According to a comment on that Kotaku article and judging from the game's Wikipedia page, you buy the base game once and the yearly releases are free updates.  So it seems like the 230 DLC packs for Train Simulator 2016 cover 6+ years of releases and is probably the primary method of funding the series' development.  It will be interesting to see how the XB1 release is handled next year.

That kind of makes sense. The people that are into this are really into this though and the type where this is the only kind of PC game they play and will build rigs and stuff.

This just reminded me to check my Rewards account. I realized that I was awarded the 5,000 points for the "Complete your series" mission (or whatever it was called.) My purchase of the Fear the Walking Dead (6 SD eps for $10.50) apparently qualified me for it. I don't remember how long that mission goes for and can't see it now that it's complete but something to consider if it's still available to you and you're interested in the Walking Dead. It basically came out to $0.75 per episode which isn't bad at all.

I think if you have an Xbox one already bundles will always disappoint. These bundles look great to me, I'm curious to see which ones are cheap on Black Friday so more of my friends will upgrade.

It bothers me that the "deluxe bundle" is exactly the same as just buying the game and season pass separately. No small discount, no bonus bit of DLC. It has no reason to exist.

I like the TR bundle. I would love a FO4 bundle. Mostly I would have liked to see some customized cases to go with these games.

No way I'm going to give Bethesda my money after the disappointment with FO3 and Skyrim. Call me back when they hire Obsidian again

Don't forget that these games also work on the original Xbox. If they were backwards compatible for the Xbox One they'd be the only games to span the distance of all Xbox Platforms via one disc. Super Whopper Trilogy of Calories is what they should call this bundle.

Sneak King is hard though. It's like Metal Gear Cholesterol.

My niece loves my dad's layout. I'm sure my nephews will as well, once they're old enough.

I can't be sure but I think it's account related however you might lose it if you have it on your old console and the new one. Try your Gt on the new console and see :)

Your account is the one in the preview program, but you need to register each console. You'll need to download the Preview App on your new console, register the console, and then wait for it to be picked up with new preview builds. You can also remove the old console if you want from the preview program before getting rid of it.

I believe you are limited to 3 consoles that can be registered (but you can remove old ones if you don't have the console anymore, from the Preview App on a new console).

Seriously. There's no way I would buy a SP without enough being already released that I know I would be happy with the money spent. The closest thing to an exception would be the Forza car passes because you're just buying more cars and know exactly what you're getting.

Thank you guys. I haven't booted the new console up yet - I went home when my wife called me just to unwrap it to snap a pic and put it back in.

I am going switch it on tonight. So, I will see if I can get the preview app and get the console registered. Besides that, I can't think of anything I'd miss on the older console when I switch over. Appreciate your responses.

 
xbox live is down on xbone, however while playing borderlands through BC I could see who was online and was getting notifications when they signed on

Anyone who has an Android phone or tablet and wants to give the mobile version of the game a whirl, it's free on Amazon Underground. It is a fun game. Still prefer games like Geometry Wars 3 over it, but it's simple appearance is complemented with some deep weapon upgrades, etc.

We get one Fallout game a generation from Bethesda. I will pay them to package a shit-smeared bottlecap to my home. Tomb Raider doesn't have that luxury.

Well to be fair FO3, NV, and Skyrim all had extensive and excellent DLC available for them even if some were light weight and questionable. I still wouldn't buy it without having at least an inclination of what it was but it's better than MP DLC for a mode no one wanted to play.

 
WTF is anyone else unable to play their games?  I was in the middle of a game of 2k16 and it just stopped the game saying I had to be signed in to play

There will be a free demo, so no need to bother with a button-less version to try it out.

 
Walmart has Halo 5 download cards now.  Come with Halo 5 + Spartan Assault plus some dlc pack.

Says "16GB expected to be required" but it also says "contact support.rockstargames.com if the code does not work" so I don't have that much faith in it.
