Yeah and THPS2 is one of my favorite games of that era so I was really hopeful. Then again when it was announced it was coming out on my birthday I did apologize that it was going to be crap.

Hopefully the Skate games get BC sooner than later at least.
 
The Bridge and super mega baseball are on the X1 store for an 8/14 release. I have the bridge on 360 and I liked it a lot. Super mega baseball is a day one buy for me. Just waiting for my rewards credits to deposit.


Oh, and super mega baseball is $16.99 pre-order for gold. $20 normally.

Man, Super Mega Baseball came at the right time because there's not a more depressing thought to me than needing to flip back to MLB 2K13 for a video game baseball fix.

 
I try not to trash Tony Hawk games because they put skating games back on consoles after my personal favorite game, Skate or Die. I get they're like an old rapper or rock group trying to stay relevant but I have to respect them trying.

Well this is more like the group died in a plane accident after several years on the decline to where people didn't even recognize them and then the label that owned the rights to their name reformed the group and used the name.

From what I've gathered about it, it's not MLB teams but there's some customization involved to do that and it's a weird mix of sim mechanics with an arcade style thing. Was out on PS4 either late last year or very early this year.

The Tony Hawk series was one of my all-time favorites up through Proving Ground. I tried the first Skate and couldn't get into it. It felt more like a skating simulator and it just felt like a tremendous pain in the ass trying to accomplish anything. I missed the frantic combo mashing while gambling over long combos stretching over the course of a level/city. I'm assuming Skate 3 is the same as Skate 1, just with a park editor, am I correct? I guess I'm less of a fan of skateboarding as a sport and more of a fan of what the Tony Hawk games THINK skating is.

 
I'd love to just be able to play my og Xbox THPS2x on my Xbox One. It's my favorite and I still replay it from time to time on my 360.

I wonder if besides Grabbed by the Ghoulies (Rare Replay), if we'll see any other og Xbox titles on the Xbox One?
 
I have no experiences with Guilty Gear, but loves the Contra game these guys made. How is the series in terms of accessibility and fun? Is either one of these better than the other for some reason? Thanks!

GG is your another 'anime fighting game with cool characters. Visuals and art style that's what I like about this series, actually BlazBlue falls into this category as well. Characters are fun and unique with flashy super moves. And it does have s0me story.

Guilty Gear is very similar to the Street Fighter games in terms of play with many of the same joystick moves. Games like Accent Core which is the one that's on sale for $3.74 this week include great hand drawn 2D art so I would definitely go with the one if you are interested in fighting games. Guilty Gear 2 is a tactical strategy style game that is in 3D so it is nothing like the other games in the series. I remember reading a review of it in Play Magazine years ago that it totally strayed away from the original formula so it might not be a good game for fans who are expecting a 2D fighter. I bought it anyway because $4.99 isn't too much for me to sate my curiosity.

If you're looking for a good, proper 2D fighting game, get Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus ($3.74, first decent sale). Guilty Gear 2 is a mediocre (3D) RTS ($5, not its first sale). Don't forget to get the free +R patch DLC (it doesn't auto-update).

I bought Boggle for Xbox One since I enjoy word games and I can say it doesn't hold a candle to the Android version. A game like Boggle needs a touch screen and the fact that you can only use the analog stick and not the d-pad to choose your letters is a real letdown. My advice is buy the mobile version. It's cheaper and controls are not as clunky for making words quickly.
 
Damn I thought SMB was available to play today, didn't know it was just for pre-order. Oh well, definitely going to pick it up for the discount and support these guys, been wanting to play this ever since it dropped on Playstation. Heard nothing but good things about it.

I wouldn't call it cartoony. It's just a little bit more stylized than if it were a realistic look. Torchlight and its sequel are what I'd call cartoony.

Had a couple buddies over the other day and after playing a few rounds of MK X the three of us decided to try Risk... Four hours later and we ended up having to quit the game cause we had to do other things to do. Apparently world domination isn't quick so I guess next time we will need to set aside an entire day

Probably pretty obvious but for anyone curious, the disc version of rare replay does require the disc for all the games.  Both the ones inside the rare launcher and the ones that end up on your dashboard as standalone 360 emulated games (perfect dark, banjo games, etc).

Very different games. Phantom Pain is different than past Metal Gear games, it has an open world set up with an expanded base building mechanic like in Peace Walker. MGS V is the third game focusing on Big Boss, if you care about story I'd hold off if you haven't played these games, or play them now, and if you don't care about story at all Metal Gear probably isn't the best choice for you. Metal Gear is one of the most loved series in video games, and there's a reason we only see the Solid games every 3-5 years. As far as content goes, supposedly there's quite a bit there, sounds like 150+ hours to do everything.

I don't really play racing games, but it's hard for me to view the new Forza as anything other than Forza 2015, since they're yearly now.
