Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

I can't say I care enough about the whole trophies vs. achievements debate since they're the same damn thing. The only thing unique between them is the platinum, but everything else is arbitrary BS.
Except you lose them should they add DLC achievements and they don't add to your point total. Platinums denote that you earned all of the original trophies.
Someone is cranky

I would say same thing.

Here's a link about Seagate backup plus

http://www.myopinionofthings.com/seagate-backup-plus-fast-with-an-xbox-one/

Interesting stuff :)

That is interesting. I'd like to see some actual downloads and compare which is faster though, or does that not make any difference at all? I dunno. I just know I'd be more interested in that. A second or two for load times isn't s big deal for me but if I can shave a couple hours off a download or install, I'm sold.

Far Cry 4, GTA5, Watch Dogs and Sherlock Holmes are all games I'd pick up in a second if they went on sale. I'd really like that monopoly plus game too (not all the add-ons) but I'm skeptical. I bought a monopoly game for 360 when it was on sale and thought it sucked pretty bad.
I'd love a sale on Sherlock Holmes, but it'd have to be an amazing deal considering the game is $65 on the Canadian Marketplace.

Ditto on that. The Sherlock Holmes game is $35 on Amazon, but I just don't want to bite at that price. I'd be willing to throw down $25 for it though.

Games I would like to see as GWG on Xbox one but probably won't for a while:

Threes
Trials
Tetris Evolution
Valiant Hearts
Lococycle
Jack Pack Party Pack

The sucky thing about GWG is I'm trigger shy to buy any of these because I always wonder if they will go GWG in the next few months.

Elegance in simplicity! Gamerscore is just a total number, it's immediately intuitive how it works. With trophies, it's like, okay, I'm level 7, but what does level 7 mean? How many games do you need to play to go up a level? Are all the levels the same? Bronze, silver, and gold trophies-- a silver trophy is worth more than a bronze, but how much more? twice as much, five times as much...? How come some games have more gold and silver trophies than others, is there a rule for how they're allotted? Platinum trophy means I completed a game, but if DLC adds more trophies, do I still get to keep my Platinum? How come some games don't even have a Platinum?

Not that these questions can't be answered, but the whole thing suggests that Sony's strategy to avoid looking like a carbon copy of gamerscore was to shove in a bunch of unnecessary complexity.
http://community.us.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-General/Sony-Playstation-Trophy-System-Explained/td-p/13901166

PS trophy system is not as complex as you're making it sound, that being said I prefer achievements since I already have so much invested in them at this point.

Anyone else have problems committing to games that don't have Achievements? I have found it harder to go back to old games because I have been conditioned to feeling joy when I unlock another achievement.

On X1: terraria is $10, Jackabox is $16.74 and never alone is $10.00

360: darkness is $5
Borderlands pee sequel is $30
WWE 2k15 is $40.19
And some bl pre-sequel dlc is 25% off

Anyone else have problems committing to games that don't have Achievements? I have found it harder to go back to old games because I have been conditioned to feeling joy when I unlock another achievement.
Not me. I was fairly hooked on trophies when they were first introduced, but I've gotten back to the point where I don't care about them at all. Unless it's a game I already love and am looking for a reason to keep playing (Dark Souls 2, for example), I couldn't care less about achievements/trophies . If anything, one thing I kind of appreciate about the Wii U is that it doesn't have them.

Anyone feel WWE 2k15 is worth it $45? My friend let me borrow it, but I haven't played the Career Mode. So far, Universe feels really old now since it's just based on rivalries and shows, but nothing new. A lot of the roster is gutted. The game modes hardly exist. It feels like the creative arm for the game is just simply not there.

It dropped you all the way back to 1 star? Since the FAQ says "Members will stay in their tier until he/she reaches the next spending threshold.", I figured it would keep people wherever they were at, and you should be at 2 stars, though with 0% progress toward the 3rd star after the January reset.

I was just 1 star last year, and it kept me there when it reset the 53% progress I had toward the 2nd star (I spent $215.03 on the digital marketplace last year). I bought the Telltale bundle at the end of the countdown sale and am now 13% of the way to the 2nd star ($55 / $400) instead of 36% of the way to the first star ($55 / $150). Though I could never tell if everyone started off at 1 star anyway and that $150 threshold didn't really apply. I got MyVIP credits before I reached $150 spent, though I was close to the threshold. This reply on their forums indicates spending $150 was necessary, but who knows ...
It did..I was at 2 stars with 4% discounts already and 23% progress to the 3rd star now I back at Lvl 1 with 0% towards anything *sigh*

For me, the last wrestling game I played was WCW versus NWO on the N64. Just not really a genre I'm in to any more.

Is it just me or is it completely stupid that both XCOM: Enemy Within and XCOM: Enemy Unknown are on sale for $10?  As far as I know, XCOM: Enemy Within is a standalone expansion that effectively replaces Enemy Unknown.

anybody got any recommendation Hard Drives for Xbox One?
Any portable hard drive that doesn't use it's own AC power. I have been using a 2tb Seagate Backup Plus slim, but I also recommend any western digital passport or western digital elements portable drives. Just make sure you don't pay more than $100 for a hard drive, which shouldn't be difficult to find.

I haven't played it, but I heard it sucks and the reviews weren't that good either. From what you wrote it seems you didn't really like what you tried, so I'd go with no since you'll be stuck with it. With a disk copy you could at least trade it in if it sucks

Each with their own set of achievements though.

And I'd be upset at Bioshock Infinite season pass not being on sale AGAIN, if not for new Rock Band DLC coming.

yeah, i bought my physical copy from ms store for $11. lol

I can't seem to see the $10 price on Enemy Within...My Gold expires tomorrow so I want to buy this ASAP since I have no plans on renewing and it is one of the last 360 games I want...Anyone have any ideas?

EDIT: Booted up my 360 and saw it for $9.99. Good way to close out my XBL Gold...

That it does and all the better that it's not more expensive.

I can't say I care enough about the whole trophies vs. achievements debate since they're the same damn thing. The only thing unique between them is the platinum, but everything else is arbitrary BS.
See I love the platinum because it's a little more satisfying than just oh I'm 1000/1000. On the other hand for incomplete stuff the GS communicates it a bit better to me. So now Nintendo just needs to make a hybrid to satisfy me!

If you want to play vanilla Xcom without the new features, you will need to keep EU.

Hilariously lazy sale. Bioshock Infinite eps were on sale for $5 each recently. Spec Ops was also $5. Now they're all $7.49? Though I might bite on Bioshock 1 and 2. But the Ultimate Rapture Edition is only $19.99 preowned...

But Nintendo didn't come up with the concept themselves, so it's probably something they'd have a hard time understanding until another company shows there's big money in it. Then Nintendo would attempt to follow through, though fuck it up somehow. See Internet gaming and Skylanders / Amiibo.

I played and enjoyed 12 13 and 14. I've heard nothing but negative things about 15 in comparison. I'd wait for lower.

Well Nintendo either rips people off in amazing ways or like they think it's 1992.

What is Never Alone?
It's the Inuit game.
