Really about to opt out right now. This crashing shit is annoying. Pre-NXOE, my games crasheed rarely, even less a hard console crash
Now it seems like every couple of hours. Its annoying as hell.
 
I haven't had any big problems with the nxe. It seems a little slower loading up my games and the home button doesn't work 70% of the time. If I try to turn off the controller during Netflix, it pauses the show/movie until I turn the controller back on. If I didn't have a charging station id be going through a lot more batteries.

Oh, and it'll randomly sign me out of my profile and the only way back in is with a hard reset.

That's pretty much it though. No game crashes or serious issues. Minor annoyances mainly. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

Actually on topic- I really want back to the future. I still haven't finished life is strange, walking dead season 2, the wolf among us or tales from the borderlands. I think I'm gonna wait til it's on sale. I'm counting on Christmas sales for a lot of the stuff I want. Fallout 4 and dark souls 3 are the only games I'm getting day one, I think.

I've been pretty lucky myself. I do experience the occasional hiccup, but haven't dealt with game or app crashes. The main thing for me was the home button not working.
 
Since when are we able to see what our buddies are playing on XB1 from our 360s? Kinda cool although I feel like it should've been that way from the beginning.

Long press the Xbox button and the window that pops up gives the option to submit feedback (in addition to the normal "power off console" and "power off controller" options).

That is the issue right, it doesnt show any of my games and if it shows the recent ones, it doesnt let me access the game - saying, the person who bought this needs to be logged in. I am logged in and weirdly, I can see everyone else in the friend list. None of the live things show up, like my pins or the community feed.

It is all sorts of messed up; but I think I have come up with a series of steps to make it work "temporarily" - I have to repeat the steps every single time I switch the console on.

I am going to try another couple of times and come up with what I think is a concrete list of steps for my particular situation. If anyone has the same issues, they can try it and see if that works for them. I seriously suspect we'll hear another case like mine, though.

 
New Xbox Experiences I've had, maybe others have had the same:

Whenever I check the Achievements App and then close it I'm always taken back to the community page, not the home page.  It just doesn't feel intuitive. 

I played Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris online for the first time last night and there was some stutter, but I just assumed it was potentially due to the host, myself and other player connections.  No one lagged out and we were able to play for at least an hour.  Just felt like reporting what seemed like a safe game.

I also find it takes the Recent Players section a while to update, which I don't recall it being like that in the previous version.

I played Gears of War Ultimate last night and the game installed itself again, even though it's already installed.  2 versions show in my games section, though it didn't take double my hard drive space.  I haven't tried other disc based games I own yet, but I'll try one tonight and see if that occurs again.

Tomb Raider has people drop out frequently when the gametype has multiple rounds, which usually leads to the game losing/dropping all players.  Can't decide if this is due to people quitting or if this is another issue with the Live service.  I've been the player dropped, so that's why I can't be sure it's specifically due to quitters.

I have that issue with being signed in but it telling me to sign in with purchasing account, not every time I boot up but most times. Signing out and back in clears it up for me.

I'll throw my chip in with those on the verge of opting out. I like the new look, but functionality is still too wonky. The most annoying issue I get is I often have a blank friends list, I can play online and even accept party invites but can't see who's on or join (obviously).

My X1 rolled back today. I personally can't stand the new interface. Granted, I'm probably on the minority in that my family primarily uses a media remote (harmony, to be specific) to navigate the dashboard usually. Even when they get the functionality back up and running, it's going to be a pain in the ass to use compared to the current setup.

The only option I see remotely close to the setup of clicking left once to get to pinned apps is if I can manually map a key to RT and skip down. That's a hell of a clunky fix as it would still look like crap, though.

Posted about this the other day, but seriously **** Telltale. Minecraft Stories is coming out before the GoT finale. Episode 5 came out in July. The only thing that they have said regarding its release is that it will come "shortly after the Borderlands finale" (which drops on the 20th) so we're probably looking at a November release date. If a Kickstarter missed their promised delivery date by this much and offered no communication about it the company would be in hot water, but TT gets a free pass. Kickstarters only go in hot water for delays if they stop communicating with backers. There's no reason to think TT is canceling the last episode of GOT.

Yeah, they've clearly bitten off more than they should have but I don't think anyone is expecting them to just not deliver something. Presumably they're at least making sure to deliver the best product they can so people cut them some slack. They also have a long established history of being slow to deliver this stuff and most people realize to just not bother starting one of their games until it's complete.

My issues with the dashboard are mainly the occasional crashing, and issues with the home button like others are reporting.

However my bonus issue is that my BC games are no longer showing up in my My Games & Apps tab in the Ready to Install section.

I thought it might just be a temporary store error but it's been a few days now. Anyone else dealing with this?

I know it is coming out eventually, it's just ridiculous they didn't mention it for two months and clearly devoted resources to another game. It's just bad business on their part, they can barely operate with two titles at once and they add a third. The TT game engine itself needs reworking and they just continue to ignore it. If I wasn't such a GoT fan I'd say this is their last game I play, but I know if they release another season of it I will buy it.

yes, and I was really looking forward to playing more borderlands this weekend. which sucks because the DLC is free on the xbone so I cant even play on my 360

Twice I have had EA Access trials end about 15 minutes early, so I don't think their timer displays the correct information when you start the game. It said I had 20 minutes left and game booted me out of the trial around 5 minutes later.

Starting with NBA Live 16, they have a real time trial countdown in the bottom right corner, so maybe that will be more accurate. Kind of cheating that they make you download a required update that wastes 40 minutes of your trial time and it can't be downloaded in the background (I tried).

I'm definitely canceling this garbage update and factory reseting it. But I wanna move some games to my external hdd. If I just turn off the console in regular mode, not hard reset, will it continue to move the games?

Honestly about to not care but MGSV, all the DLC, Gears UE, all the skins, and Destiny will take FOREVER.

This isn't the first time they've done it either. Pretty sure Wolf Among Us suffered major delays (on top of the script rewriting) because of Walking Dead S2. Was also the first time they publicly had large multiple projects releasing at once as far as I know. And now, they clearly have a serious problem with it (they're officially at 3 simultaneous projects, possibly even more we don't know about).

Not sure if it's just because it's easy to cash in with their barebones engine or because they need the money to stay afloat. Time will tell.

Don't get the bitter gripes about the new dasboard. I know it's easy to lose sight of it, but a test phase like the dashboard is in now does not equal "hee hee, I get it before other people." You're getting an unfinished product. Issues are going to come with the territory.

I haven't had many issues with it (certainly a few bugs/crashes here and there but nothing that renders it unusable), aside from getting used to the new navigation. It doesn't seem any better or worse to me, just different and a bit faster, which is good.

The crashing happens to me a lot on My Games and Apps and sometimes the store itself. Not huge issues though tbh.

Also sometimes Gears of War menu lags (not the gameplay itself, just the menus) and the menu in Madden 16 lags like crazy but I'm not sure if that was there on the older dashboard.

Biggest two benefits for me with the new dash board is:

1) Unlimited EA Acess Trials - Obviously a glitch with the new system but It's not keeping track of times played anymore and basically lets me play non-stop.

2) Inviting to parties is snappy as hell and much easier this time around.

Speed I'm mixed on. Some of the stuff seems faster while some of it seems slower. Might be a external hard drive issue because without it plugged in things seem faster. But that wasn't the case pre-betadash.

 
So, I was a little late to the Xbox 1 party, but I've heard there can be issues with achievements unlocking.  

I unlocked the Skills achievement in Forza Horizon 2 yesterday, but it didn't give  a notification on screen.  Checked achievements and it was under the unlocked column and checked xbox.com and it showed unlocked.  Hours later I checked the notifications at the top and still no notification.  Also, it never showed up on trueachievements.   I am in the beta, but not NXE.  Is this a common achievement issue?

Yeah, it's pretty common. I don't get the pops for all my achievements, especially if you are playing offline. There's also the "Done! Unlocking..." that you will sometimes get. Trueachievements only updates like once a day, so it won't show up for at least that.

I can't believe I just pre ordered another game after my last two pre orders were Assassin's Creed Unity and Halo Master Chief Collection.

Remember when they had those Reese's Peanut Butter Cup coupons, or how we could vote for our favorite Halloween Avatars for a prize or even gamerpics?

The One desperately needs some gamerpic options. When an angry slice of toast is one your best gamerpics there's a problem.

I pre-ordered the game but now I have my doubts. I think I am going to return it (or not pick it up at all) and wait for it on EA Access.
