed a lot and it can become a handful of people just launching random rockets hoping to be the one to get the kill.

I didn't get the game for the mp but did find it to be fun when I did play it, but the game is primarily a single player experience.

Edit. Also went 4/4 on my playoff picks this weekend. Wish i had set up a parlay

Just wanna say I'm glad I stuck with Sunset Overdrive.

Game is pure fun after an hour or so in.
I've played an hour or two and I'm sort of still waiting for the gameplay to "click" for me... It's tough to always need to worry about moving/grinding while you're fighting the enemies.
