I have a EA access free trial code but I'm waiting to use it.  Do they release games in the vault on a monthly basis?  And where can I find info on sales for EA access, is it on the app?

Games are typically released on a monthly basis, the latest being NBA Live 15, Madden 15 and UFC. It all depends when certain EA Xbox One-specific games are released. I'd predict a few dry months coming up as Dragon Age or Hardline won't be hitting EA Access any time soon. I'd assume the next game to hit would be NHL 15 and then FIFA 15 - but I'd say that may be at least 2-3 months.

The only real discount you get with EA Access is 10% off all digital copies of their games. There isn't really any exclusive sales for members.

The app should help answer any further questions you have.

There are no sales exclusively for EA Access unless I managed to miss them all. They offer 10% off MSRP for all of their digital games, but that doesn't stack with the sales on XBL. There isn't much reason to buy the games unless you're highly anticipating the game and the 10% off is better than nothing, but even GCU makes that less enticing than it could be.

There's no reason to replay the levels over and over again if you don't care about the medal stuff unless you suck at it since levels are unlocked as you build up points, but I only had to stop and replay a level or two once when I played through the game.

Velocity 2X is a fantastic game that manages to offer shmup and action/platforming sequences in the same levels with basically the same controls and it all meshes together way better than you'd expect from a developer that doesn't really have a pedigree in platformers. My review if anybody wants to read more of my thoughts on the game. It was also one of my Top 10 for 2014, for what that's worth.

Thats because there are a lot more people writing code now - it is not an elite profession, per se - and with lot more people, comes lot more errors leading to lot more patches.

It can still be avoided but for the fact that first to market (or rather, specific day/date to market) has become the norm. We set deadlines first, adjust estimates to fit the deadlines and throw people at the project to meet the estimates/deadlines (at least thats what we are doing, where I work - minus, the throw people at the project bit, since we dont have anyone to throw).

AND no, before you jump to a conclusion, I am not one of the 'powers-to-be', I am just a lowly developer who gets thrown at stuff. Thank you!

If you pair the 10% off with deals on XBL credit then it does end up comparable to GCU, especially if like me, you are going all digital this generation.

Sports games are the one genre I'd greatly prefer physical unless the game is on sale for $10 or so because I can trade in the old game towards the next for a decent return, though EA and 2K need to get their shit together with year-to-year saves that MLB The Show introduced for their games starting last year.

Jet Car Stunts ($4.99) and LA Cops($14.99) are both available in the marketplace for XB1 now. They both look pretty terrible though.

I think the Deluxe Edition is worth it because yes the weapons/armor are level 1, but once you hit levels 10 and 15, you get schematics to make upgraded versions of everything from the Deluxe Edition. If you use your best materials, these will still be the best weapons/armor you can find in the game for the Inquisitor. The mounts are also cooler looking if you use them.

You also get to go to dragonage.com and download the soundtrack for free. It unzips as .wav files so you'll have to have something to convert to MP3.

The exceptions to this of course are MLB 2K13 and NCAA Football 14 as physical disk on 360 goes anywhere between $50-$90.

yea I didn't think it was from rewards but I got an email today saying I had 6200. I'm guessing I went over the 5,000 mark with the BF download. I actually purchased it on the marketplace (been getting discounted credit on the CAG forums and other deals, not to mention the gamestop promo last summer)

Is there any way to tell how to earn reward points, specifically? I hear people talking about playing games with gold games and earning 1,000 points but on the site it doesn't seem to have a list of how to earn points other than threw a couple of games and surveys. Just curious, I was earning points like crazy when it was first released but I'm pretty sure past year all the emails I've gotten from the rewards program said zero points earned this month.

The MyMissions page mentions the Games with Gold offers, as does the FAQ.

 
Stick of Truth was one of my favorite games. IMO, it's easily worth $20 for anyone that hasn't played it. You don't have to be a die hard fan to enjoy it, either (but it helps).

I briefly looked at the screenshots for both games and they really don't look like they are worth any money at all. They seem like the kind of games that would be thrown in a bundle that you could get for a penny on pc

Might as well get it if you plan on playing the extra story content with achievements, since they'll be 9.99 a piece. The Moo Oil Rig DLC was like 2 hours long though. Fun, but ridiculously short.

TLDR yes buy it.

Sad part is that I own Ikaruga on Dreamcast and GameCube but the 360 version seems a lot harder. I can't finish the first stage without continues. Maybe my skills are getting dull in my old age. I stopped playing it and went back to Spelunky which is a much easier game. ;)

lol, fantastic, i have some best buy credit to spend so i might pre order this and get it for $40. I'm kind of torn because I haven't played much BF4 premium yet, and I don't like the idea of already selling $50 premium DLC. But it might be fun to mess around with for a few months and still sell the physical copy for 30-40 down the road if I get bored with it. Downloading the Access trial now, we'll see what I think of it.

 
Would anyone of you wonderful CAGs know how to deal with the error code "8015190e"? Support has been useless and I've done everything on their page but I still get random disconnections in the middle of a game. 

 
Ori really is pretty special. I sometimes can't get into Metroidvania games because I don't like constantly running into dead ends while trying to figure out where to go. But it's always really clear where you should be heading in Ori (so far). The platforming is also really fun and challenging.
 
My only complaint about Ori is you hit a point of no return without warning and collectibles are potentially left behind. Other than that it's about as perfect of a Metroidvania as you can get.
