I know I have a download bandwidth cap (but whether it's enforced is another matter), but I've never heard of an upload bandwidth cap. Obviously ISPs don't want you to run your Napster clone server from your house but I don't think this would be anywhere near that level of upload activity.

no and my save file was not there, but player level carries between playthroughs so I guess it was tied to my tag

On your 360, if you go to storage, find the game and look for the save file, you can select it and copy it to the cloud. Then it syncs with the Xbox One so you can play where you left off.

Worked perfectly for me and Shadow Complex.

Unless you have expiring credit, I recommend waiting a little for the Smite pack. I own it, but shook my head when they announced a new game. Smite was the nail in the coffin for Tribes, and many people are equally scared that HiRez will neglect the current game for the new baby.

Unrelated to your post, but how is Windows 10 so far? I'm really tempted to upgrade from Windows 7, but I keep procrastinating and talking myself out of it. Except I'm really curious about it too, with all the new shiny bells and whistles and (supposed) extra speed. I'm indecisive.

I would highly advise against upgrading just yet. I personally ran into a list of problems that took me a week of troubleshooting to figure out. I tried salvaging my OS and previous data but eventually just backed up my important saves and did a fresh Windows 10 install (thank god for a separate data drive containing my steam games). I had to install it a few times, one instance was a bad Nvidia GPU driver, one was definitely a bug in Windows 10 as "sfc /scannow" showed multiple errors.

TLDR; Just be patient and wait. Windows 10 is very new and still needs time to work out the kinks. I've read about recent Windows Updates causing issues so I'm going to defer updates for a bit and not give myself any more headaches lol. Hope this helps.

Unlock the Super Reload and Infinite Ammo mutators and play Arcade. Still a couple hairy spots even with those mutators on, but it makes things a lot easier.

I don't really do any gaming on my computer, except some occasional Diablo 3 and maybe World of Warcraft once every 6 months or so. I mostly use this laptop for basic stuff, but I think I will heed your advice and try to stay patient for a bit longer.

It's not even been 2 weeks yet, I had myself convinced before it's release that I was going to wait a couple of months lol

It's awesome. I have a 5ish year old laptop (pretty load spec wise at the time) and the Xbox integration is great. I streamed a game with no issue, the Xbox one controller was immediately detected and usable and the experience was fun. I'm still getting used to the windows 8 aspects left in 10, like how hard it is to just get down in my file system or control panel but that should come with time but the tablet like control panel that lets you flip in between Bluetooth and clear notifications works nicely. I also got some sweet solitaire and minesweeper achievements to show off, so I got that going for me too.

I've upgraded my work surface pro 2, home theater tablet, and gaming laptop to Windows 10 from 8 and haven't run into any problems. I upgraded my pentesting laptop from Windows 7 and seems to be running fine so far.

Also, I highly recommend Start8 which was designed for Windows 8 but seems to be working fine for Windows 10 as well. It changes the Start Menu to the old Windows 7 style instead of having the tablet tile view of Windows 8, it also allowed boot to desktop. This has changed for Windows 10 but it still gives the old Start Menu without tiles.

It's Microsoft, always wait for the first service pack. It's why I've been leery about joining the Xbox preview program.

Looks like Windows 10 has a new version of Solitaire worth 1,000 GS compared to the 200 point one on Windows 8. Can Win10 play the Win8 version, or would upgrading prevent someone from being able to complete the older version? I still have a number of monthly challenges to complete in some of the Win8 games, so if they can't be played in 10, that's another reason to hold off on upgrading.

If it is like Windows 8, accessing the control panel should take only 2 clicks (right click bottom left, click control panel). I was hoping Cortana would be able to take you there if you asked her (like Xbox One Kinect), but I haven't had a chance to get W10 yet. I've seen some PC game clips in the Upload app, so that is also a nice bonus. I tried to update last week with a 2 year old laptop and it failed multiple times :(

The Xbox One streaming to Windows 10 feature is AWESOME.

 
I inadvertently corrupted my Edge browser last night in my Surface, so I get the fun of losing my data and reinstalling W10 tonight from an ISO, fun fun fun. I could just do system recovery, but oh no, that would be too simple. A nice BSOD boot loop prevented that.
 
If anyone is pre-ordering Gears of War Ultimate Edition from Best Buy, or considering doing so, they've added a Golden Hunter pre-order skin.  I just noticed this today, so I'm not sure how long that's been there.

Once you upgrade you lose the windows 8 version but if you have another device you can still do challenges on windows 8 and they all carry over to windows 10.

 
Windows 10 has been great so far for me. For once, I actually like a Microsoft browser (Edge) and it just is much more user friendly and stable overall. May seem risky but I personally would recommend anyone, especially those on Windows 8, to go ahead and update. Xbox One streaming works pretty damn well too.

I would love if they gave us the reverse (stream PC games to Xbox One), but I'd guess that would kill software sales on Xbone.

I think I have my first X1 digital regret, The Swindle.

I have all of this Golden Crisp promo money burning a 40% off hole in my rhetorical pocket and seeing how it was already on sale for a gold members, I thought, "hey, a rogue-like, set in steampunky old London, stealthily sneaking around and nabbing loot? That sounds awesome!"
...Eh. Not so much.


There's almost no character animation whatsoever, it's like they're stiff marionettes the hitbox on enemies is absurd, as despite having this giant weapon-swinging arc you only make contact with enemies when they're practically touching your chest. And there's character upgrades...but they're almost ALL SO ridiculously expensive, you need to be either extremely good, or die dozens (and dozens) of times before being able to afford the first ones.

I played for over an hour, died 35 times, and do not feel accomplished or excited to play at all. And I love a Rogue Legacy and Spelunky (although I'm lousy at the latter), for reference.

I think this is the kind of game that indie-haters have in mind when they bitch about so many arcade/indie games coming out/on-sale/give away for free.

There's my warning, heed it as you will.

This one also has a death limit of sorts. For every death or even if you don't die and head to the next procedurally-generated (another of my tipping points) heist, you're deducted a day from the 100 days you have to complete the final level.

There's some fun to be had--if you like the genre--but it just really struck the wrong nerves with me.

And to answer your rhetorical question, Spelunky and Rogue Legacy instantly had me hooked, then the claws just dug deeper.

I couldn't get into Spelunky at all for some reason. My best friend loves Binding of Isaac so he got me into that one. Rogue Legacy what little I played seemed great though.
