Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

If they could play as well and get as lucky all the time as they did in the last five minutes of that game, they might be able to beat the Patriots...

I need a GTAV sale... I know I want to buy it digital, and I know I don't want to pay full price.
Sure..you do remember a better patriot team and an inferior seahawk team met before right? Remember that outcome? Pats lost.

You missed GTA5 sale by like a week or two.

So I've looked on here and haven't seen the answer to my question. Does the xbox one not offer any trails for their "arcade" games?

That's what I was thinking. I don't understand why they would take that feature away on the one, but I can't find it any where.
They seem to be going away from it. Even the retail game demo pickings are slim. YT, Twitch or opinions from people in here is how buy these arcade games I've never played or heard of nowadays.

Damn that sucks. It was always easier just to play the game for 20 and decide. Thanks for the heads up

Yup, it was essentially a demo for an arcade game on the 360.

Keep in mind I have REmake on PS3 only. The file installed after purchase and a key was automatically downloaded making the game playable.

Plays great BTW. Those who hated the "tank" controls should love the free roaming analog movement. I personally had no problem with the original "tank" controls so I'm playing with those.

EDIT: I was thinking of saying "I had no idea tank controls were a problem" and typed part of that in my original message.

I'll be going with the free roam. I have had all I want with those tank controls, I never did like them

Who has played Adventure Time: The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom? It looks like a mix of Diablo and Zelda, seems cool. I do enjoy watching the toons so please let me know what you thought.
I haven't played Secret of the Nameless Kingdom much, but I did interview the publisher. Please check it out: http://www.windowscentral.com/adventure-time-interview

The opening segment I played is pure classic Zelda. I really like the game so far, but I've heard it can be tough to figure out where to go (like NES Zelda) sometimes.

Microsoft stopped requiring developers to make demos when the Xbox One came along, so now it's completely optional. Most developers don't actually like making demos (which is extra work) so not many have been doing it on Xbox One.

This might seem ridiculous but I've been waiting for Yosumin, Moon Diver, 0 Attack on Earth and Space Invaders Infinity Gene to drop. I will probably pick up Crystal Defenders as well. Gyromancer, I need to find out more about. I guess waiting until the tail end of the 360's life cycle to join Xbox Live was the right course of action.

Crystal Defenders and Moon Diver have definitely been on sale before. I think Infinity Gene might have once as well.

Long story short, I just got home broadband back in October, so these sales are new to me, and my backlog has grown pretty quickly in the past few months. For this sale, I immediately purchased Space Invaders and Yosumin. The others I'm going to wait on since $7.49 is pretty steep to me based on how much per game I've been spending lately. $5 is my favorite price point for Live purchases right now.

Sure..you do remember a better patriot team and an inferior seahawk team met before right? Remember that outcome? Pats lost.
This years Patriots team is the best its been since '08 pre Brady Knee shred (basically the 18-1 '07 team). But I do agree that Seattle is much better than they were 2 seasons ago when they played. I think Seattlr will be the favorite, but have faith that the Pats can pull one out.

As for the guy asking about the Darkness. I really enjoyed it when I first played it and enjoyed the sequel as well, but at this point it's gonna feel pretty dated Id imagine

Glad I held off on The Pre-sequel.

Might be cool to play BL2 on my Xbox One also but I put a lot of hours into it already.
I've gotten my money's worth out of the Pre-Sequel and still have plenty to play. I wonder how achievements / trophies will work with the cross saves. $400 collector's edition is pricey, wonder how big the remote controlled Clap-trap is.

Well I guess my decision is probably made about REmake... I have $6 in reward points in my XBox account and $15 in RZC at BB.  Guess I'll buy the $15 card online (why oh why don't they sell digital!) and head over later, supposed to be nice today so going to head out anyway to a park or something with my kids.  Then again, sometimes it takes LONGER to pick up an online order than it does just to buy it yourself, need to always think about how long I'll have my kids in there lol.

Definitely want Dying Light though too might have to end up trading something in...or should I use my $15 credit on that grrrr.

Borderlands 2 on Vita shares the same trophy list as the PS3 version, so I hope they don't do the same with this version. I think the consumer deserves to be able to earn double trophies/achievements if they buy the game twice.

It will have a different achievement list, but they all might unlock right away if you transfer an old save that has all achievements unlocked already. Ideally they would completely change the achievement list to avoid this and change things up for people that completed them already.

Barely played RE1 because of the controls. I'm a fan of the franchise, so I picked up the newest version. Hopefully I'll be able to enjoy it.

And sure enough, Resident Evil is up and running.

Fun fact: This is the only Gamecube game I've beaten.
You didn't beat Eternal Darkness? Such a good game.

Glad I held off on The Pre-sequel.

Borderlands is one of my favorite series but I've barely touched TPS since it came out, didn't grab me as much as the other games plus I've been too busy with Destiny and others. Maybe being on Xbone will make it more appealing.

It will have a different achievement list...
Do you have confirmation of this? This was the assumption with BL2 Vita, but the final release product didn't have a separate list. I'm sure PS4/Xbox One versions will get more attention to detail than the Vita version, though.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/01/20/state-of-decay-year-one-survival-edition-release-date-announced

Microsoft and Undead Labs have announced that State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition will be available via disc or download on April 28 for $29.99. Those who own State of Decay for Xbox 360 will receive a 33% discount, making Year One Survival Edition $19.99 for them.
How much has it changed since release? I bought it on release and was very disappointed. Not only did I not realize that the game kept on playing when you weren't (I never once saw that mentioned before I bought it, lol...not in reviews, not anywhere), and that just doesn't cut it for me having 3 kids all 4 and under because I never know how long or when I can play again... But the game itself just felt like a demo of a game (not even a finished product) from like 2002.

The concept was cool but I could never get into it... I haven't tried it again in a long time though and I heard they made tons of improvements. Not sure if the XB1 edition would be worth it when it comes out or not.

State of Decay should be $10 for those who purchased on 360. It would be one thing had they added the long promised coop... Then I'd pay $20.

IMO they should have produced a sequel and not a rehash... Not a game I need to replay a year after it came out. Almost as necessary as a Sleeping Dogs remake.

By different I mean that they could be the same achievements, but you can earn them again. Xbox One and 360 achievements are separated.

It would be amazing if it's like Destiny where any achievement you earned in the 360 version automatically unlocks on Xbone when you log in. 1625/1625 just for popping in Borderlands 2 again...

Just finished Operation Raccoon City and...........mehhh

its not as god awful as most people make it seem but you can see why it wouldnt make anybodys top games list

but it wasnt all bad

Cons

- The aiming is pretty bad and annoying, seems really figgidy like the aiming reticule is having a seizure

- I know i played it on the hardest difficulty but it just seems dumb having to plug a spec op over 30 times for him to go down

- Not that i expected an extensive backstory on the main umbrella soldiers you play as but something would have been nice

- Unless your going for 1000 GS theirs absolutely no replay value, once you beat it no urge to really play again

- Super short game,if your dedicated to beating it in an afternoon its probably possible

- Yep the A.I is pretty stupid, they will walk into your line of fire constantly as your practically blow your teammates head off by mistake,

and on a few occassions during boss fights they just stood their,no shooting no movement just dead still.

- That abrupt ending :(

Pros

- I thought the multiplayer modes were pretty nice, like heroes mode where you play as the main characters (Leon,Claire,Jill,Carlos) or the bad guys (Hunk,Ada,Nicholai, lone wolf)

- The characters were pretty cool looking.Everybody has unique little abilities and they all stood out, wouldnt mind seeing like Lupo or Beltway somehow put into a future RE Game

- Another Multiplayer positive is just how crazy it gets in a versus match, fighting the other players while zombies and hunters constantly get in your way,it gets annoying but its not to bad

- Im a huge fan of RE2 and RE3 so anything that has to do with that timeline is cool to me even though this game

Although its not the worse thing in existence in my opinion its still not that awful

4/10

Sorry if this is the wrong place to randomly put up this review but just figured why not, someone might benefit from reading it

I agree with you 100%, but a lot of people prefer to have one list so that if they use cross save across different consoles they don't have 2 half-finished trophy/achievement lists.

That's why Sound Shapes is perfect where they just let you sync it up. Get double the trophies, half of the work.

0 day Attack on Earth and Gryomancer are both $7.49 according to xbldb.

I've never heard of these games. Are they any good?
Thanks for the feedback. I remember now that Gyromancer was this Bejeweled-RPG hybrid that I hated. "Press A To Continue" to ad nauseam.

0 day Attack on Earth doesn't look like my kind of game, but I'll give the demo a try anyway along with Yosumin and Crystal Defenders.

Remember you can adjust between the original controls and the new "analog controls all movement" controls in the options menu. Each has three settings, IIRC.

I agree, just never finished it. Same goes for Super Mario Sunshine and Ocarina of Time.

Excited to have Borderlands on Xbox One but I am somewhat bummed that the first game is not included.

Also, I really want Dead Rising AE but $30 is still too steep for me. I put $20 as my buyback price for that game. Oh well looks like I will be waiting a bit longer!

LOL keep waiting for $20 then. Doubt it'll get any lower this year for probably the best current-gen launch title game with all 4 story DLCs included.

I understood what you meant. What you may not realize is that BL2 Vita and BL2 PS3 share the exact same trophy list not two matching lists that each get filled out. You only get credit once for each trophy even though you own two different versions of the game. This would be more understandable if BL2 was cross-buy between PS3 and Vita, but it is not.

I agree with you 100%, but a lot of people prefer to have one list so that if they use cross save across different consoles they don't have 2 half-finished trophy/achievement lists.
I understand the reasoning but it makes little sense to me. If someone cares about their trophy/achievement list enough to care about this, wouldn't they also be the same type of person who likes more trophies rather than fewer trophies?

So many violations of cag rule #43: don't rebuy a game on multiple systems.

You see lots of, I played it on PC and PS3 so I'll be buying it on One when it comes out. Why? You have infinite amounts of time to reexperience the same story, levels, villains? You have infinite amounts of money to buy a game many times?

Of course, I never found the worth in rereading books I finished or rewatching movies I've seen like others do which definitely makes me the odd one.

Digital hoarding FTW! I am so guilty of this and I'm exactly the same way in that I just can't enjoy stuff that's all about story a second time through. Every time I buy a BR that's not something my kid will watch multiple times I wonder why I bothered.

Then again I have a hard enough time going through stuff the first time.

As someone who has put nearly 200 hours in, I can say... it came out of the oven half-cooked, at first. Theres been--7? 8?--major revisions to the game engine and mechanics since its release, and this new iteration is supposed to be the final smooth-over. The game doesn't punish you anywhere near as severe for not playing it daily as your group members could die or "run away" from camp never to be seen again if you didn't play it before; that's all gone. Resources that you've collected still get eaten-up as your away but at a much, MUCH slower rate, making things like a week's hiatus a hindrance rather than impossible start-over. 9 times out of ten zombies are no longer teleporting through walls when en masse to get you, all the really game breaking bugs that screamed "beta" seem to have been ironed out. Honestly, I just played through the vanilla campaign again a few months back and the only bug that stood out was the leaderboards still get pissy if you quit a game with a survivor not at home, then it flags your Save as cheating and freezes your leaderboard scores, which is really minor in the scheme of things.

Currently, the AI can still be a little daft, and situations where you're, say, (bear with me) in the middle of one side quest and you drive too close to where someone is in the middle of being devoured by a mob of zombies and wants to be rescued as their own quest... well, you still can't, say, get the two quests at the same time (boy I wish I could explain that in less words), stuff like that still was a problem. But if you like exploring, looting, some mild resource management, and third-person action it can be a really rewarding time-suck.

This new X1 edition is going to include the action-oriented "Lifeline" DLC and the first DLC "Breakdown" which each play differently than the vanilla campaign--which is also getting some features from the DLCs implemented into it as well as "a few new weapons and characters" so they said.

Sincerely Yours,
CAGs resident SoD fanboy
