Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

All of the previously leaked list of wicked weekend offers in the ultimate game sale are now live!
Except Halo MCC.

Maybe they decided to pull Halo mcc because they realized the patch wasnt ready and they couldn't handle all the new players?
Or because that game exists just to disappoint? We never needed Halo MCC, it was always in our hearts...taking a dump on our window when we were expecting the tooth fairy instead.

I've been trying to cut down on my gaming spending out of pocket. During the course of the sale I ended up getting $4 in Xbox rewards, a $10 tip at work and a $25 visa card prize from work. It was like the world was insisting I get all the games I was considering. I used the visa card to grab some xbox credit I could use for the sale. So far my tally is

Lords of the fallen- $5 after xbox rewards
Sniper elite 3- $10 tip
How to survive- $8 of visa card

So I still have like $16 to spend during the sale if I want. Considering Styx but I've read its a pretty hardcore stealth game, and i really don't enjoy stealth games. Already have quite a few of the other games so may just call it a sale, and put it towards the Evolve seasons pass

is Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen really worth it if I own the original version still shrink wrapped and unplayed?
If you can sell the original, then yes. If nothing, then at least you won't have to change discs everytime you decide to play. A warning though, the game will take up almost 9GB, due to the game file itself and the HD Texture pack (clocks in at about 1.6GB).

lol, I have 87 XBO games now between physical and digital, and I have probably actually played maybe 1/3 of them. Damn you Destiny!
I didn't even realize that there were 87 Xbone games in existence!

About Destiny, though: I was absolutely hooked until I picked up Far Cry 4 on a whim and started playing it instead. What a world of difference. You have to earn those headshots, you feel a tremendous sense of accomplishment after sneaking into an enemy compound and silently killing every last man. When I went back to Destiny, I barely had to aim to get constant headshots, and the game seemed far too easy and extremely repetitive. I felt like I was being manipulated; tricked into false moments of glory when my actions didn't really demand all that much skill. The game is entirely linear, Far Cry offered endless possibilities and moments of sheer madness. It definitely has its problems too, don't get me wrong; I just feel that Destiny is addictive because you are constantly rewarded regardless of true skill (at least the single player portion). Far Cry made me feel like a champ when I earned it (and a chump when I screwed up), and I found that to be much more engaging. Haven't played Destiny since.

Do we have any idea why Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments has a gold discount but isn't advertised on any of the sale pages?

You guys make my 62 digital X1 games look like amateur hour. I have probably played 1/3rd of what I own max. making me think I'm wasting my money but atleast I don't trade them in this way.

I only have like 50.  I feel inadequate now.

I haven't even played 10 for five minutes or more so I win there at least.

Ughh...trying to talk myself out of buying Dark Arisen again...I already have it installed on my PS3...already owned and completed a full playthrough of the original non Dark Arisen version when it first came out on the PS3, yet I'm feeling strangely compelled to double dip on it for the 360...

Masters_93 mentioned the large file size several posts ago. Reading 9.3 gb made me cringe since I waffle on losing precious space on my hard drive and I have roughly 193 gb left. But I leave it up to replay value in those cases. There are several games that I have re-bought digitally just because I like them that much - Fallout 3, New Vegas, Burnout Revenge for example. My Xbox 360 is kind of like a jukebox to me. I want to be able to have access to my favorite games whenever I want them. So if you liked Dark Arisen that much and see yourself wanting to replay it again and again, I suppose it's worth it. I remember playing the first one and got frustrated as hell at the braindead pawns. Perhaps the game might have gotten better if I had really given it a chance but that's why I'm willing to pass on Dark Arisen.

Not that most are probably interested, but the rewards system is based on variable ratio schedules of reinforcement, re: operant conditioning/behaviorism. It's one of the most powerful ways to modify behavior as the rewards system is random (but still on a schedule), like slot machines.

So if you felt manipulated to play longer to earn legendary drops, that's b/c you were ;)

As an aside, I think if the loot system was fairer, (i.e. not exploitable in the first month or so, more variety of rewards, more often occurring rewards), then they would've held on to me longer, as the mechanics felt tight. I gave up around light 28 or 29 after playing the new DLC once (which was three levels, a strike, a raid, and no achievements...for $15). Even though I bought the pass at launch, I don't imagine I'm going back.

The 360 size is a bit smaller than the ps3. 9gb on the 360, 12gb on the ps3. The pawns, once you can afford to hire high level ones, are what makes the game so much fun, for me. The ones I've used were great fun, but you've got to get ones that use the skills you want. Grr...I may end up buying it after all just to have access to it whenever I want on whatever system I want...

This ultimate game sale has been an ultimate dissapointment!  I'll probably pick up sonic racing.  I remember liking the demo.  But that's all these's been for me.

So other people spending $100 vs you just buying 1 game = ultimate disappointment. I'm surprised you didn't call 911 to report it.

Exaclty why you're taking an offended defensive stand on my personal experience with this sale is beyond me. From my point of view it was. Why should what other people are doing have any weight on that? If it has been good for them, that's fine. But my statement wasn't associated with them and still stands valid. So go champion a cause worth saving and get the sand out of your vagina. Also, good job pointing out a typo. Is that how people on the internet point out how they are right and other person must be wrong? Sad.

And who calls 911 for disappointment? 911 is for emergencies. Are you unaware of the decorum for which to use 911? Are you one of those people that calls 911 because Mcdonalds got your order wrong? Yea, that would explain a lot.

Ok just grabbed Sniper Elite 3 since it since it isn't worth waiting for the ultimate edition when I have 1 of the 4 dlc packs already. Passed on How to Survive since I know it will be cheaper soon enough. Wanted Lara Croft and ToS + sp but I already picked it up for around the same price at BB on :ps4: Should have waited since I rather get it here :(

Final haul = Sniper Elite 3, Lords of the Fallen, Kinect Sports Rivals, Costume Quest 2, DoA5 CF, and State of Decay.

Not taking an offended defensive stand (wow, that's a lot of adjectives), just poking fun at you for being typical internet people that uses superlatives on something based on their own opinion, but never specify ownership of said superlative.

The 911 was in reference to people that gets all upset when Facebook is down and calls 911 to complain about it.

Seems like you got super riled up over a ribbing. Keep attending those anger management classes, mkay.

It's really my fault for not anticipating this response though, since it was obvious from the start you would've taken everything personally as if the world revolved around you.

In topic related news, Halo: MCC seems to be on sale for $35.99

However, there is no official announcement of the Wicked Weekend sales going live yet, so for those looking to buy it, you should probably hold off and hope they bring it down to the $24.99 price that was in the leaked Australian test page.

if this was mentioned I'm sorry but I dont see it anywhere Strider on Xbox one is on sale for 4.95 with gold bought last night

Roundabout seems to be available to purchase and play now. I watched a stream last night and it looks terrible. It's a vehicle spinning in circles and you need to manipulate around stuff. I'm a bit taken back at its $15 price tag. I thought it would be a $3 thing.

Yeah, I was one day outside of the return policy on Temple of Osiris when the new sales came out. Womp womp. We'll have to play out co-op since it makes it much better apparently.

Shame on you for passing on How to Survive but you're talking me into Sniper 3 and KSR.

Major Nelson will be giving away codes for it on Twitter in about half an hour.

It certainly isn't for everyone, but I enjoyed it a lot. There's a ridiculous amount of content: challenges, unlockables, minigames, easter eggs, collectibles. The humor is absurd at times, can be truly funny. I mean, come on, there's even a playable homage to the infamous Desert Bus! The gameplay certainly isn't for everyone, but if you get the hang of it, there's so much to do and to enjoy in it...

Sounds like an experiment in seizure and motion sickness while gaming.

Definitely

You and I both know it will drop about $3 more. Do it. KSR probably won't ever hit lower than that unless its from a sale on MS store or Gamefly.
