Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.

the only thing my dad pays full price for are those cigarettes he never came back with...
That's because I shot your dad in an alley.

Mom too.

The fall of 360 begins.

All Ubisoft games going forward will be new-gen only, Guillemot said, with the exception of Just Dance.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/05/12/unannounced-aaa-ubisoft-game-the-division-coming-by-spring-2016

Told you so.
Ironically their best retail games last year were last gen only.

Well I don't know what's up...

You should be okay. I don't think it formats like the PS3 does. You might want to put your saves in the cloud and redownload them on the 4GB if they get lost, just as a backup. Or put them on a flash drive as a backup. But it should be fine.

The only thing you might have to do is delete any disc installs you have, then re-install them using your new 360. A few years ago when I did that my new 360 wouldn't read the installs already on the hard drive. It played the games off the disc until I deleted and re-installed them.
Ok cool. Thank you

Was the Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition pre-order a one day only thing? Although it is still on the PSN store, so I highly doubt it. It was up yesterday, but cannot find it today. It just has the add on which leads to nowhere. The only thing I can think of is they are trying to screw the people with credit and will put it back up at the start of next month.
That is odd. I am sure it is just a mistake. The Capcom blog links to that 'not found' page too: http://www.capcom-unity.com/gregaman/blog/2015/05/12/devil-may-cry-4-special-edition-release-date-pricing-gameplay-trailer-and-costumes

Damn I wish that was a standard deal for the Wolfenstein bundle, I would be all over that!
Watch... He says it. They'll do it, and those of us who already bought one of the two games will get hosed. Unless, they make the price for the missing one of the two games also on sale. New Order for $13 if you own the Old Blood, or vice versa. That'd move some games.

Damn, still $30 to get all the Gears of War: Judgment DLC? I pay 1/3 of that price for the disc...

From Major Nelson on Twitter:

Payday 2: Crimewave Edition is now up for preorder. Preorders get a 25% discount, which brings it down to $37.49. Releases 6/16.  https://store.xbox.com/en-US/Xbox-One/Bundle/Payday-2-Crimewave-Pre-Order-Edition/c3a47e92-8885-4044-87c0-6fd736726a85?cid=majornelson

Anybody here gonna get this? Would be fun to rob banks with some CAG buddies.

Other deal FYI: I know that Best Buy is offering a $10 gift card with purchase. Which makes it even cheaper if you are GCU.

Yeah, the $30(if paying with GCs) deal at BB is still better.

The question is will they actually support the XBO version? Or just ignore it like they did with the 360 one?

This is what I get for working during daylight hours lol #MissingSmite

Double Fine announced that Massive Chalice is coming out for XB1 "around" the same time as it officially launches on PC, June 1. I assume this just means early June for XB1.

Game looks good. From what I've read/watched, mechanics seem similar to X-Com. Which is fine by me.

Source: http://www.gameinformer.com/games/massive_chalice/b/pc/archive/2015/05/13/pc-version-hits-june-1-xbox-one-version-quot-around-then-quot.aspx
It's basically the last XCOM game mixed with the bloodline/generational thing that Euro Strategy games have, which I think is stuff like Crusader Kings unless I'm getting them mixed up. I've really enjoyed what I've played of it so far.

You can find a bunch of footage of the game on Double Fine's Youtube channel in their Massive Chalice playlist. This Giant Bomb Quick Look EX with Brad Muir also works:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8KyN5TZkZA

I'm considering Payday 2 for that digital price, I really enjoyed playing the PS3 version last year with PS Plus. Any other cags considering getting it?

We could rob banks and spend it all on cheap games lol

Anybody with Payday 2 on 360 needs a merciless Enforcer, I'm your man.

I still feel burned by the lack of support for last gen, so I'm going to wait a long while for the Xbone version.

Another Major Nelson Twitter reveal just now. This time for a game called NERO.

Now available for $19.99. I know nothing about this game - other than it says it is a visual novel of sorts, and that it looks very pretty, judging by the screenshots.

https://store.xbox.com/en-US/Xbox-One/Games/NERO/64c595be-b5db-4bb7-834c-babd55647113?cid=majornelson
wow I remember the reveal trailer at e3 and I haven't heard or seen anything from it since then. I love that I can just go to the xbox store page and see all the twitch broadcasts of the game though. Watching someone now.

Also noticed a game called Toro, is that new? It's on sale for $16, down from $20. Description says "Toro, is the first bullfighting simulator game, that will challenge your skills, reflex and fast reactions interacting with 500kg bulls. "

While you're at it, can someone explain the story of assassins creed up to this point? I've played them all but I have no clue what's going on.
*GIANT BREATH*

I'm only going to be covering the main, console releases and I'll start from the beginning:

WARNING: Tons of spoilers up to Assassin's Creed IV as I have not played Rogue yet.

Assassin's Creed
In October, a bartender named Desmond Miles, gets kidnapped by Abstergo to be put into the Animus to access his genetic memories. Using it, Desmond access' Altair Ibn-La'Ahad's memories in 1191. Altair was a member of the Assassin Brotherhood during the Third Crusade. He learns of Knight Templars (Templars) who want to control a device known as the Piece of Eden, which makes humanity essentially give up it's freedom to submit to the controller's will. The Templars want to use it to create a New World Order, which they believe will be successful if they were to control it. PoE's were made by the First Civilization, known as The Precursor's, who first controlled humanity until a calamity wiped them out (we're getting to that part in a few games!). More badass killings. The leader of the Brotherhood turns out to be bastard, Altair kills him and learns of more PoE's being around the world. In the "modern" world, this is the information Abstergo wants, as they want to locate all the PoE's before the modern-day Assassins can interfere. Here, Desmond learns about 2012
. Thus ends game one.

Assassin's Creed II
Desmond and Lucy break out of Abstergo and head to a different location to go into the Animus again to access Ezio Auditore de Firenze's memories. Ezio is a playboy/care-free guy until his father and brothers are falsely accused and killed. Ezio vows revenge on the person behind all of it. We met plenty of historical characters here, all willing and teaching Ezio about being an Assassin. He learns of another PoE presence, and it's owned by Borgia (who is now The Pope). Lots of killings later, Ezio gets into a fight with The Pope, and during the fight, gains the two PoEs (an Apple and a Staff). With all that, he opens a secret area in the church, meets Minerva, who talks directly to Desmond and mentions the end of the world. Abstergo find the hideout, they fight and they move out.

AC: Brotherhood
The game picks up right where 2 left off. Ezio goes back to his family, finds out The Pope's son, Cesare Borgia, has invaded the villa he was staying in and killed his uncle. The Apple (PoE) gets stolen by Cesare. Ezio goes to Rome, and starts training an army (the new Brotherhood). More fights and stuff happen. He tracks down Cesare and defeats him, getting back The Apple. He uses it to show Desmond where it is currently located, and Desmond and the gang head there. Desmond finds Juno there, another of The Precursor's, who learns that Lucy is a double-agent and forces Desmond into killing her. And he falls into a coma.

AC: Revelation
Desmond is in a coma but inside the Animus to play through Ezio's last memories, as he travels to Constantinople. This is when Ezio and Altair's storylines begin to intertwine, as Desmond learns more about Ezio, who learns about Altair. Some Inception shit goes down in this game. He learns about Altair's library, which needs 5 keys to open and embarks on the journey to find them. Shit happens and fights occur. After going into the library, he learns more about Altair's life and how he implanted his memories inside the keys. Ezio uses the PoE to convey the whole message to Desmond and decides to retire from the badass ways of an Assassin. Desmond meets another First Civilization member called Jupiter, who explains that the Pieces of Eden were created to save them, and Earth, from a solar flare that wiped them out. He also learns of the impending flare (2012) that will do the same unless he can access The Vault. Desmond wakes up and says he knows where The Vault is.

Assassin's Creed III a. k. a. The worst one
The Vault is located in modern day New York, which is where Desmond and the gang start off. This time we start out in control of a character named Haytham Kenway. British guy over here in the US before/during the colonial revolution. He recruits a guy named Charles Lee, bangs Connor's mom and *gasp* turns out to be Templar!!! Fast forward a bit, Connor's mom is killed by Charles Lee, her amulet stolen, which was a PoE, and Connor goes on to help the Continental Army with the Revolution and stopping Templar plans. Eventually finds his good, ol' daddy-o, kills him mercilessly, finds Charles Lee, kills him and recovers the amulet. Juno shows up through the Amulet and instructs him to bury it. Desmond learns of it's location and uncovers it and using it to open the final section of The Vault to stop the solar flare from destroying the world. Juno appears and tells him to place his hand on the panel. Minerva appears and tells him, that while the solar flare will indeed stop (21st December, 2012), it will also release Juno from her "prison", who is bent on controlling humanity once again. You get no choice and watch Desmond touch it, have the solar flare stop, die, let Juno free and sit through 20 minutes of credits.

LAST ONE! Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
Through some BS story loopholes, Assassin's Creed can now use a faceless, voiceless character for the modern sections who will access Desmond's memories through his recovered DNA. We take control of Edward Kenway, Connor's grandfather and a pirate! This time we're looking for a place called The Observatory which will allow anyone be monitored through a drop of their blood. Shit happens, Edward fights, catches whales, sings shanties, meets some pirates. He finds The Sage, who is the person who is able to access The Observatory, and shows Edward the location of it. More shit happens and fighting goes on. It turns out that The Sage is actually a reincarnation of Aita, who was a member of the First Civilization and was Juno's hubby. He tries to use the player as a vessel to bring Juno into the modern world as she is too weak to find her own body.

wow I remember the reveal trailer at e3 and I haven't heard or seen anything from it since then.

Looks pretty bad, but maybe somebody that is really into bull fighting would enjoy it. Will have to go really cheap before I pick it up.

You're welcome.
That was awesome, thanks. I feel like a lot of it could be summed up as

Through some BS story loopholes, Assassin's Creed....exists.

They should have just created a game using the Kinetic called Running of the Bulls. You spend the whole game running in place, facing away from your TV, looking over your shoulder, only to be gored if you don't dodge or stop running.

That sounds like it could be fun. Maybe for HoloLens. Along with the bulls add zombies and flying sharks.

Stupid Question: Anyone know where the full E3 Press Conferences can be viewed after they happen?

What with work, I'm just not going to be able to view them live.  And if possible, I'd like to watch them spoiler-free so that I too can experience the huge reveals 'as they happen.'

LoL  :)

Thanks in advance.

IGN will have each one posted shortly after they've aired. I do believe they post them on their youtube page aswell. Or each respective company will have the show on their console to view (not too sure if playstation will have it to view after the initial air).

I'll wait for the inevitable 75% off sale then pick it up.

That's actually a cool idea. I'd plop down $3 for a game like that.
