So...this week should be technically be the start of the daily deals if past history is any indicator, right? I'm guessing either by Tuesday or Saturday the latest would be the start time (or in CAG constant stalking for updates time, Monday or Friday night).

 
My guess is that they'll start next week. I looked up the Countdown to 2015 sales from last year on Major Nelson's website and it was on the 15th that he announced there would be daily deals.

I Always kinda figured or assumed they kinda coincided with the 12 Days of Christmas or whatever, until last two years when it was 12 Days of Christmas and a tacked on additional 6 days for New Years or something on those lines.

I feel the same way. If they actually charged a reasonable price I might buy some costumes, but the list prices are so laughable that even the sale prices aren't good.

 
The costumes aren't the worst. At least they let you buy the ones you want separately. I must admit that I have spent like $40 just on costumes for it, though. Gotta outfit my mains!

 
Dead or Alive 5 Last Round is the best 3D fighting game for me so far this gen. Granted It's just a port of the 360 version to the X1.  Online is pretty flawless as of the last patch and It's a lot of fun. All the DLC is cosmetic so nothing to worry about there. Since the X1 isn't getting SF5, KOF and *possibly* the next Tekken It's not like your going to have a lot of choices.

Thanks for reminding me of the countdown sales guys. If MS was nice enough to give me $50 I was gonna pre-order PVZ2 but I'll wait for the countdown deals instead.

The 12 Days of Christmas starts on either Christmas Day (technically at sundown Christmas Eve) or the 26th, depending on the denomination. Like sp0rklez, I wouldn't expect anything until at least next week. I'd like to say I wouldn't complain if they started it early, but that depends on what would be on sale. Though it could start the week after, since it's a countdown to 2016 and not a countdown to Christmas.

 
I'm thinking the tale tale batman is going to be great. I love the tale tale games. What other series would you guys like to see from them?

I think Indianna Jones, spiderman, or star wars would be fun. You really don't have a star wars game like that.

I'd personally like to see a Sherlock Holmes game. The interface and dialog that Telltale does would be perfect. Each episode could be case, with a buildup to a bigger case at the end of the season.

Most people only play a few characters anyways. No need to purchase every costume, just your favorites. Are there any other 3d fighters on X1? DOA is the best and only.

Edit: Now that I think about it UFC and DBZ might count. DOA still best.

I meant a Telltale version. Already have Crimes and Punishments. Not that great, boring as shit, and it takes a great deal of concentration and patience to play. Telltale has a better track record of making things interesting.

Piggybacking off that:

Yeah, Christmas in the UK was January 5th or 6th depending on denomination before the switch from the Julian calendar and people who preferred the Gregorian still celebrated Old Christmas then. Me, I use it as an excuse to procrastinate taking down the tree when my wife nags me about it the day after Christmas.

The countdown to the new year sale always feels like a 12 days of Christmas type of thing to me for some reason although it clearly isn't.

Both KI and SF are easy to play, that is part of the appeal. Mastering them is a whole 'nother story and probably doesn't matter unless your playing at high levels.

 
Theyre bith easy to people who play Fighters. As I was stating, comparatively, KI is easy as its less button pressing and it has auto moves.
 
KI ends up being a little more complex at high level due to characters being so different. If you want to get really good, you have to learn how to deal with every character differently. This is initiating to new players wanting to play in tournaments. Low to mid level KI is a little more even because you can mash buttons as low and be able to hold your own against mid that isn't good at the game. Compared to SF where mid level be able to easily beat low. I'm defining low level as having little no understanding of the game, mid level as understanding how most things work in game, and high level as understanding how everything works as well as being able to execute well.

Both are fun games, but very different. KI is much more offensive focused whereas SF is defensive for example (SF4 anyway). SFV was looking a little more offensive until some of the recent updates that severely hurt combos. I'm more excited about the SFV live action series (made by Assassin's Fist creators) just announced than the game.
 
Is Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition on the Xbox 360 worthwhile? I don't have a current-gen console and I wouldn't want to play a 'gimped', previous-gen version. The 'Frenemies' Character Pack add-on which it is missing doesn't strike me as much of a loss.

thanks for the reminder but i am holding out for a sale on the digital bundle. it may be a while since they announced an enhanced edition to coincide with the release of the expansion on 2/9. i regret not jumping on the $48.99 sale back in September. i am still playing my physical copy and haven't finished the story yet.

maybe i'll get lucky and the bundle will go on sale again tonight before the season pass gets the price hike.

The original version on PS3/Vita is the only version lacking content. The updated version (Super Turbo...) came out on basically all other platforms with extra levels, bosses, etc. I'm inclined to believe the PS4, Xbone, and 360 versions are identical...
