yeah I didn't get a preview invite so I did what everyone else is doing and went to the registration tab and changed it manually to the new xbox one experience. For those opting in for the new dashboard, these are the warnings it gives:

- Not all games and apps will work in early releases of the New Xbox One Experience. Please see known issues in the preview dashboard for details
 
- The New Xbox One Experience is still in development. not all features are available initially, and early updates may be unstable.
 
- This release will roll out to small groups initially, and larger groups over time.
 
- After you have installed the New Xbox One Experience, you can opt out at any time. Please note that this will restore factory defaults on your console, and erase all locally stored accounts, apps, games, saved games, settings, and home Xbox associations.

Wrong, it clearly states if the searches are not in good faith, searching just for points. You can be banned. I always opened up the trending news articles and it would usually fulfill the search limits, they banned me. In the tos it literally says they can ban you for any reason, even if it doesn't violate the rules. It sucks, but i got more than enough free gift cards. Swagbucks is better anyways.

The ESO problem will keep me from opting in. I hope a lot of ESO players do get in though because the wait time to enter PvP now is ridiculous. About an hour at noon, 2-3 hours at night. Both on weekdays. I might have to not log off Friday afternoon if I want a chance to play this weekend.

EDIT: I underestimated how many people would be playing new DLC. Prior to the dlc a busy night had at most 20-30 minute wait time. I'm at almost 3 hours and I'm not even halfway through the queue ahhhh.

I got the opt in message so I'll do it when I get home from work in the morning. None of the main games I play seem effected by it. Except pool nation, of course, but I think I'll manage.

It's been a long time, but I'm pretty sure that VIP discount was 25% off the original price ONLY, so you got it for $15 instead of $20 if you had VIP and bought it thru the marketplace in game. About 95% sure. It definitely did NOT stack with a sale. If you are going to create lots of tunes or paint jobs, post lots of pics or videos, or you are going to be active in the Auction House, VIP is really handy for the bonus storefront slots and not having your auctions buried at the bottom of the list, plus you get some cool cars. I've bought almost every car in the game from non VIPs in the AH for under 10k each because few people realize how it is setup with all VIP auctions listed first then non VIP's.

It's better than spending 5 perk points for good spins and repeatedly getting under 10k in FH2.

I like that they reward return players. I got all the cars except the one for being at tier 8 and only 21 million credits instead of 25 million because forza rewards has a lot of issues and even though I hit the 300 car threshold last week for Forza Horizon 1 and the forza rewards page listed me at 320, I still got rewarded for being in the 200-300 car range. Oh well. There are tons of cars to buy and those credits disappear fast. People don't have to participate in forza rewards if they want to grind the beginning again.

Fyi, forza reward credit payouts have moved from monthly to weekly.

Thanks for that list. I might have jumped in blindly and regretted it.

Just spent the evening streaming Community from Yahoo screen on the One thru the browser. I had been waiting for an app like a fool. Played around with the smartglass app while watching and it works really well for a remote too. I really need to learn more about this system rather than just do the basics.

 
I'm opting in because I like new and shiny things and any warning that tries to deter me from acquiring new and shiny things is a product of post-9/11 fear mongering. The terrorists will not keep me away from NXE.
 
I really want to try the beta, but that list of not working games is pretty long. I review games so can't really afford to realize other new releases aren't working either.

I had the same "lucky" thing happen to me. As if the 6M credits and 8 high-end cars they boosted me with at the start of the game wasn't enough. Seems like they are trying to make up for the micro-transaction hate from Forza 5. That's fine with me. Less grinding = more fun.

that stinks. I use it for some other stuff but I mostly use "a" to get my points. Between 2 accounts I'm at around 15 k points. Sounds like I should go ahead and cash out some to be on the safe side.
 
Penarium (the game about a fat kid named Willy whose main objective is to survive a bunch of death traps) is finally coming out next week, 9/22. It will be $9.99 and there will also be a demo.

Yeah, the original games managed that well where you had to pick and choose when to buy a car and maybe run an extra race or two but that feels like more of an accomplishment. I guess these days they just want to let people get playing right away.

 
I'm really happy about the storage size increase. Will make transferring my FCIP maps much faster (if it gets BC).

Haven't been playing much MGSV, but the daily rewards and sending my troops to do online missions has kept me progressing in the game without the need to play it much. I think tomorrow and Saturday there is a combined total of $2 worth of premium currency available as daily rewards.

Was anyone else reminded of Bushido Blade?? Maybe that's an outdated reference, especially since I think I only played the first two PS1 games....

Forza Rewards is mostly aimed at returning Forza fanatics who have done the grind already in the past and don't care to do it again. There is a large group who view AI racers with disdain and want to jump right into getting that perfect tune, perfect paint job, run thousands of practice laps on empty tracks and blowing away live competition online and never touch the single player unless they hit a rut or get bored with racing real people. And Turn10 likes seeing more people on their servers.

I. myself, like all aspects of the game including the single player grind, but all racing games can get monotonous after awhile and a break is needed. Even with max rewards, you will eventually hit the same grinding wall everyone else does and if someone doesn't like the extra advantages provided T10? Sell them. Buy all the most expensive cars you can and sell them again. Rinse and repeat a few times and very soon they'll be left with chump change and that precious challenge will be fully restored.

FYI, I've started getting my paints online. First up are my 2013 Ford Focus Shelby Competition paint schemes based off the real 2013 Shelby editions. Simple, but sharp.

Bushido Blade similarities? If that's true you just piqued my interest in that game. They only made the two and diehard fans have been clamoring for a sequel ever since.

From their TOU - A Search is the act of an individual user manually entering text for the good faith purpose of obtaining Bing search results for such user’s own research purposes and does not include any query entered by a bot, macro, or other automated or fraudulent means of any kind (“Search”). Microsoft in its sole discretion determines what constitutes a Search that qualifies for credits.

While you weren't using a bot, to search for 'k' and expect that to qualify as a valid search for research purposes over and over isn't going to pass muster.
