I just may unplug my Xbox One on Nov 11 to prevent getting the update after reading all the problems people are having.  I will wait a few weeks after the shit has hit the fan.

That's a very vocal minority. I've had no problems with NXOE (a few small quirks) since the most recent update. If you unplug on 11/11, you'll have to keep it unplugged FOR-E-VER. :)

I too have had a few problems, but nothing major. I would expect a major update this weekend to NXOE with more progress on the issues list. I wouldn't be too worried about 12th just yet.

Most of the problems are coming from Apps anyways. If you're gonna be playing games only, you probably won't even notice any problems...and the dashboard is much quicker with the new guide and starting parties.

 
The problems friends and I have had so far, came from the updating process. Several of us had to factory reset. NXOE is getting better the more I use it. I really like how my background is visible.
 
Going away from all the NOXE bitching, is it necessary to download the DLC for PvZ on  :360: ? I'm running low and need to save as much room as I can before finishing some of the other games on there.

I really like the NXOE. We're in the beta, of course there's bugs. It can be frustrating when it messes up apps I use a lot, but like I said before we're getting twice weekly updates so it's not like the whole time I've had NXOE I haven't watched YouTube or something. We've got what, 5 patches still before it goes live? I'm sure there will be some bumps, but we're ironing out most of them. Hopefully all the others with issues take the time to report them too.

Sigh.... halo.
 
NXOE has been great for me. Happens that the things some are having problems with are apps I don't use. MCC and another game has had an issue opening a couple of times, but nothing that wasn't almost instantly cleared up. The last couple of patches have greatly improved the experience, so far as what I've read. It'll be fine.

The most amusing thing is someone bitching about round avatars.

I read somewhere that he doesn't care what you think. :) Have you factory reset your console with the NXOE still on it? I had a few major issues before the most recent patch but that's all gone now.

The mechanics of racing should hold up well in the last two CMRs, WRC imports, RS Challenges and Xpand Rally. Graphics is another thing, but shouldn't be too bad considering. When the mechanics are nailed it usually holds up unless the old controller is a detriment or there is an innovative feature you miss like flashbacks or different modes. DiRT Rally is really well liked by rally purists and sounds like the best rally game in a long time. Unfortunately, my desktop is offline on Steam as I finish some GFWL games that will get converted to Steamworks when I reconnect and my laptop probably won't run DRally.

WRC will be great for fans of the WRC because they can use drivers and cars from the championships, but technical issues will hold it back for rally and racing fans in general. DiRT 3 is much more technically sound and from what I've heard may look better than WRC 5, even the Xbone version. D3 is beautiful. The new WRC series has always lagged in graphics. As you put it's requirement to buy it that it would have to be significantly better than D3, it is not. Also, it's been out digitally and retailers listed it's release date as 10/27 or 10/30 depending where you look so it should be out. Sounds like you should stick to D3 and wait for a sale on WRC which I doubt will occur.

I'm hoping I get the preview update for NXOE as late as possible, but I can't imagine they release a flustercluck to the world of xbox live, especially when big releases are coming out and many new xboxes are being bought. I think they'd delay it if there were that many dealbreaking bugs left in it. It sounds like lots of bugs are getting worked out and the ones with issues are always the loudest and they need to be so issues are known. That said, it can't hurt.

Thanks for your time. I don't follow rally, I just like driving them in videogames. I'm not too surprised by your recommendation to stick with Dirt 3. I'll try the WRC demo if there is one. Why don't you think WRC will go on sale?

Resets clear up almost everything that isn't a known issue (like Youtube). It's one thing to say something isn't working, but when it's just constant bitching about it, fuck this, fuck that, fuck you, fuck Microsoft, fuck NXOE...yeah. It's a beta. Have these people never been in a test environment before? Manage your expectations, temper the bitching. If you're scared, buy a dog.

There were people who had their consoles die who were more even-tempered.

Don't blame. It's hard to stay connected to rally in the US. Even WRC wasn't on tv here for a few years and now it's back on MAVTV which a lot of people don't get and if you have Directv it's sd only. US rally events and european ones are usually on even more obscure channels. At least the Dakar gets one hour a day on NBCSports. Sigh.

It would be nice if WRC 5 got a demo. So far there is not. I have doubts it gets a sale as it's a small game from a small company and just doesn't seem like a usual suspect for a sale. I don't think there's DLC to encourage people to buy with a sale on the main game. WRC Powerslide never got a sale on Xbox (just a price cut), but it did on Steam and steam sellers. On PS3, both WRC 3 and WRC 4 got sales (which is how I found out they were released digitally since their launches were so under the radar) so there is some hope.

Why does it seem like Rock Band stuff is on Xbldb's drop page every day of the week? In the middle of a few pages of RB drops I found these:

Finally got a chance to look at the Games with Gold lineup. It's weird that Major Nelson includes the prices with the announcement, as it looks like they're trying to scream "Look at the incredible value!!!!" as you see them listed there.

Pneuma seems interesting. I could tell from the box art that Knight Squad was a local multiplayer game, so that doesn't do anything for me. I think I already bought Dirt 3 when it was cheap in a previous sale. I'm going to take a guess that Dungeon Siege III isn't as good as Diablo III, though I might grab the demo to see how it compares.

 
You really get the impression from both that they don't want you doing a lot with free titles this month. Go buy Halo! Go buy Fallout! That's fine, I guess. The PS+ offerings are much worse. Always up for a rally driver.

 
Well on a downer note...

My Elite Controller is faulty.

The left trigger pulls down more than the right when the locks are engaged.  I thought that I may be crazy...but when configuring them in the menu it shows how much they pull down with a gauge...the left one is more than a half pull with the lock on :(

Also the left stick makes a small click when pushing in before the actual one that makes it work.

Will play with it tonight and return it tomorrow...I will be picking up a new one whenever they get more tho...because it is incredible.

Not arguing that they're nice looking, but it still suffers from the main issues surrounding American cars. They're unrefined and taking them around a track is terrible. Top Gear UK got it right. They're like Harley Davidson. They're loud and they're pretty but they're not really fast..... (this is the point of view of someone who works on cars for a living and performance is everything)

LOL. There they are. I got messages about new rivals events with special Halo 5 cars, but no messages with the cars so I thought maybe they were doing things differently and loading the rivals event would load up the car, but attempting the rivals events failed. Guess my cars were just late.

I'd take a spec'd up AWD Fiesta or Focus any day, not over my Subaru mind you. But, muscle cars, yeah, they're too heavy and slippy RWD for my taste.

 
I just might buy BLOPS III.  The Treyarch MP has always been my favorite.  I am going to spend more on games in the next month than I did in the previous year.  Like Halo, CoD is a good bet to retain TIV for a month.  The only wrench is FO4.

I used to work on cars as well, and almost every car has it's personality and things they are good or great at. Track days are nice, but I haven't been to a track in twenty years. The cars I like are ones that are nice to live with day in and day out. The 1/4 monsters have their place as well, and a time.

I was actually really closely considering the Fusion for a next car, but it's going to be a truck or Jeep next time out.

Yeah, a lot of the cars we drool over you would never want to drive in real life and on actual roads. The WRX Impreza and Lancer Evos are my personal practical dream cars (though they're still kind of stiff and trade some comfort for performance).

black ops 2 is where the multiplayer in cod started to lose me, since my only interest is zombies Im just going to wait till some of the map packs come out and the game is 40

 
If we're talking practicality and fun get a Subaru BRZ. If you're talking pure practicality get a Prius or Ford Fiesta. I can't think of anywhere a Mustang sits that it would be a top choice for anything. I mean if you wanna be a douchebag driver you can get a Mustang so I can see you in my rear view coming up behind me so I know to get out of the way because you're

The only one of those that's actually practical is a Fiesta. I'd love to know what your definition of the term is.

However, you might think anyone in a car with more than four cylinders is a douche, so perhaps not.
