Personally, I think Microsoft is going to do something similar to what Nintendo did with the Wii last year. Shut most if not all of the game servers down but keep the basic infrastructure online for streaming Netflix, achievements, game purchases, etc. Just speculating, but I can't imagine that would cost them too much, especially considering the revenue they could still generate from digital sales. I think this is a happy medium which allows Microsoft to make cuts but still keep gamers happy.

Nintendo didn't shut down the Wii's game servers. GameSpy was shut down, which hosted all of the Wii and DS's multiplayer servers along with a ton of other games.

Yeah they still work fine. I was playing MK Kollection last night and got a few achievements. Sucks that a lot of games had GFWL taken out without warning (Arkahm!). Games like SF4 got significantly worse for several months and others had problems as well.

Probably too late, but I seem to recall it being closer to the zaniness of the first game. They started moving towards more puzzle oriented moments inbetween combat. There's also the finale which, without giving anything away, will test your patience.

And it looks like nothing for me sales wise this week. But that's fine, now I can spend more time on Gears of War: Judgement. I wish they kept the challenges as its own mode and not within the campaign. Otherwise I'm enjoying it.

haven't herd anything but I'd assume you will be able to preload it at the cheaper price. I see it on the dash now but get an error, maybe they're fixing that if you saw it at 29.99?

edit: now it's loading up and yea it says 29.99. maybe give it a few days.

Depending on how much MSRP is I might second guess myself on buying this one, but I've wanted it for a long time (for some odd reason)

the discount price for State Of Decay is already applied for those asking although i bought the 360 version the day it came out and feel spending another $20 on it just to get the dlc is ridiculous,i mightve considered it at $10.

hopefully Goat Simulator is $9.99 i think thats how much it said it is on steam when i googled earlier so that means probably $15 or $20 on X1 lol.

 
I was able to get the discount price on State of Decay XB One from a browser earlier in the day ($20.09) and it said it can be pre-loaded.  Now the webpage isn't loading properly, that's weird.

Depends on what system. If you're talking about the Xbox One, who knows. The 360, I think we can get a better timetable. The earliest a 360 retail game came to GWG, was Hitman Absolution. That came out 11/12 and was free 04/14. Arcade game Battleblock Theater released 04/13 and was free 07/14. So quickest is a 15-16 month turnaround time. Those wishing a just released game will become a Game with Gold title, are going to have to wait 15+ months......at least. So throw out those predictions cause who knows *shrugs*

Ace Combat was removed ahead of its reissue as a Steamworks title. Fable 3 was supposedly due to running out of GFWL keys (?!). Others like Dirt 2 are due to licensing issues and companies won't make the money back for renewing licenses. I would guess that's the deal with VT4, but Sega couldn't have been more vague. VT4 has some GFWL issues with saves and achievements, but there are ways to make it work you can find online. I've gotten almost all of them. The pulled games still play offline and online fine unless there was a specific server closure. The only GFWL game that had it's servers closed (and not moved to Steamworks) that I can think of was Age of Empires which I'm sure was cost prohibitive to still run.

A little bit since my friend let me license transfer his stuff to my :360:. I never bought it until it was on sale for $5 a couple months ago from a sale for the :xb1: discount.

I'm glad I never really played it much since it will be a fresh experience for me now.

my xbox still has the problem in child of light where during cutscenes the screen goes static except for a tiny corner with the game so I cant really enjoy child of light

I think right before you fight the 3 headed dragon it tells you how to switch party members. You should have an option during battle that says switch or something like that.

This. It's one of Ubi's really good AA games (smaller budget, but still high quality). Like Gunslinger and Blood Dragon, but more artsy.

Finally got around to playing a few days ago and enjoyed it even more than I thought I would, I liked their way of including co-op, but I wish there was more for Player 2 to do.

In my experience, when you stop on the spot next to him, never choose to fight him. After your turn, he'll choose to fight you, and you generally don't have enough health to fight him in back to back rounds. You need to go through another area first to regain health before fighting him again. Just use your breath as often as you can and hope he doesn't pin you up against the left side of the screen for too long.

I have lost my wife and my Xbox One to Child of Light. She keeps getting sucked into that game every night, and all I want to do is play Horizon 2. If I was smart, I would just use the 360 and play through something on there, but I've never been mistaken for a smart man.

Why not play couch co-op and be that shiny ball by her side? (and then secretly imagine that ball is your car and drive around the screen in an imaginary open world while making the engine and brake noises with your mouth)
